I have an anemone aquarium. Three years ago I put in a rose bubbletip, a rainbow bubbletip, a Haddoni and a Magnifica. Now I have twelve anemones, and my pair of tomato clowns bicker over which anemone to host, because my male sleeps in the rainbow bubbletip and the female sleeps in the rose bubbletip, but during the day they share the Magnifica. I'd recommend that you either have an anemone tank or a reef tank, and I'd go for the anemone tank every time.
Hi , i am a beginner hobbiest, i have start with carpet anemone. planning to buy tentacle anemone. Wish to know the water changing , and feeding intervals pls let me know
Could you please provide the correct spectrum LED adjustment for keeping anemone healthy and happy, If you're using LED. I'm looking for percentage of Blue, White, Red, Green, Purple and how many hours a day. Thanks
Always love your videos, great info and keep up the good work! I would like to add something about “hosting” if I could. It’s a little technical but we reefers use that term a lot. As a matter of fact nor the anemone host the clown neither the opposite. They have a mutual symbiosis (both benefit). “Hosting” in biology is a term reserved to parasitic symbiotic relations, and that’s not the case...
Always thought of the "hosting" term as a way someone would host a guest in their house so the anemone hosts the clowns hehe. I do realize now though that it does sound all wrong if taken in the biological sense.
It is, you metioned in the video that people buy anemones and clowns with hopes that they will host, often people also buy clowns that are not mates and end up having issues because they dont know how it works. Happened to me, I wish I knew. Please orientate us better, so that it doesnt happen to people that are unaware.
I personally, and this is my opinion and advise to new comers in the hobby, carpet anemone’s are far easier to keep than bubble tips, riteeri or alike, they create problems, move around and don’t introduce well to an aquarium without constant intervention and treating with antibiotics, my ratio of carpet anemones doing well versus any other type is way way higher
Mine have stayed mostly where I put them. My bubbletips stayed as long as I put them in a deep crack where my rocks meet. My rock flowers just act like a mushroom and stay wherever lol.
Can we keep fire goby fish, wrasse fish and anamone in same tank? Or only clown fishes are compatible with anamone? Will anamone will kill other small fishes in the tank?
i bought a rainbow bta and when i got it, it’s foot was attached to the plate of a frag plug. i placed it right on a slanted rock and has many holes for its foot. i left it overnight with no flow and a week later, it’s close to the same spot i placed it except it walked off of the plate and put its foot into a hole less then an inch away. i guess it was the 1 out of 10% 😂
Is that your main DT? How many gallons. Love Nems and the clown fish and anemone crabs that host in them. Wish we could figure out how to get the nems to keep their bubbles. Great content.
Yeah I don't know of anyone that has any actual science on that... One of the world's mysteries lol. And thanks! Thanks for being a part of the RealReefingFam!
How often do you feed your Sebae if it’s hosting a clown. Mine hosts but recently has shrunk and has an open mouth . No water issues or lighting changes. I don’t know if it maybe overfeeding ?
There really is no need to feed your nem. However if you are feeding it and it is being offered too much food it will reject your offering. It may just be your clowns making themselves at home that has your nem that way
When acclimating, don't you want your salinity to be the same as the water it came in? I've recently purchased fish from Petco whose salinity was 1.030... and I was shocked, so I had to drip for a LONG time since my salinity was 1.025.
I'm starting to think i wish i had a dedicated anemone tank for my FFBTA, Mine keep spliting, Think i started with one have total of 10, there easy to keep and never feed them
I typically don't feed them anymore.. yes you absolutely can keep different anemones in one tank. Right now I have a sebae and 2 rose bubble tips in the 300.
Hi I really need help I got a Waterbox cube 10 pretty similar to your IM nuvo 10 and I set it up yesterday and all of a sudden it was making like a gargling noise of water or bubbles. What do I do. Thanks :)
Sounds like your return pump is sucking air. Make sure it's got enough water in it. If that's not it then youll have to go to my Facebook page and or Instagram page and msg me so you can send pictures
Hey man, i need help and havent seen videos regarding sumps with skimmers versus hang on skimmers with no sump for a reef aquarium. Im currently deciding what to do and could really use help.
you will find some will say you NEED a sump and some will say you don't. I don't think you need one. I think it makes things easier and cleaner looking. hang on the back options certainly reduce costs and simplifies things. truth is, you can have a successful reef either way so its up to you. to sump or not to sump lol
RealReefingTV lol that IS the question. We’ll see the Aquamaxx 1.5 looks pretty cool and easy to use. Btw awesome vid on anemones. Hemos alot with my other existential questions 😂😬 Thanks brah! I’ll let you know what I end up doing.
RealReefingTV I have a 40 gal. breeder. I’d post a pic but i think it wont let me hah. Budget allows for any investment but i dont have a huge tank and the aquamaxx looks cool. I dunno dude. 😂🤷♂️
Well rockflowers don't really "function" like the rest of the anemones. they are tiny, host nothing and dont really move, they are more of a stingy mushroom coral then an anemone :P
if you're talking about the audio quality it's bad my recorder stopped recording and then didn't actually save the audio file so I had to go off at the main camera microphone which is not good.
yeah sorry about that my audio recorder failed on me during the filming of this so I had to use the microphone for my camera which is awful. Thanks for taking time to let me know though

Mixing anemones with other corals it’s simply crazy you are right in that
Wow, That's very helpful advise. Thanks buddy!👌🏻
Thanks for sharing your information.
They move. They split. The end.

