I bought a Schott 519 in an L 2 weekends ago, it fit lovely in the shoulders but was a tent around the mid section, the M was a nice fit around the mid section but too tight around the shoulder arm holes and was quite constricting.. sadly I had to return the jacket, but was able to find a nice enough and slightly comparable jacket from All Saints for half the price in a size M and it fits how I wish the Schott fitted.. I still plan on getting a fine high quality leather jacket in the near future.... very informative video BTW.
I actually like having 1 size bigger and then get the sleeves shortened. I guess i just like a roomy jacket better then a tight one that you wear waiting for it to stretch.
I'm agree with you man.. Hard to find a right leather jacket which fit me since i am a short guy. With 5.5 tall, i've to find 23 to 24 length jacket and it seems harder to find that size on a double rider. Lucky me i found a vintage made japan double rider which seems fit me as you describe here. Thank you man..
Hey guys pretty late but Zara of all places has a cropped length biker in buffalo leather for $200 this season and it was worth every penny. Fit looks better than my Allsaints!
Me too. I tried like 10 XS perfecto jackets from several brands. Always too big and the sleeves are way too long every time. It's not for me unfortunetly.
I know my answer is two years late, but it may help someone else. Any short skinny guy who wants a well fitting motorcycle jacket should look into getting an iconic Saint Laurent L01 designed by Hedi Slimane in a woman's size. It's virtually the exact same jacket in the same slim cut. If the price for a brand new one is too steep for you, look for a used one on vestiarecollective, therealreal, and of course ebay. Good luck!
Leather jackets are a “hit or miss.” Do not buy a jacket and hope to tailor it *in any way/form.* If it doesn’t fit, leave it alone. Find another brand. I have have similar experience with 3 leathers. The torso is either too long/baggy/wide, or, the arms are too long. The one thing i 100% agree with the presenter is the jacket should NEVER be longer than where your pants pockets are for easy access. Arm length, that largely varies. If you’re riding a motorcycle, maybe you can deal with length going down to your thumb knuckle, assuming you’re stretched out to operate the motorcycle. Typically, I like my jackets to be wrist length. When you try on a leather jacket, it’s ideal to do so with type* of outfit you plan to wear it with whether that is a t shirt, sweater, button down Oxford. Layering under a leather jacket (like the one he is wearing) is not realistic.
damn i got two leather jacker one is just a tad bit small the sleeves expose some of my wrist but the larger one has like 1/2 droopy shoulders should i just wear the smaller one ?
Schotts are nice but I’d say: 1.) their sleeve can be tight 2.) they seem to make torsos roomy / airy (aka loosest part of the jacket) I am 5’11”, weight 200 lbs, muscular 📌
What Schott model? I agree the sleeves can be snug BUT “roomy” is not how I’d describe them (at least not in the biker jacket) they’re kinda snug even with the appropriately fitted jacket
I promise that nobody is judging you for a little bit of belly, as long as you dress well and are kind and confident you’ll have hoes for days. My friends and I are are college age and ALL prefer dudes built like heavy weights from the 80’s or a little heavier :)
I have the same issue and would like to know the answer because pretty much every jacket I come across has a standard length across sizes. Even if I size down to an XS the length would still only be slightly shorter than the S size, so they always generally fall around my jean pockets.
@@5epCoUk sucks man 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ literally same thing, I got my leather jacket to be XS and it still drops under my belt line to my pockets, thinking of starting to shop at women’s section crop tops maybe those will fit me right 😂😂😂
@@ramzinasser5387 I know how you feel! The funny thing is though that because I have long legs but a short torso and wear slim jeans, I don't think it probably matters too much. As long as the jacket isn't making you look short. I found that if I want to have a jacket fall on my belt line it would need to be a 23" length, and no men's jacket company makes them this short unless they are custom. I did try my GF's jacket on to test a shorter length that fell right on the bottom of my belt line, and I actually found that it looked a little weird because of my longer legs. So I wouldn't worry too much about the jacket length Nazis!
I’m right there with you. Realize different companies make different cuts. Find the right style* and from the right company*. Very important. @@CeRSiete1 Best thing you can do contact a leather shop in Leon Mex , they might solve your problem and for sure will be cheaper than getting a tailor in USA.

I am 5-7 and having trouble figuring out what to buy. I am looking on ebay and IT IS A MINE FIELD. fOR INSTANCE ONE LISTING OR STORE HAS A SIZE CHART. I have a 44 chest with arms down and their chart recommends a 50" to accommodate a 42-44" in chest But the sleeves for this jacket are 27 inch I measure my sleeve length middle of neck to cuff line or wrist and would need a 30" for flex exc when bending arm. Or am I over thinking it.?
Looks like the style of a biker jacket, yet it somehow looks cheap, like it is made out of vinyl and way too thin to offer any protection for riding a bike.
I am 6.5 ft tall , 117kg around 220ld if not wrong , 48 shoulder , 44 chest . 36 waist and bit long monkey arms and I do go to gym so big arms too . Don’t know which schott jacket to go for . As I can’t fit and try them as I am from Australia. Can anyone suggest Which cafe racer jacket to go for a for a regular winter use . Not much of riding but lot of Driving . Would like something in thick leather , cow or horse hide leather. As I feel they are more durable. @schott .... help me out ...... please.

It´s gonna be really expensive to fix it , You´d better keep it like that or sell it on eBay and buy another one.
