For those that don't know, Phillip Rhee and his brother Simon are very active in stunt directing and coordinating for major movies to this day.
Phillip Rhee should have gone big. He’s got the fighting skill and definitely has the charisma going on. Shame the Best of the Bests were his pinnacle.
Totally agree! The guy is awesome. I can't believe I never heard of him before these movies
He should have been in Mortal Kombat.
Phillip Rhee looks like a million bucks. Dude is ripped.
@@RedEyeReviews fun fact John woods first American movie was suppose to be something called killshot or something and philph rhee was suppose to star but American producers said they wouldn't pay to see an Asian lead in an American movie it's one of the reason he started his own movie company
Gina Gershon=🔥🔥🔥🔥😍
Also…….”Jason voorhees” himself is again, in another “best of the best” Kane hodder 💯💯💯
How did this pretty minor action series always get such an amazing cast? Gina Gershon rarrr. Only just realized one of the villains is the big scary mutant from the Hills Have Eyes remake. Not bad for a 90s action sequel, remember part 4 having some decent action too. When the bad guy started slurring after the final fight, he sounded like Sloth from The Goonies.
For real! Some pretty big names. And hahah it was Sloth for sure
34k views and 925 likes? The hell wrong with people. This guy creates gold. By watching shit, yes, but still. Gold.
Philip rhee should've been a bigger star. I wonder what would have happened to his career If only he and John Woo made that Movie call "KATO".
For sure! He is awesome
His English is way too good to be an Asian movie star. Gotta have bad English to convince us how good your Kunfu is. Thems the rules
that throat slit training tho ... like wtf :))
Eric "A Talking Cat!?!" Roberts.
8:20 Dude, where did nazi guy get a Klingon knife? Are they trying to imply he’s a trekkie? Cuz that’s f’d up 😂🤣😂🤣
I loved this series but part 3 was actually my favorite.
Just saw movie clip scenes so awesome cool. Phillip Rhee.Unbelievable!🍿🎬📽
Eric Roberts was probably recovering from surviving The Specialist!!! (one of my favorite 90's era Stallone films)
Seeing that you have 4 Phillip Rhee movies on your channel I believe that you absolutely must review 1984's Furious.
And shame that Rhee didn't get bigger, I wish he'd make at least more low budget movies.
Oh absolutely! Added to the list
8:18 That little tidbit had me listing those movies, and I bursted out laughing when I got to _On Deadly Ground_ 🤣
Great review, I like the way you addressed the uncomfortable-ness of this movie. Reminds me of the movie 'Crazy in Alabama" which tried to blend questionable comedy (Melanie Griffith's wacky husband-decapitator) and racists (Meat Loaf's evil sheriff).
Best part of this one is Gina Gershon storming the knuckle-draggers' compound in her school bus. Don't p*** off a teacher!
And yes, as soon as you mentioned #4 features Russian mobsters, I thought "So it's a Seagal movie?"
Thank you! I honestly don't think I would have looked at this movie, had it not been in the Best of the Best series.
And I am not the person to make others feel bad. I like being happy. Movies make me happy :)
Oh but for real! Gina Gerson kicked major butt in this movie. I can't wait for the 4th and final movie. I hope he still does all his own stunts lol
@@RedEyeReviews At first I thought it was Lauren Cohan (Maggie from The Walking Dead) - I had to look twice and then I realized she would have been a kid at the time...
Phillip Rhee really sold the action scenes. Looking forward to #4!
@@parisgreen4600 oh Lauren Cohan. She is great but probably like 2 years old at the time haha. Would have been a weird romance for sure.
I hope 4 is good!
I love your Channel Brother your very funny keep up the fantastic work
Thank you so much!
Another Phillip Rhee movie you should check out is "Silent Assassins." He decapitates a ninja and throws up!
Thanks I had never heard of that one
Stunt Coordinator in all of the best of the best movies was a guy called Simon Rhee.
Yeah, Phillip rhee's brother. He was also in the first best of the best.
And the second one
Dude! Loving the reviews. Keep it up!
Thank you so much!
What's insane is this movie came out almost 30 years ago, but this is what people in today's coastal cities literally think everywhere in America beyond their city limits is like. And Canada just thinks everywhere in America is like this.
thankfully it's not everywhere, but it is unfortunately in way too many places.
I'd like to thank the creators of this movie for taking on such a controversial subject, and for proving once and for all racism is wrong!
Did Bogs from Shawshank just stab the drill sergeant from FMJ with a Klingon D'k Tahg?
Prop alert! That neo-nazi knife was used to kill Captain Kirk’s son in Star Trek III, and then by plenty of other Klingons in the franchise.
Oh amazing catch! I thought it looked to fancy and "futurey" for this hillbilly to have.
Awesome detail friend!
thanks for pointing that out. I just said the same thing before I saw your post
I thought there were only 2 movies lol. Great vid!!
Is it just me or are your subscriber numbers growing a little faster? Let’s hope this keeps up! Congrats!
