As a student pilot I understand the importance of the flight simulator. Flight training is very expensive, and we try to progress as quickly as we can with tools such as a flight simulator. I find it offensive to think of the Emeo as a toy. It is an excellent tool for helping the musician progress through his learning process. You would never hear a pilot say that the flight simulator does not help. Now I am really proud to be able to present this extraordinary practice instrument . The team of people that built this instrument are highly intelligent, technical experts and musicians. They didn’t make the Emeo to replace a conventional saxophone. It’s a practice horn.

Thank you for your kind response. In my view, the EMEO deserves positive attention. It's a solution for many problems we might have as saxophonists. I will continue to practice on my alto saxophone, but now I have also the Emeo to practice whenever this is not possible on my saxophone.

Felicity, great presentation. Might have been a good addition to mention that you had the full licensed Respiro which costs $. The free version that Emeo came with is good for set up, but I was disappointed in the sound files that it came with. I expected to hear a good flute or other instrument. The ones offered almost disappointed me. I thought -is that all there is? That sounds awful. I started to hunt down swam files to buy at great additional expense. But I’m pleased I bought it don’t worry. Hopefully EMEO will add a downloadable version of individual instruments or a suite of instruments that are pleasing to hear (like your flute -beautiful).
I am sorry you aren’t satisfied with the Respiro software sounds. I got the full license version as a gift because the Emeo team was pleased with my review. If I would mention it, it would raise unnecessary envy or criticism from the audience. You can look for some other sound libraries for the electronic wind instruments if you don’t like the Respiro Software. I use a few sounds only and I use the Emeo mainly as a practice instrument. I am now on a one-year-long music tour and I have the Emeo with me so I can practice in the hotel room when I need it.
Wow this is exactly what I have been looking for, the sax is a very loud instrument and there are times when you just can't play, especially at night. The feature where you can add synth sounds is great, I will book mark this site and make plans on getting one soon. And by the way YOUR GORGEOUS and a pretty good sax player.

Oh wow! I absolutely love it. This would be perfect for me as I am bedbound/disabled and I struggle a little bit with the alto saxophone (although pushing on). I just started learning and I can see just how mush this would make my life easier and enjoyable while learning. Only issue is the price...maybe one day. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed watching x

Great review on the Emeo Felicity. I am currently using a Roland Aerophone AE-05 running a stand-alone SWAM Tenor Sax connected to an iPhone via wireless Bluetooth Midi in a "Live" environment. Being wireless gives me the opportunity to move around the stage and I would like to do the same with the Emeo but experiencing some latency glitches with this setup. Been told I could alleviate the latency problem with a direct wired connection, but that would somewhat hinder the ability for stage movement. Please advise of a good setup or what I might do to get the best of both worlds.

I was initially thrilled about the Emeo, but lately, I've run into some issues that have made me hesitant to perform live with it. I've decided to keep using it as a practice instrument for now. It's a bit of a bummer, but I'm hopeful that the Emeo team will provide some solution.
@Felicitysaxophonist Hey Felicity, great to hear from you and glad that your still rock'in the Emeo. I am currently using the Emeo connected via B/T to an iPad/SWAM configuration and latency isn't too bad, but not ready for prime time yet. Emeo has now released a new firmware upgrade which I installed and it seems to work better. They also said that they would be implementing a wireless solution soon so can't wait for that. Cheers!

