As an Italian main, I get really mad when someone else says “we suffer”, “we should get this”, “we should get that” while having competitive vehicles in their tech trees
It’s been years since I’m waiting for a sub tech tree to come in the Italian tech tree, meanwhile Israel and Finland made It into the game, when will be our turn?
I hope in the next patch. I grinded the whole tree both for nationalism and interest in our vehicles (man i really love B1 series 🖤), but something to fill the massive gaps in some BR is needed...
Someone said Hungary will be coming as sub-tree (don't remember if was a dev in the russian streaming or on the forum), but it's not credible by others because "since when Italy used Soviet tech?"...meanwhile UK and Sweden have receive a sub-tree with unique Soviet and South African tech.
I don't care which nation will arrive as sub-tree, Spain, Hungary or even Brazil, i will complete again the tree and use whatever they can add. I can't wait to use again my 9.0 and 10.0 line-up🖤 (currently trying to get my second Ace crew for my Merkava mk2d)
Which sub tech tree could be added?
The Italians have become the Japan Line prior to the Type 10 addition.

I still hope the Ariete AMV, the B2 Centauro and more vehicles (like the PzH 2000 or the Palmaria SPG, the Leonardo M60A3, the B1 Centauro Serie 3, the C-13 TUA [with the same turret used for on the M901] and such) will be add to the game. There are still enough vehicles as possible adds to increase interest in our country, and some are also for the top tier.
Adding the Tornado was the basement for such thing, as the Panzerhaubitze 2000 can be added to both Italy and Germany, or the B1 Serie 3 since the VRCC-105 is based on that.
Sadly there really isn’t a place in war thunder for playable artillery

@@jacoproita9010 nope, it's a serie 3. The rear hull is much longer, a trait only used on the serie 3 batch.
Another feature should be the ability to steer all the wheels instead only the 2 rear pairs, but the hull is the easier way to identify it.
Serie 1 is the ROMOR used in-game, the Serie 2 basically the same as Serie 1 upgraded but without the ERA mount rails and the same hull length as the previous model.
@@justamicrowave2572 still other countries did have receive their SPGs, 2S3M, G6 Rhino, Type 75, Bkan 1C, some Premium as the Brummbar or the Lorraine 155 so...SPGs can be add to the game. They are not so easily to use, neither wanted by many as possible new tanks, but If it will not be the case, there are other options just like what i wrote down😁

@@jacoproita9010 It is still shame that documents about WAR kit are classified and we don't know it true kinetic protection but it is for sure much more then what Gaijin is making it right now in game. I feel like Japan is the forgotten nation by Gaijin, the Italy is just a punching bag for Gaijin. Many nerfs to its top tiers and instead adding more height tiers vehicles we got 3 updated in a row rank 1-2 cars.

They should honestly give the old CL3143 back because the extra pen would actually help or a sub tree
Or the DM53, since a new order by the Esercito was made in these days about a new shipments of 120mm rounds (mostly HE) for both the C1 Ariete and the B2 Centauro, selled by Israel (M339), Germany (DM11) and France (not remember the name). So if such modern shells are useable even on the Ariete, and the DM53 is used on the old L44 main gun (saw even on Turkish Leopard 2A4), why not add it to us?
Sadly there isn't a need for more KE rounds in the request (to use as infos about the in-game shell change) but i'm sure we are using it for both vehicles (or at least on the B2, the M322/CL3143 order was made in the early 2000...).

Italy can get nation sub trees like Spain and Hungary which will let them access the Leopard 2. Also they could receive Centauro 2, Ariete Hitfact mk2 and maybe even Ariete AMV. A129D with spike missiles is also a likely possibility.
Japan however I really don't know how they will keep up with other nations, domestically they basically have run out of tanks. I also don't know any subtree that could fit into Japan with reasonable justification: South Korea? That would cause controversy. Thailand? They mostly use Chinese tanks nowadays. Other south east asian nations have no real ties with Japan other than being invaded in the past.

gajin still hasn't fixed the Ariete armour, even on the website of the manufacturer it is stated that it's composite armour but they ignored all the reports it seems
Yeah Italy is just Gajin punching back. You need like dozen sources for them to fix something. Hell, the WAR kit is still classified but for sure it has more kinetic protection then it has in game right now which is what. Just adding 40mm of kinetic protection? That is just a stupid joke from Gaijin side.
I think the best thing for the Italian top teir at this point would be to move the in game arietes down to 10.3. And have the two known Ariete AMV prototypes take their place at 10.7. As for the 11.0 spot, they could add the Centauro II, and the final AMV iteration when it's unveiled (which should be a combination of both previous prototypes features and then some).
There are plenty of other vehicles which would be mentioned to fill the gaps within 6.3-10.0, but im sure people hear will cover those

