Thanks for a really interesting talk Peter and Koos. A comment on Willem Ratte is that he served in the Rhodesian SAS. When in camp they were constantly kept busy with para drops, sometimes into local dams, assembling and paddling their klepper canoes, demolitions, mine laying and firing weapons. Every man was made familiar with every enemy weapon. Many chose to use the RPD machine gun on external ops for it light weight and fire power. Left to their own devices the SAS men got up to mischief like drinking all the beer in the pub and lining the empty bottles around the entire edge of the communal camp swimming pool. So Willem well versed in being kept busy.