You have to contact with the Emeo team . They will be happy to help . I am playing my Emeo at the hotels during the music tour and had no problem with it
Great idea, too bad the virtual sounds, like the flute, is far poorer than just about any virtual flute I have heard. However this may be a really terrific wind controller to use with samplemodeling and audiomodeling software. It is unclear whether it produces jaw vibrato - given that you were blowing thru a tube. Windcontrollers that allow jaw vibrato have a sensor that senses the pressure placed on the reed. If that is missing, then the EMEO is very much less interesting.
I am sorry, I don’t have a time for arguing online. I am really very busy. I personally love the flute sound. I recently posted a new video clip called You. ua-cam.com/video/h3i1U2EBuhw/v-deo.html I play solo with the Emeo in the middle of the song. I have got a lots of compliments for it. I will definitely keep on playing the EMEO.
Inspring! I Played the tenor sax for over 40 Years and recently had my right pinky amputated.... I am devastated since my entire life was centered on performing since attending Berklee for 2 years. I have been looking for a way back to performing, and maybe this could be the start?
Not really. The Emeo doesn't have many saxophone sounds. I appreciated this intelligent choice. You can adjust your sounds instead in the Respiro Software and create something unique.

I have a question. I assume the sound is not produced by vibrating the reed like a traditional saxophone. So how do you "tonguing" on this instrument to create a brief break? Or is there any other method that is only used on this instrument and other wind synths? Thanks.

Nice concept, but I think it's not worth the price. If the issue is the silence there are plenty of places where you can go to practice and if you do not want to make an effort on adapting yourself on the instrument challenges, well, maybe you do not really want to learn playing sax.

Great review on the Emeo Felicity. I am currently using a Roland Aerophone AE-05 running a stand-alone SWAM Tenor Sax connected to an iPhone via wireless Bluetooth Midi in a "Live" environment.
Being wireless gives me the opportunity to move around the stage and I would like to do the same with the Emeo but experiencing some latency glitches with this setup. Been told I could alleviate the latency
problem with a direct wired connection, but that would somewhat hinder the ability for stage movement. Please advise of a good setup or what I might do to get the best of both worlds.
I appreciate your amazing feedback! I just finished reading your comment and I must say, it's great to hear from someone who shares similar experiences. I was initially thrilled about the Emeo, but lately, I've run into some issues that have made me hesitant to perform live with it. I've decided to keep using it as a practice instrument for now. It's a bit of a bummer, but I'm hopeful that the Emeo team will provide some solution.
@Felicitysaxophonist Hey Felicity, great to hear from you and glad that your still rock'in the Emeo. I am currently using the Emeo connected via B/T to an iPad/SWAM configuration and latency isn't too bad, but not ready for prime time yet. Emeo has now released a new firmware upgrade which I installed and it seems to work better. They also said that they would be implementing a wireless solution soon so can't wait for that. Cheers!

Just got my Emeo. The 3 lights remain in amber and won't change even after several attempts with the screw driver button.
You have to contact with the Emeo team . They will be happy to help . I am playing my Emeo at the hotels during the music tour and had no problem with it

Great idea, too bad the virtual sounds, like the flute, is far poorer than just about any virtual flute I have heard. However this may be a really terrific wind controller to use with samplemodeling and audiomodeling software. It is unclear whether it produces jaw vibrato - given that you were blowing thru a tube. Windcontrollers that allow jaw vibrato have a sensor that senses the pressure placed on the reed. If that is missing, then the EMEO is very much less interesting.

I play solo with the Emeo in the middle of the song. I have got a lots of compliments for it. I will definitely keep on playing the EMEO.

Not really. The Emeo doesn't have many saxophone sounds. I appreciated this intelligent choice. You can adjust your sounds instead in the Respiro Software and create something unique.

None my dear. I don't enjoy the imitation of a saxophone; I prefer other sounds in the Respiro software that are more interesting to me.😊

I have a question. I assume the sound is not produced by vibrating the reed like a traditional saxophone. So how do you "tonguing" on this instrument to create a brief break? Or is there any other method that is only used on this instrument and other wind synths? Thanks.
It's exactly as to play a traditional saxophone. I would say even easier

Nice concept, but I think it's not worth the price.
If the issue is the silence there are plenty of places where you can go to practice and if you do not want to make an effort on adapting yourself on the instrument challenges, well, maybe you do not really want to learn playing sax.
When I can't practice flying, I fly a flight simulator. When I can't practice my saxophone, I play the Emeo. Easy-breezy.