We have built a lot of vehicles and variants of them, they can use them as possible adds for every type (tech tree, premium and even squadron). The problem is the Snail that doesn't care of a minor nation like us poor italians (both main and player of such origin).
In my comment i wrote down a little list of possible adds but there are more that could be also featured; one problem for that is the number of vehicle actually produced, some are small batches and other just a few...
But if they put the Otomatic in the game as a TT SPAAG (which only 2 were built, one on the OF40 hull as featured in the game, the another made on the Leopard 1 modified hull, currently displayed in a museum) there is the chance to have them in the game; one that could help is the OF-40 with the Gepard turret (let's say is like the Chieftain Marksman in the British tree), so we can have a better AA than the SIDAM which have an awful repair cost and just an IRST lock-on.
For squadron vehicle there could be the OF-40 mk3, an OF export model fitted with the C1 preserie turret (or maybe as a top tier Premium at 9.7/10.0 with just the DM23 or even DM33 since the C1 Preserie use it), or even better the M60A3 upgraded by Leonardo which is a massive overhaul of the tank featuring composite armor, modern FCS, the same gun used on the B2 Centauro (the 120/45 cannon) and new engine.
I still hope for many of them to be add, also the chance to receive a sub-tree, Italy can be a competent nation to play if the right vehicles are featured...the Snail have to give us a chance to prove it.
They just need to add the Centauro 2, that is a better Armored, faster Centauro 120, that can sling DM53A1 ever 3 seconds.
The can also add the Ariete Hitfact that is a Ariete hull with a Centauro 2 turret on top.
Or also the Ariete AMV that is a faster Ariete, with war and PSO kits on an DM53A1.
They could also add the Draco that shoots guided HEFSDS

I use the Centauro's as a starter and Arietes as a backup, works for me i do fine, but Gayjin needs to step up their game with Italy.

The reserve and other Italian 1.0 tanks are very weak compared to their competition.
I have played the Italian ground forces tech tree for a long, long time now and there is absolutely no way that these tanks are in any way that comparable or superior to the US, German, or Russian reserve or BR 1.0 tanks.
Compared to the same tier Russian/German/US tanks, the M13/M14/M15 tanks are very slow; their turret traverse is also very slow. Reverse speed is horrible. Reload speed is mediocre. Climbing hills is also very slow or do not bother. Frontal armour is terrible unless you angle the tank.
Based on personal experience ( I have been playing for years), the 47 MM canon is good for BR level 1.0 or 1.3 but struggles at 1.7 and suffers at 2.0 and above. When up-tiered you will possibly compete against BR 3.0 tanks such as the Medium Tank M4A3 Sherman, T-50, Pz.III L, etc.
As a result, my friends and I no longer play the M15, M14, M13 II or M13 III. We have had terrible experience with these M13 vehicles since the June 2022 update. I literally could not pen tanks from several meters.
There is no BR 1.3 tank available at the current time.
Unfortunately, except for the AB 41, the remaining Italian reserve and BR 1.0 tanks are very poor, no I should say terrible. They are not competitive with the Russian/German/US BR 1.0 tanks.
The P40 was good at 2.7, ok at 3.0, and struggles at 3.3.
We did not even bother to try tanks at tier 3 or above.
i almoast don't see italian top tier and if i see it in the battle it's like one or two guys. Gaijin really needs to give something good for italy top tier

The fact is that our territory is surrounded by the sea, and the Italian government aims to improve the air and naval forces. About the ground forces they will think about it in the future, I can only say that in the future The C2 Ariete will arrive, Dardo 2, and a new centauro model

Italy has a lot of great vehicles below top tier and are still one of the most fun nations to play IMO. They get the OF 40 at 7.7 which can just farm everything else at its br by using it's laser range finder and stabilizer. They are still totally worth the grind IMO
Italy is the only nation with MBTs that have worse weakspots than the Abrams, the Arietes are #1 for worst weakspot layout (the entire tank), and the Abrams comes in at #2 (pretty much the entire tank). Thats just sad.

