It's more than just pronouns, we're tired of companies making media hard to enjoy, people trying to silence opinions does not make this go away.

People accepting the nonsense in Starfield and other forms of media that pushes this nonsense is how woke companies win, submitting to this garbage makes things worse and fighting against it does more than consuming it.

whats scary is that as soon as someone mods it so that male and female are an option, nexus mods will most likely ban it. Even mods do not have full freedom anymore

They have done it for Baldur's Gate 3. Nexus banned a white version of the black guy Wyll. But everyday we have no choice but to see inclusion and raceswappings, always white people replaced by black ones, in history or in folklores.
That's true and the people that say "mods will fix it" need to understand that mods can easily be removed or banned.
And this is why people need more third party structures to have alternatives, that way its harder for any one structure to impose their woke policies on communities as we can take our engagement elsewhere.
Luckily Nexus doesn't have a monopoly on mods. But they're so big that most mod authors won't want to make anything remotely controversial, for fear of being banned from nexus, and that definitely stifles creativity in the modding community.

Your political plays will not change the outcome. "boycotting" is part of the consumerism anyway, like labor unions. I am a pure gamer at heart and am willing and able to ignore propaganda when it's a good game. The problem is, this game is shit. I never thought I'd refund a BGS title.
it's not just the liberals defending the game, it's the conservatives too, I've seen that a lot lately, woke games being defended by right wing channels or anti-woke channels, an example of that is Endymion endlessly defending Baldurs gate 3, also note how Endymion's starfield videos used attractive female character illustrations when the game has absolutely zero good looking characters.
i'm not right wing or left wing i'm not fooled by those illusions, but i can guarantee you that most of these so called anti-woke channels are controlled opposition, more often than not they will pretend that a game is not woke and promote the game, not only that but they pretend that the game is being attacked by liberals just to entice conservatives to buy the game, baldurs gate 3 was an example of that. trust me you will see this happening more and more, (woke game comes out, liberals complain about something, anti-woke channels make videos about it praising the game, people buy the game). Liberals learned that conservatives can be manipulated towards this behavior when they saw what happened with hogwarts legacy, at the time i knew it would lead to this and here we are. thankfully Az threw a wrench into all of this, because now people like Endymion don't know what to make of the situation since he was shilling for the game pretending it wasn't woke.

You're right, there's a lot of so called anti woke content creators defending Starfield on UA-cam and on social media, the same thing happened with Baldur's Gate 3, a lot of disingenuous talking points from those defending Starfield and Baldur's Gate 3.

The Mass Effect games (1-3, not the modern day remasters) are definitely better than Starfield, even the Star Ocean games are better than Starfield, there's just better options out there besides Wokefield.

Starfield doesn't just have pronouns-- it has characters that are gay and trans. On Paradiso, one of the houses on the beach had a gay couple sleeping in bed when I went inside lol. Then there's doing a quest for a gay man who talks about his husband on the ECS Constant. Then there's the trans clone that's female but was cloned from a man. I even stumbled onto a note where a man says a romantic goodbye to another man. It's forced in everywhere in the game.
And the apologists will say it has no affect on the game when in reality it does, Starfield is woke propaganda whether consoomers want to accept it or not.

Saying "no" to all forms of entertainment these days is incredibly easy since most modern games are complete excrement. I learned a long time ago not to buy things that were against my principles (like microtransactions). I never felt like I was missing out.

AAA gaming was hijacked for quite some time now. It is no longer form of escapism.
I really miss the X360/PS3 era, that was the last generation when games were neutral, no stupid politics, no stupid gender ideology, just games.
Only Asia can save us with old-school gaming, although I feel that even there the AAA studios are slowly getting poisoned. Square Enix is definitely on the poisonous path, Capcom is somehow resisting, Sony Japan no longer exists, Koei Tecmo embraced the ESG according to document that was published online.
The company that created Ninja Gaiden & Dead or Alive is embracing ESG.
Whatever, I don't care about modern gaming, the amount of amazing old games will bring me all the escapism and joy that the modern gaming industry doesn't want to fulfill.

I don't really understand reactions like this. Don't you have the choice to make a masculine character and give it "he/him" pronouns and thereby have the experience you want? I don't know the content of the game but what else is upsetting? Are there trans NPCs? If someone is making a game about a fictional universe full of fictional societies and fictional characters, don't they have the artistic freedom to make all that stuff how they want to? Can't the fictional societies have whatever values/tolerances the author wants?
Y'all are claiming that the only reason they included these themes is because of societal pressure from people with certain political agendas. But if they capitulate to your demands to stop including anything you deem "woke", wouldn't they still be caving to societal pressure to make their game a certain way, just caving to you instead? So isn't the reality that you just want the game to reflect YOUR political values?
Furthermore, what game is there that couldn't be interpreted to have political agendas? In the last Rimworld DLC they added children and pregnancy, including the option to terminate pregnancies. Is that a politically motivated feature to appease pro-choice people? In Fallout NV Ceasar's Legion practices slavery and you have the option to be friends with and support them. Is that a politically motivated inclusion to appease pro-slavery individuals? In many games like Civilization or Tropico you can choose to be capitalistic or socialistic. Uh oh those are politically-charged ideals. How about city builders that you let you use green energy vs fossil fuels?
In literally any game, someone could find something to interpret as political and get triggered if it goes against their politics. Most of us are just mature enough to accept that every make-believe world isn't going to be a perfect representation of our personal idea of utopia.
If you're so consumed with being angry about a particular political issue, such that you have a meltdown and can't focus or enjoy anything when you're reminded of that issue, you should seriously consider therapy. That's not an insult. You really could improve your quality of life by learning to ignore stuff like this and not be so triggered, and that's a very attainable therapy goal for most people.

I didn't really start noticing all the woke garbage in the game until I was 40-50 hours in. Most power figures in the game are females. All the villains are white men. Faction leaders are female. The Mantis is female. The UC console leader is a female. The badass general in the side quest is female. The head of constellation is female. All the females have short hair and have men bodies. All the dancers in Neon are men. Have all the gameplay designers at BGS been replaced by lesbian or feminist butch women?
The most notorious war criminal in the game is a black man. The Mantis is a title that has been handed down through several people including both men and women. The Crimson Fleet is led by a man. The Freestar Rangers are lead by a man. You hate women and minorities so much that you think the little representation that they get is too much. Touch grass, nerd.
The game still lets you be a pretty evil space pirate that lets you fight the military.

This is a good monologue on the current state of Gaming. Any current media really. The wokeness in Starfield is pervasive. There's a clip in this video of a npc revealing that she was essentially a man trapped in a female cloned body, there's another clip online of a black character revealing that him and his deceased husband are raising a daughter, you can see it on X/Twitter posted by American Krogan.
Not to mention the surplus of trans npcs populating the game world, so it's definitely a lot more then 0.01 % woke, and the existence of these things are for the sake of normalizing gender ideologies. I rolled my eyes when I saw the pronoun option in game. Then I ignored it and kept playing. Game's extremely fun and I could care less about anything else. As far as "woke propaganda" goes this is fairly trivial in my opinion. Seen much worse in other games/media. Same with the options on gender in Cyberpunk 2077. Didn't care then, still don't now.
