Love the videos, great job! I agree with your one statement 8-10’s to the naked eye should not show much of a difference. Given a 8 is still mint. Though on the other hand, I don’t think a card should grade an 8 if it shows “light chipping” or “off center” etc. To me, that no longer makes it mint, but many people expect 8’s. I'm finding as of recently it more about a lucky submission rather than a single card. I just had a lucky 12 card submission. I got nine 10s on modern brady's. Although the brady rookie market is down I find low pop brady parallels do well because there are so many brady player set collectors. A low pop 10 does well. It's sort of like how oddball gem mint Ryan's would do a decade ago. There are a lot of ryan master set collectors out there & if you get a low pop gem mint oddball set its a big dollar card acquired for cheap.
I wonder if PSA keeps track of serial numbered cards that are graded? For example, If I have a PSA graded card 3/5 and I send it in raw to regrade and one of the graders checks and sees that 3/5 has already been graded PSA 7, I would assume that they would take the regrade fee and just send the card back with the same grade. From what I've seen no, I fact a sgc 10 I'd rate higher. With psa, the leeway for a 10, especially the older submissions, are more like sgc 9.5s. They are also way more consistent so you know a 10 is a 10 the vast majority of the time ( human error not withstanding).
@richardbianco9674 so why not bypass that ( human error ) and grade with a company that gives you a ton of information on why it was graded the way it was? I know Chris has way too much money tied up in psa to try a new company with results.

Question that just popped in my head…do you think PSA/other grading companies assess each bulk order as a whole??? Is it within the realm of possibility that they have certain quotas for each card, parallel, grade, etc that they have to stay within to maximize profitability? As always, thanks for the great content, Chris!
Im guessing you felt strongly on some of these 9's, otherwise you wouldn't have sent him in. If you are looking at 9 or 10, if the 9 wont cover the cost of grading, I would prob not grade them, but Im not doing this for a living.
Great question. As someone who does this for a living and pays bills with it, sending the majority of these to SGC is really not an option as the resale value just isnt there.
What do you think about how inconsistent PSA has been ? It doesn’t make sense for them to have changed their grading standards but we still value PSA 10s from all years (roughly) the same.
By changing their grading standards, PSA admitted that all cards graded before the change are over graded. What should collectors take from this? My take is that PSA grading is no better than anyone else’s grading system except they charge you through the nose to do it. When will people wake up?
The 93 sp chipper. We know the foil cards are condition sensitive. Congrats on the grade. I’m curious why Chipper gets high grades while Jeter doesn’t have as many (percentage wise) Is it because of the value difference or is it something else ?
Its probably mainly due to the fact that many more Jeters are sent in. A Jeter in a "7" quality might still be worth sending in, so a lot of people do. While a Chipper in a "7" quality is not, so most people do not.
Thanks for your reply. It makes sense to me. You’re absolutely right. When I have some time I will research it a little more. How many 9’s and 10’s exist for each player. I would think a lot of cards go back and forth to crossover. Between PSA , SGC and Bgs/Bvg. It seems every time a card changes hands there is always the potential for a crossover. I haven’t looked yet however I’m thinking there are more PSA 9’s of Chipper than Jeter.
One thing I hate most about Panini cards is that unlike card companies of the past they never have a different image on the back of their cards. It's such a lazy idea and very uninteresting. How were designs of the 90s better than today considering technology?
I wonder if Ohtani receives a lot of 10's to bring the value down. Usually PSA 10's add value, but since apparently they're not very difficult to receive that grade...maybe not. Just my theory anyway. Probably isn't the case for some of his other higher end rookie cards that, are very low number.
The irony of Karl Malone and Deshaun Watson being back to back. I know 'the mailman' is in, the basketball hall of fame. But truly garbage. I'm that much more glad that, Jordan and, the Bulls beat them back in the day. Twice. Lol.
Hey Chris, great video as always! Are these cards that you bought as singles with the intent to grade or were these part of a collection that you purchased?
I want to sell cards too. The only thing that prevents me to do so is that i dont know what to charge for shipping. Because i need to right that price, but not knowing from where the buyers gonna be, i cant know in advance how much it gonna cost... So how to know ? 🤷🏻
You don't guess, you let the system determine cost. EBay will calculate based on where they are. If you have an idea of about where a card will end up ( if doing auction) you can add that much insurance to the overall cost by adding the a few bucks into the handling section
Explain to me the two ‘94 Arod’s value please. You said raw they’re $15 a card and graded one would be $20 and the other $5. So why wouldn’t you just crack the one that’s worth $5 graded and sell it raw?!

A+ for effert. The graders were stingy.
You think psa isn’t as hardcore on 10s on ohtani cause they already know it’s so high pop, whats another few 10s on top?
Psa is showing once again they don’t want to stay in business with the inconsistencies.
Hi Chris, sent you an email, if you could find a moment to check it out.
Seems about right a few 10'$ a lot of 9's and a few wtf?
The irony of Karl Malone and Deshaun Watson being back to back. I know 'the mailman' is in, the basketball hall of fame. But truly garbage. I'm that much more glad that, Jordan and, the Bulls beat them back in the day. Twice. Lol.
You'd be a much better Grader than those PSA Kids...if you wanted to take a massive pay cut.
Hey Chris, great video as always! Are these cards that you bought as singles with the intent to grade or were these part of a collection that you purchased?
Almost all of these were part of collections I bought.
Any recommendations on a template to catalog your cards? Is there an app? Excel template?
I just use excel but there are lots of online catalog companies that offer that service.
@@collectorinvestordealer would you ever share the format/info you use to track? I have to imagine it’s hard to keep track of all your stuff
@@richardbianco9674 OK, thank you for the info. 👍🏼
I sent in 51 card and got back 18 10s 23 9s and 10 lower would have been happier with more 10s but what can you do lol
Yeah thats sort of line with what I get these days
How often do you a bulk submission?
Maybe about one per month or so.
Biggio "Low End Hall of Famer"? Reminds me of what they call someone who finishes last in their medical school graduating class...Doctor.
Explain to me the two ‘94 Arod’s value please. You said raw they’re $15 a card and graded one would be $20 and the other $5. So why wouldn’t you just crack the one that’s worth $5 graded and sell it raw?!
I see, I see. Good explanation.
love the vids - u have any plans on being at the burbank card show in February?
I am going to try to make Burbank in February as I have never been
@@collectorinvestordealer nice!!! It'll be my first real card show since I was a kid!! Hope to see u there!

We have a winner!
Be honest don’t shill for psa you can’t run a business like this
2018 BC Ohtani batting in a 10 has gone from 1,300 to 535 in 3 month
It's cale mackare
Any advice on how to guess the grade a card will get?
Cards are in the tank, almost worthless now. Many have dropped 60-70% in value
I wish.