Same for a biocube stock . Daylight, sunrise/sunset and blue light
Sir I m going star new tank give me good tips for more setup anemone corals
Im new here, getting ready to start a tank. Loving your content on here, thanks for all the tips!!!
That's awesome! Good luck with your tank!

“they are fish being fishy”
that’s one way to put it. 😂😂
Do a video about pairing clowns please! Btw: love your content
Like getting them to pair up and mate?
Yes, what types of clowns can be together and that sort of stuff!
Good idea!
It is, you metioned in the video that people buy anemones and clowns with hopes that they will host, often people also buy clowns that are not mates and end up having issues because they dont know how it works. That sounds like a good blog post for the website!
do you have to wear gloves when handling them (putting them in the tank)?
Its good if you do, our hands have oils and bacteria that could harm them in the long run. not to mention, some anemones stings hurt like a mfer.
Do you feed them everyday; good info
I don't normally feed them manually. They catch food when I feed and use the light. But you can feed directly and speed up growth
I'm a year late but i fed mine a 5th of a shrimp every 3-4 days until i sold it
Great video,keep it up!🐋

do you turn light off at night, like i know you have to do for fish
What I've discovered with keeping nems, is you may place them. But they will decide where they're going and when.
bahahahah!! EXACTLY! What kinds have you had?
@@RealReefingTV I've only had bubbletips.
Do yours stay bubbly? Or no?
@@RealReefingTV yes, never had an issue with them flattening out and losing the bubbletip.
Mine have stayed mostly where I put them. My bubbletips stayed as long as I put them in a deep crack where my rocks meet. My rock flowers just act like a mushroom and stay wherever lol.
you sir got a new sub! great info brotha
Welcome to the RealReefingFam!
Nice tank! I just added a rose bubble tip to my tank. Thanks for posting. What reef lights do you use?
I use Philips CoralCare Gen2 reef lights
I have a fluval sea nano light, do you think that will be appropriate for bubble tip anemones?
Always wanting a small reef aquarium, but unable to drive in from fresh to salt water aquarium
Thanks nice to know👍🏻
Try to put pictures in when you are talking about obscure things
I'm showing for footage of what I'm talking about in my newer videos, give those a watch and let me know what you think! 😁

Yes it's my main display. It's the marineland 300 gallon deep dimension tank

Dylan Gamache I’m amazed a nem 1. Survived petco and 2. Survived that high salinity
Anemones r hard to keep, but I love it 🤓
I'm starting to think i wish i had a dedicated anemone tank for my FFBTA, Mine keep spliting, Think i started with one have total of 10, there easy to keep and never feed them
Thank God someone can spell the name correctly!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

@@RealReefingTV is that a myth about chemical warfare with keeping different types in one tank?
I suppose it's not impossible, but I haven't had any issues and these two have been right next to each other of over a year now
Which anemone are safest for non clownfish that clownfish are happy to host?
Bubble tip anemone

What about rock flower anemones
Just subscribed👍
Best prices, Orlando area, set up 38 gal reef tank from start and your videos are great THX
I'm glad the videos are helpful! Thanks for being a part of the RealReefingFam!
how’s that tank going? in the same area just curious
i lost two. a tube anemone moved and got sucked up in the power head and got shredded.
Ouch 😖
Are you also on Instagram?????
No Ritteri anemone?
My bubble tip has shriveled up for a few weeks now could any body tell me what I should look for and why it's shrivelled up
Normally that’s low lighting but also make sure it’s mouth isn’t gaping
They may also be getting ready to move around the tank for flow or light
@@i_cant_think8947 thanks but so small can't see it's mouth so do you think I should put my light stronger
@@i_cant_think8947 is there any way I could send you a picture of my Ai prime light settings

Feeding dead fish to anemone isn’t all that bad of an idea to be completely honest..
xD $90 for an rbta I wish they were that cheap here
Volume to low...
Long tentacle love??????
how much flow is to much flow
i dont know if its only me, but it sounds awfully down...
if you're talking about the audio quality it's bad my recorder stopped recording and then didn't actually save the audio file so I had to go off at the main camera microphone which is not good.
Stop shouting at the camera .. I’m not deaf
I do not see anything helpful in this video... Nothing really about the flow, light intensity, water conditions, water parameter stability, temps...
Adjust your voice audio levels they are to low had to put volume all the way up.
yeah sorry about that my audio recorder failed on me during the filming of this so I had to use the microphone for my camera which is awful. Thanks for taking time to let me know though
No way, it's a predator it will just eat your fish pet.
You look cute
Just don’t do it
hate videos where i have to look at someone's face. instead showing the topic and demonstrating.. lame
grow up and thank him for his vid and info like a adult