Edit: Yes. You addressed my question at the very end. 😆
Right?! I hope it continues at this pace. Only can go up from here :)
Don't worry I was feeling strange too during the Tommy Lee money shot introduction.
Oh I remember seeing this movie before but I didn't know that this was BOTB part III.
These really were the original F&F weren't they? If there had been a Best of the Best 5, Tommy Lee would probably have gone into space.
I find it alarming that Shooter McGavin's barbecue apron says 'Jack the cook' on it. Bit of an escalation from 'Kiss the cook'
Driving home from Sd to Tijuana and right’now it a great time for a quick burger and a Review😂🙌🏾 I watch the Seagal ones over and over!
So glad you enjoy them!!
@@RedEyeReviews YES! Because I get to watch a whole cheezy action movie in 15minutes…so many I’ve never see like Comando, Ninja’s, Chuck Norries etc…so it’s nice watching a whole one in 15min🤣🙌🏾
@@alexquintana1031 I'm so glad :)
I hope "blood in blood out" is on your watch list
That dude walking around in his dirty underwear looks like Jake Paul!🤣
I saw where someone mentioned the movie, Furious. You absolutely HAVE to watch and review that one. Stars Simon and Phillip Rhee and is one of the most off-the-wall INSANE martial arts movies ever. Level 11 crazy. Please check it out!!
Absolutely! I'll make sure it's on the list :)
@@RedEyeReviews thank you sir, you will not be disappointed
Philip Rae was the truth I found this movie by mistake untitled in my VCR
Whoa.. I watched this movie. I actually kind of liked it back then. It was a guilty pleasure. I also felt Gina Gershon was kind of the poor man's Sandra Bullock... so, I had a little crush.
I don't get the whole _teachers drive school buses_ trope they have in some movies. I've never met a bus driver who is also a teacher, but I guess they have to illustrate that she's a teacher somehow. I'm surprised she didn't fight one of the racists by clapping erasers together and blinding him with chalk dust 🙂
Hahaj eraser weapons would be amazing. And a long ruler as a staff.
@@RedEyeReviews nah, the yardstick will have to be like a samurai sword! she'll have it in a sheath and everything 🙂
8:15 - holy crap! that white supremacists knife is a Klingon dagger from Star Trek
I saw the latter two films years later, and yeah they are ok in regards being mid90s straight to video action in the vein of the Van Dammes of the day. But they have zero spirit, and connection to the original. Tommy Lee's character is tacked in at the last minute here. The idea of continuing his character as a stranger in a strange town to save the day has been done to death in so many other action films of this genre. Tommy Lee just didnt belong in this environment, and I dont associate the later films to the original. That said, Phillip Rhee is incredible, and redicously underrated. Id loved to have seen him show up in say, any of the Marvel films, something like that. His fighting skills are a joy to watch.
That rock quarry looks like the one in The Walking Dead. But I looked online and the filming locations in this movie were in Ohio and Indiana.
Wow you read my mind lol... You also thought Sal Maroni and Batman. I thought it was a girl too but it was Lee lol.
Great minds think alike
I really wanna see this plot with a black marine now.
Excellent show
This was filmed in Rockport IN (I believe) was which is about 45 miles away from me. I can say that the portrayals of the racist dudes is accurate lol.
I remember these series, this one is very touchy subject, racist ###holes and racism.1995 I was in the army stationed at Ft Hood,Tx assigned to 1st Cav Div,I was a big film buff, anyone remember Block Busters and Hollywood vidoes??? Haven't watched this film in years and now I know why,too close to reality.
This movie feels like an episode of Walker texas ranger, with Phillip Rhee replacing Chuck Norris
11:56 - The same way you go from illegal street racing to saving the world by launching a car into space and fighting terrorist using a super magnet
This is literally the only movie in the series that I've seen lol
"It looked like a home movie." - Eric Roberts on this.
I enjoy all of these movies with a schlocky grain of salt as we are supposed to.
This movie, for what it is, is actually pretty damn good. It's actually my favourite of all 4 Best of the Best films and I'll still enjoy watching it till this day. Could have actually worked as a standalone movie as well, instead of being part of a franchise.
Spotted Kane "Jason Voorhees" Hodder in the stuntman credits
I’ve not seen this movie or part 4 yet but wouldn’t it have been cool if the whole movie Tommy had a green blazer on to taught Shooter 😂
15:25 priceless 😊
Why did the teacher turn the bus off 🤦🏽♂️
3:45 watch Killers Bodyguard. This is Samuel Jacksons Backstory in the Movie.
1:59 I thought that was Dwayne Wade for a second
Halfway through and they finally admit that they've been clowning around.
This feels like Walker Texas Ranger against Neo um poopheads .. weird
10:54 by the love of Spock! This movie is seemingly a Star Trek spinoff.
That's a Klingon D'k tahg dagger (yes, I had to Google the name).
A Star Trek rip off really how so
@@michaelcoulter1725'spin off'
@@FeeriiEekii but how is it a spin-off though
@@michaelcoulter1725 because they used Star Trek props.
