Hey mate love the videos. Quick tip I thought of.
Good to see another video mate and you back into 👍👍
Hey man got another tip u probably don’t need- I was having same issues with laminating over cured 450dbl bias with the longitudinal strands sitting on top of the cloth- I now use peel ply over almost all my laminations weather I’m laminating over it again or final lamination - I find for a hand layup the peel ply lays all the weave down uniform and also licks up any excess resin - the finish is amazing and fairing is far less painful
Great video! Very informative. Nice work! Aloha from Hawaii.😎🤙🏽🙏🏽
Nice idea with the subfloor rather than using pipes.
how do you keep the same bucket clean after putting so much resin through it? wouldnt acetone washing destroy the plastic?
vinylester resin goos up if there is ethanol in your fuel...
Hey Mate, your video couldn't come at a better time for me. Currently rebuilding a Caribbean Crusader I'm in North QLD, I'm also keen to make my own fuel tanks but they will be standalone tanks, Few questions. Which vinyl ester resin are you using for your fuel tanks and where did ya get it from?? Reason why I ask is cause I"m having trouble finding a vinyl ester that is compatible with petrol containing ethanol, even though our RULP contains no ethanol I'd like peace of mind If somehow e10 ends up in there as ethanol dissolves some vinyl esters and epoxy resins. Some of the the novalac vinyesters seem to be resistant. Trojan fiberglass sells a bisphenol vinylester which from what i read are not as good as novalac vinylester but still waiting to here back on that one. the other option I'm considering is coating with Caswell tank sealer which is a novalac epoxy. Interested to hear your thoughts.
Hey man, why aren't you using 1708 instead of having to use chop and double bias - halves the time and same result?
Did your boat have a keel stringer ,if so is the price you put in going to be strong enough ,just trying g to work out my set up
Any reason you are using waxed resin instead of flowcoat?
What do you think the total cost was?
