This prevents people from accidentally footstooling like in other smash bros games while recovering, while also making the usage of footstools more skill-based. The idea behind it is that his Blood Hawk in F-Zero: X is absolutely broken and the champion of speedruns so he'd have slippery physics that could be exploited in the same way.