I’ve literally lost all hope with the Italian tree 3 years of basically nothing positive for its top tier has just made it more and more depressing, the OTO and the Centauro are the only 2 vehicles in the ground tree that are actually interesting and fun to play
Well you know, when you decide to contradict basically all sources (official web site of the company that build this tank included) that states that the C1 has composite both on hull and turret (with even more thickness) this is the result.
If only Italy was more competitive, the low tier is fun though!

they both more or less die when penned, they have mediocre darts, but ariete has speed, which makes it easier to use

Italy has suffered from the most needs in the game, granted some of them were deserved but you also have garbage top tier AA guns that have extremely expensive repair costs added on. I remember that the Sidam 25 was 15000 SL repair cost in GRB and 20000 in Arcade. It’s sad :(
Ps the mangusta cbt has bugged zoom for like 6 months now...when they introduced the ATAK(T129) the zoom went from 29.9(like the atak,with the same sight)to 12.0 x
Japan can be saved by adding a South korean sub tree with the K1’s,K2’s and T80’s but I have no idea how they can save italy without a copy paste nation which will give it leo’s, like spain, greece or portugal. Its a rough spot.
South Korea would be good in the idea but it's like adding Ukraine to USSR looking at the SK and JP communities. I think it's more likely to see a ASEAN tree then SK in Japan at the moment

Me still looking to the oto dreaming somedays the snail gods decide to make it useful against top tier air vehicles too(to engage anything beside helicopters the oto had a rocket propelled shell cabable to reach 12km,the same as both itos and flarakrad)
Even though they are the worst, I am always pleasantly surprised when I play top tier Italy. Also their rounds hits hard. Fantastic spalling.

I dont understand why they got nerfed. They were somewhat good with Arietes having the best shells in the game (at the time the only nation with 625mm apfsds shells), now they have like 589 tops.. whilst armour is nonexistant on arietes, not to mention they are 11.0 now.. like wat
The problem is that those vehicles are good but they're placed in br's definitely too high for them.
They should add other vehicles and lower the br's of the Ariete tanks.

You do realise the A129cbt got hellfires , also flares and IRCM? Probably the most capable helicopter at 10.0 BR
I believe I mentioned that I use TOWs over hellfires for reliability. 8 hellfires are far too unreliable to be effective, where as TOWs albeit slower and lacks range does a better job for me.
But dont tell anyone or it will get set to 11 if the big3 find out

One thing people miss about the ariete is its absolutely *awful* optics. Sure it has gen 2 thermals but go look at its zoom and fov stats. The only top tier mbt that comes close is the type 90
I think Gaijin should just give the Arietes at 10.7 the Chally 2 reload rate - but not for just 5.3 seconds.

What did you guys think about Japan tech tree and new premium vehicle tank that replace type 74g? Cuz I will grinding this year.
The Italian tree is falling behind because:
1-Gaijin lacks critical thinking skills. They see the Italian playerbase decline, so they add fewer Italian vehicles, so the playerbase declines, so they add fewer vehicles, and it just spirals out of control.
2-Gaijin actively goes out of their way to nerf Italy in every way imaginable.
-They uptier everything (G91YS is about to be a higher BR than some F104s, the Sidam Mistral is the same BR as the LAVAD while having the highest repair cost of any top tier SPAA, the Sag2 had the highest repair cost of any fighter in the game until just a few months ago at 55k and regularly got uptiered to 10.0), the old premium A129(p) got moved to 10.0 (no countermeasures, no ECCM, literally made of paper, a .50 nose gun.)
-They refuse to fix bugs on any Italian vehicles. The Sidam's missiles have had the same graphical bug for over three years, the Otomatic's tracking hasn't been accurate to even the War Thunder Wiki in 15 months (They changed it without ever mentioning it in any patch notes, I've checked all of them), the Otomatic hasn't had it's OPTICAL tracking usable with the radar mast down for at least two years, the Ariete has incorrect armor per the literal Leonardo website and whenever it's brought up the conversation gets locked and labelled "Not a Bug", just to name a few.
Absolutely agree...friends and I stopped playing the Italian TT because of the issues you have listed.
@@charlzgormanov8430 I got the Otomatic's radar arc fixed and another guy got the folded IRST fixed, they're giving us the first vehicle in the game with Spikes, the G91YS isn't going to be end of the line anymore so it's playerbase might increase allowing for more accurate stats. In all, Italy has potential at being fixed. I did however have one of the Bug Mods snap at me for posting a bug report that the Vihkrs sets of the Otomatics fuses but causes no damage to the missile.
Still beyond confusing why the M3A3 Bradley doesn’t get the tandem TOW’s.

Interesting thing about C1 Ariete is that While everyone designed a tank with ergonomics surpassing the predecessor vehicle, the italian "goat" tank prefer the concept they already familiar with.
In this case, the C1 Ariete has similar crew ergonomic like the Leopard 1 (In fact you can view the C1 Ariete as the final evolution of Leopard 1 in a rough sense). Yes and that also means exposed ammo rack. There's only a few Western tank that still retained an exposed ready rack in today's age. C1, along with South Korean K1 is among those rare few that maintained a ready rack next to a gun without any blast protection to it lol

