I have a GA6HP26Z in a 2011 335D, I have a rough 2-3 upshift but only at low speed low load, if I apply 60+% throttle it shifts like a dream. I changed my fluid, pan and seals and the old fluid looked really good for 100,000 but it didn’t help my rough shift. Very strange issue as all the rough shifts I’ve ever run into got worse with higher load and speeds but this one gets better. Ever seen something like that? I’m considering a sonnax zip kit and solenoids but I’m worried it won’t fix it

Hi Gary thanks for another great video, I used one of your previous 6hp videos to help me rebuild the valve body on my 2006 X5 3.0 diesel and it was a massive help (even though I have 37 years as a tech), unfortunately the rest of the transmission 165000mls is slipping in 1,2. I have bought a low mileage 6hp26x( also gen1) but the valve body has a A51/B51 plate and my previous body the A/B52, question is will my old body fit the new transmission as I fitted new solenoids and dampers etc.

    Gary,
    Great video.
I' not sure if your still responding, I have the following question.
I have a ZFHP26 transmission and when i removed the valvebody i saw that the input speed sensor (part Bosch 3267033) was melted at the sensor end.
I located a replacement with the same part# and it looks identical except the the 2 connections are joined together and form a spade attachment. In my transmission the 2 connections are soldered individually, it looks like the end spade connection was cut off.
Are you familiar with this situation, do i just need to cut off the spade connection on the replacement part and solder the 2 connections individually.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 6hp26 in a 2008 range rover that has thumping and hard shifting problems in low gears, generally at low speeds (115000 miles). I just did a full service, including changing all solenoids, bridge seal and jump tubes with high hopes that it may solve my issue... the fluid was dark and there was some fine matter on the magnets, but nothing that seemed out of the ordinary (pan dated 2014). I have put a few miles on it now and the problem is still there. Would you recommend that the shift adaptations be re-set or will it learn over the next few hundred miles that it has new solenoids? If the problem does not resolve with a reset would you recommend a valvebody overhaul before going further? Your video is very good and gives me confidence I could complete this procedure.
