And I wouldn't have it any other way.
The minimum engagement distance of the spikes is roughly 200 m. And it has 2 different trajectories which you can choose. A lofted and a flat one. In game it doesn´t get any of features it has in real life.
The 30mm itself have its features left out, such as variable rate of fire which is probably the most important.

You guys complain when Longbow Apache cannot get its fire and forget Hellfires because of Russian bias. IRL Longbow can pop up behind a hill and lock up 16 targets with its MMW radar and fire all 16 Hellfires and duck back behind cover.

The Lynx is meant to be a cheaper alternative to the PUMA, it has access to more recent tech like the APS and Spikes but it’s not cutting edge

This thing was supposed to be immune to 30mm APDS from the front at least, those motherfuckers lied to me.
Its still dosen't have the higher fire rate mode that its supposed to have, 30mm MK 30-2/ABM have two modes of firing, 200 RpM for ground and 700-800 RpM for air and sea targets, but it makes little to no sense why it dosen't have it in the game.
The Strikeshield barely works.
Its supposed to have a two more Spikes in the hull too.
AHEAD ammo not even working as it was intended.
It works against ATGM’s, you just have to keep moving otherwise you’ll catch fire and will have to use a for charge for some reason. Doesn’t work against HEAT though, idk if it was designed to
@@maplearrow1842 HEAT and ATGM technicly works on the same principle in the game, only their usage is different
@@k_balu-8104 What I mean is HEAT fired by an MBT always has a higher velocity compared to ATGM’s, so some APS don’t have the reaction time to deal with both

Strikeshield irl is fast enough to intercept almost any projectile beyond 10m, no matter the speed. Which would obviously be very busted, but it might make the vehicle worth the br.
The only thing that makes the puma viable is the turret being completely fine to be shot. The kf41 has got to be hell

Both the Bushmaster 30mm and MK30 deserve buffs to their APFSDS post pen damage to make up for their lower fire rates. The Russian 30mm doesn’t suffer since it’s got triple the fire rate after all…
Buff all APFSDS
By the way the Russian 30mm also has artificially lowered drag so it keeps penetration over distance way better than the MK30.
Oh and the PMC287 is missing 60% of its mass so the damage is unrealistically bad.
i wish we actully got the Dardo puma. it uses an uparmored dardo hull, with an unmanned turret with spike atgm.

But the main issue would also effect this possible vehicle is the bad implementation of the Spike missile. I can't speak from personal experience with the Lynx yet, but with the Freccia I need on average 3-4 spike MR for a kill. Either you are too close (which concerns most maps) and Spike doesn't hit properly or you are far away but she hits a tree or the vehicle is able to take cover behind which Spike should be able to see from the greater height, but this doesn't always work properly. And the worst thing is that you can only lock on an enemy when he has completely left cover, while the enemy can shoot at you long before that.
Unfortunately they've modeled almost everything about it wrong
A pretty big problem with its shrapnel shells( also the PUMA obviously) is that theyre meant to be programed as they exit the barrel, so when you lock onto an aircraft with your main gun each round coming out should instantly be programed and explode near the aircraft without you having to program it yourself.
imagine if it got the proper lofting like the qn506 so it could effectively work at close range, still don't know why they didn't just give the puma an upgrade kit for it's spikes.

@@einstein3100 i did a 2 minute research, it seems LR2 irl can have a selectable detonation fuse, a new target tracker with artificial intelligence, ability to fire on grid coordinates, and also have counter active protection capability

-Add aiming at a point rather than center mass for fire and forget missiles
-Remove external fuel tanks burning crew

Well, we have to say that it was never intended to fight MBTs at close range or from the front for that matter. It was intended to get Infantry to the front line and defend them against helis and other light vehicles and some MBTs, or as a support for MBTs...
They still managed to get every single one of it's features wrong.