RB strictly, I prefer to not play sim anymore, unfortunately.
this is good and this is bad yara yara yara... I like toptier but we all know that past 8.0 the player that wins is tha one who shoots first. not the one with a nuke apfsds, not the one with best armor, nor the fastest, but the one who is able to see an enemy without being seen and shoots first. And in 5 years of WT totptier i've never seen a player aiming somewhere else than mantlet or barrel in a frontal confrontation. You can play the same with even the OTOMATIC because that's a common tank weakspot that even it can penetrate with 76mm apfsds. So i'm soo glad that someone finally said it: "it depends on the player"
I see italian players doing well as other nations in several games.
I see the point of "italians have no armor so the vehicles are not forgiving" but the whole tree is focused ion light vehicles. if you grinded the interity of it you should know well how to use light vehicles and not to get shot in the first place
the only real thing they are missing is the heli now ... i agree, but untill GJ decides to implement Spikes Italy wont' get anything in that departmente because the italian most modern helis are able to use ONLY that missile

Italy is long overdue for the Centauro 2. But in reality the closest thing to a new tank Italy has IRL is a C2 prototype that never happened. Atleast Japan gets it's Type 10s that are brand new and actually modern. Italy has no such thing to add.
While Italy is in undoubtely a very bad spot this was so much fun and doesn't seem as bad as people say. Also, if some of you still can't see whether you have enabled IRST mode or not here's what you can do, go to Options then choose Battle Interface, you'll see an option called "Safe area in HUD" and you should reduce it to 90% which fixes the issue.
I love playing italy as it's a minor nation and I can tell people to shut up about them having "bad" vehicles *Ahem* looking at you Russia mains, facts aside I do hope that Italy gets the vehicles and sub trees it so desperately needs like the B2 Centauros, Ariete AMVs, Centauro Draco, and Aermacchi M346 Master. As for sub trees Hungary with the Altay MBT would be nice to see, Romania to fill up rank 5 and 6 with interesting upgraded T-55/64, and Spain for some other stuff. All that is ground and I mainly play air so what interests me is the mig-29, Gripen, and F-16C. One day is all I can hope for though because screw minor nations right.

there are easily way more than 10+ vehicles (at least 5 top tier) vehicles that italy can get for each tech tree, aero (for the heli tech tree theres PLENTY, easily more than 10+ only helis), land, bluewater and coastal, there are discord servers that did research and made suggestion and worked hard to make this possible and they are not heard from gaijin !
gaijin never cared about italian tech tree, and only when they cared to put in the content as how it was, italy has a specific doctrine and needs that requests particular vehicles... (for example thats why they have a lot about armored cars, good mobility based stuff ecc) italy was critized and made only problems for gaijin , thats why they stopped caring, even now, still because of that italy is such underpowered and overBRed.
I would like to point out that im not even an italy main, poor italy is such a joke, i have friends that love it, they were italians mains and stopped playing wt bc it wasnt sustainable... i cant blame them tho.
Contest: I am a main russia and sometimes america, i play because i like to win. if i had to play italy i would STOP play wt.
Said all of that we all know as WT players that if gaijin wanted they would make italy competitive and give it what it must have because they have the content.

I genuinely believe the Italian top tier ground is better in 90% of cases than the British ground, not talking Air/Helis. I'd much rather have an Ariete than a Challenger 2, both have a similar round, British don't have any top tier IFVs or wheeled vehicles, and other than the Black Knight, all the Chally 2s are basically the same as the 10.7 one, arguably worse because they trade a negligible armor package for a shit ton of weight. We do have an ADATS, so the AA capabilities are better for the most part, but it has no cannon for breaking barrels/tracks and close helis/strafing planes (I know the missiles are rediculous but I'd trade a third of my missiles for even just a 50 cal for light targets).
And the Stormer HVM is useless as Gaijin loves breaking it every other update.

To be honest... yes, Italy doesn't suck at top tier, it's just that everybody else is just better.
The otomatic is probably the best top tier vehicle right now but with it's 10k repair cost it makes it not worth to play... and the sidam is basically the same story, 9k repair cost for a subpar vehicle that even struggles to climb hills... yes it can melt planes that are dumb enough to fly low but at that br it's much more likely that a heli will snipe you from such a distance that you can't lock on it or fire a missile...
The repair costs of the tanks are really bad... it's not uncommon that I end up with -23k SL just because I was unlucky enough to meet heli or cas player.
In the past it made sense to play the italians top tier because we had the best round in the game, but then gaijin gave it to everybody else so...
I main Italy because it has the most unique vehicles. Mid tier is somewhat a copy of America but other than that its all indigenous.

Is that "no stabilizer after 76kph" realistic or is it a bug? It is really an annoying thing...
no everything with a stabilizer has a maximum stabilized speed, centauros are just one of the only ones that can realistically hit that speed

In reality the ariete has an armor comparable to a russian t80, but in game It's armor doesn't exist
