I'm here to be technical and also say that this was cool! A 14" stick of 4" sch 40 PVC holds 0.76 gal in case you wanted to know the amount of fuel he has in his PVC tank. Not including the fittings. To get a gallon of liquid in the 4" PVC you'd need 18.38 inches. So also, the parts he used was a cleanout adapter + cap, and a regular cap
@@dare1ner The engine went bad and I replaced it with a Harbor Freight 6.5hp engine that came with its own fuel tank. But, the pvc gas tank did hold up for years.
I have a questions for you - I'm planning on making a small vapor canister case for my car (about 6") - Does the long-term settling of the gasoline inside the pvc pipe have any affect with the plastic? Does it warp or melt during some time? Thank you in advance.

Awesome video!! My lawn tractor had its tank leaking so I was looking for ideas

Yellow teflon tape is petrolium rated. It is a bit thicker however. Nice video.
No vent?
What about a vent for tank?
good video thx Ed Loretto Ontario Canada
What is the top speed?
Warp 6. Anything above that puts it into the danger zone. lol
And the gas never made the glue or PVC weak?
It seems to be holding up just fine.
@@Gearhead.327how about now ?

I would NOT put one on a car or truck, Pvc will melt and will catch on fire if exposed to heat. Also when pvc melts/burns it gives off toxic vapors!
@@Gearhead.327 Thanks for your advice.

What type of glue you used and dose it hold up to gas ?
Pvc glue seems to be holding up to the gas but use at your own risk.
@@Gearhead.327 did you not experience any leaks
@@rubenganguiano1692 No leaks.

i need to make one laying on its side for under a scooter seat. filler cap on the side of the end with valve going down to carb.
not sure pvc will hold up for long gas will degrade the pvc fast look it up its a nono
I have plastic 5ltr reserve tanks and never had any problems , they sell them at every fuel station
Good idea 👍
Awesome! You had any trouble with weakening of the gas tank yet?
No. I used it just the other day, working great.
why in the hell do you need a fricken cleanout plug? just use caps on both ends. ? ? ?
How would he be able to fill the tank if he used caps on both ends?
