Not always a bad thing having FWD over AWD, if you rolling race a Golf R in a Cupra 300 you can beat them due to weighing almost 200kg less

Own a 2019 Cupra 290 myself, first mod will be a IWS developments turbo back exhaust then uprated clutch before I stage 3.. Think I'm going to bypass stage 1 and 2.
Good to see Harry's car getting a review. Great build. These cars do go under the radar which is good, do love upsetting people when they try showing off as they arent in your face design wise

Cool car, but you don't see many of these around because they just burn tyres for fun, straight line roll car at that spec, that power would be more suited to an R or s3.

Stock fuel pumps as well on that nvm turbo . I live not to far from the oldbury tuning company . How does it compare power wise with your m140 ? Bhp figures Don’t tell the whole truth . Would it rinse your m1 considering over 100 bhp more ?
Power is a lot more attainable in this, but surprisingly traction is a little better in the 140 (mainly down to the diff). Either way, a drag rave between the two would be interesting!

The engine isn't forged as far as I'm aware

These engines can take up to nearly 600bhp without forging with right tuning

Christian Baxter no u can’t get near 600hp out of stock u need forged piston and rods after u turn these up at 520hp witch it still bloody good for stock engine I was reading it up on seat racing company

Lastname Firstname your one of the lucky ones then which must have a decent IS38 turbo. I went down to R-Tech to get my Cupra remapped and when they was checking the car over they said there was quite abit of play in the turbo shaft and advised me not to get it done so i didnt. Driving down from Leeds i was more than pissed off!
@@peterbennpan7288 Dunno I just have an R600 intake, racingline turbo elbow, racingline turbo muffler delete, a GFB DV+ (I've replaced the original rev C DV with a rev D one), Racingline stage 1 ECU, Racingline DSG tune. Next step will be a Racingline Intercooler, and a Milltek 200 sport cat downpipe and a Stage 2 ECU. (probably after this virus madness is over), I wqas thinking of having my turbo done by TTE, but it takes too long, (I am not in the UK)
I shouldn't have watched this, due to all this Corona crap I'm now waiting on my new Cupra which was meant to come a week ago. No idea when I'll get it now
You can't put 460bhp through that car, your really only using 350hp to the tarmac max!!!

Funny you say that, my Cupra with 484bhp has no issues above 40mph with putting power down. Plus the drivetrain loss is minimal 👍🏼
Matt Daines they put the power down surprisingly well you know. We used FastR 0-60 timer and got 4.85 in my dads *Stock* facelift Leon Cupra 290! I understand there gets a point we’re you can’t use that power going to the front wheels but they cope perfectly fine with 300hp ( there abouts ) so with a good set of tyres in the dry I am sure it’s just fine!
Insurance companies wanted 2k to insure me on a Cupra 300 2017. But for a Golf R 2016 they wanted £900. You can guess what i'm now looking at getting phaha.

Get some Michelin PS4S and a power powerflex hybrid mount. It will stick like shit.

@@JoshGrip7 It's stiffer than the factory mount, and reduces engine rocking (the engine movement is a big factor which causes wheel hop)
The downside is that the car will vibrate more but it's not that noticable tbh