The Puma isn’t useless, it’s an absolute menace against light vehicles and on a flank. And yes, it’s really easy to take out a breach especially if the enemy messed up their shot.
@@maplearrow1842 IF they mess up the shot, which is not the case mostly. Its not a reliable way of surviving. And thats the thing, most players use MBTs, not light tanks, while sure there are still light tanks here and there, but around 60-70% of a match is made up with MBTs. Then there is also the fact that IF you are gonna encounter the said light tanks at all, before they or you dying.
@@k_balu-8104 I’d say 40% of the time your enemy will miss their shot or only partially wound you, especially it’s a premium tank. You mostly see light tanks at the start of the match (flanking and rushing caps) and late in it (no more MBT’s to spawn in)
@maplearrow1842 uts lit worse on a flank compared to any after German vehicles in that br(or lower) and the gun is one if the worst auto cannonns

Don't have it yet, but it seems like itll be pretty fantastic for me, probably going to finish grinding out my Italian tree so I can get it. It seems incredibly similar to the Swedish CV9040 BILL, except it can survive MBT HMG fire, has a faster firing lower pen gun (which is great, since its not like the CV9040 could fight MBTs from the front with the 20mm extra pen), and is faster (hell maybe its transmission isnt bugged and actually works with automatic shifting), with the only real tradeoff being less overall missiles. Given how, even with all the issues the CV9040 has in game, its still by favorite vehicle, I cant wait to get my hands on the lynx
Take it from someone who has hours on the PUMA. Its DOA at 10.0. 2 Spike missiles ain't gonna change that.

@@bootlegpete7984 The missiles arent why the tank seems good to me though (since I use both 40Cs at 11.7 that dont have missiles), its the puma gun which is fantastic, combined with the fact it has more speed and armour than the light tanks that im used to at 10.0.

You forgot to mention it has space for 4 spikes as it is in common but gaijin only added 2 spikes and left the lower section empty.
They should give this thing more missiles. Despite Top attacks being pinpoint. The damage output is very inconsistent and they keep at hitting the same spot, and that spot is either the barrel or frontal turret armor itself.
Tell me why you cant cary spikes in the back, why spikes target barrel and not roof and than it hits the barrel it doesn’t break it?

Gaijin probably put it higher than the freccia because of the APS. Also, external fuel tanks in wt mean you don't have to extinguish them, and if they catch fire it won't damage you at all
Edit: AHEAD shells are supposed to be set automatically by the FCS of the tank to explode ahead of thr target aircraft. Like HE-TF shells, but it should be all done automatically. Yes that means calculating target speed, direction, and direction of travel, all at once
The AHEAD shell doesn't work either btw. It doesn't work on the PUMA and it haven't been fixed yet.

I feel like they can easily give the lynx 8 total missiles I mean like look at all that empty space it has now sure it’s for crew but I mean is it really a stretch to imagine the crews would put extra missiles in that space given the opportunity.
I still do not understand why German mains so desire FnF missiles... they are currently so unreliable and relies on too many variables to actually hit if not kill, even if that vehicle is mediocre i'd still play it just for annoy those crybabies about their missing pixel armament.
well its quite simple why german mains want a proper missle. the best missle in the entire german IFV line is the I-tow with 550mm if i remember correctly and it doesnt have a tandem warhead

Giving it stronger ammo is practicly impossible cause there is no stronger ammo, realisticly speaking it could get 2 spare Spikes stored in the hull, 10.0 would be a great BR for it as, PUMA should go down back to 9.7 though. OR move everything up 0.3 except these two and give the 8.0 lineups more breathing room.

That is how GAYjin thinks! They take the base BR of a basic similar vehicle and for each extra feature/upgrade they increase the BR bracket, like how some cruisers of the same class has a different BR with sometimes the only difference is something nonsense, like a float-plane.

Good video first of all. I love this thing, and I actually agree with the 10.7 BR, but maybe it could go down to 10.3 so it's not constantly sucked into full uptiers.
My only advice is to play this passively, go off to the side, be a scout, and use the the spikes (I know only 2) as your primary weapon. If you want to be aggressive, use it like a BTR/Marder or god forbid, a Wiesel. But even playing it like those, you still need to be the flanker these things are designed to be. Be patient and wait for the enemy to be perpendicular to you for the least amount of armor. This thing isn't meant to be on the front lines, it's opportunistic.

Hardly a surprise. The whole hungarian line is the usual "minimum effort" bs that gaijin reserve to italy. Too many of those tanks do not mach any other lineup already existing and they are too few to form new lineup. On top of that hungary do not fix the 2 main italian issue: the lack of a strong top br mbt or spaa
The Arietes are decent ever since they got DM53, especially the AMV version

Armor packages just give more HEAT protection in exchange of less mobility which isn’t worth it, and what are you on about half of them have roof machineguns?
Arietes are fine where they are. The P is still at 10.0 because it has worse armor and ammo, the PSO and WAR versions are 11.3 which is fair (same BR as all the squadron tanks) and the AMV is 11.7 because it has much better mobility just like the Challenger 2E.