Him and that
🙌LADYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY🙌
This movie was actually based off of Ricky The Dragon Steamboat’s early days in North Carolina. Just kidding. I wonder if there ever was a neo nazi ninja movie. Hmm, an evil ninja that’s REALLY evil, lol! >_
I'm disappointed Tommy didn't take Shooter to Red Lobster. Probably didn't have any coupons.
Description of part 4 sounds like half the plot of Enemy of the state.
Sometimes Britcoms don't translate. Some of the humor was lost on me. I did like the sassy grandmother who wanted them to wear tuxedos.
Please where can I find and download the movie?? I want to rewatch it
Wish i could help. I use Ebay for my movies mostly.
This is the last of the "Best of the Best" movies I've seen (that sounded odd). I have no idea why I've never bothered with 4, but I guess your review on that will make up for it...(?)
There was a lot of the booger sugar in the 80s. Would explain a lot lol
10:49 holy shit that is a Klingon D'k Tahg knife what the actual hell
Love these movies!
What's with the knife at 8:19? Are they racists or Klingons?
His name is pronounced R-H-E-E
Never seen 3 or 4 lol. Thank you.
Please review Gymkata.
Very soon!!
It's an RPG! Quick open a window!
Karate kick the hate out of them! On my ass laughing!!
a great movie i ever seen
You should do the 3 ninja movies
Absolutely
Just subbed
YOU are the best of the best
@@RedEyeReviews 3 was not good but I still like it because it
“Was “Tommy Lee. It bothered me so much when I was about 14 years old that I had nightmares[facts]trying to understand how Tommy was partly Native American. It is still hard for me to accept it all 😂.
Early Gina Gershon who reminds me more of early Sandra Bullock in this. Yeah this one felt out of place in the franchise out of all four, it feels "out of universe" with what came before (and after lol) would have liked too have seen the actual originally intended movie ..im thinking 1990's Wesley Snipes all the way (actually they could have used him in this for sure) ...also the actor who played the main bad racist Mark Ralston ..has has small parts in so many big movies (ALIENS and Lethal Weapon 2 just to name two) played a horrible character but he's awesome nice guy in real life ..but i suppose that goes for most actors that have sometimes play those roles as part of what they do. Also you make a great point about the orphaned child character IF they ever re boot this franchise ..start with THAT kid (now grow up)
I’ve seen best of the best 1 and 2 so many times. Growing up and doing Taekwondo and competing regularly best of the best was my movie! Like my Rocky. I remember when this came out I was so excited and it’s stayed in my mind for hire weird it is. I’ve always thought that this is like the weirdest movie I’ve ever seen just because it’s from the best of the best movies. I love word movies but this one is so out of place
Shooter McGavin, lol
This could've worked as a satire.... but as a serious action film it clashes horribly. I mean you can literally replace the villain with absoultely any generic villain and you still get the same stock action cliche movie.
So ... Why do you say he's tattoo is leaking ? Cause it's not .. each wing on he's back has bone and each bone has a claw
Good script. Could've been a EPIC movie with Spike Lee at the wheel, Jet Li in the lead & John Woo + Yuen Woo Ping doing the fight & action scenes!
I actually love it the way it is. It's a karate action movie but the performances were awesome and the message was good too. I love how defiant and fearless the reverend was against those Nazi pigs.
Sequels man. Trying to keep that gravy-train going, studios will try anything!
They made a 3rd one? Lol always knew shooter would turn his life around
I liked this movie..
Doesn't the best of the best concept get watered down the more films that they make .By the third film you should be questioning how there rating ' the best ' do they mean it's the best of this film ...
This movie will fit right into current narratives. From tournaments to social justice done in the most cartoonish way. Who’s this pretty lady: 😂
4:12 im glad Eric Roberts didnt came back LOL jesus this has nothing to do with the first 2 movies at all... this is the excact same thing with Halloween 3 not featuring Michael Myers
this movie should be called , " Hate is not the answer "
LOL this story line is all most cartoonish
Phillip Rhee needed a better agent. He had the looks and skill to be a legit action star and his acting was decent too, but he did this nonsense. There was no one around saying....."dude, maybe not this one"?
Nvr knew this existed and there's a nmbr 4 what have I been taught to watch thor love and thunder lol I want racist. Chinese machine guns weird accents lol
Doesn't the Chuck Norris' film "Top Dog" count as a comedic Karate white supremacists movie? Lol He fights Neo-Nazis in the film after all.
Oooo I haven't seen Top Dog! Do we need to add this to the list?
No, definitely don’t add it under any circumstances. Do K-9 though.
@@RedEyeReviews I only recommend you adding it if you want to poke fun at it like the Steven Seagal movie reviews. Lol
@@michaelmyers3709 If you think "Top Dog" is bad trying watching Chuck's other film "Forest Warrior"... It's absolutely horrendous. LOL
@@dominoeffect1989 then it MUST be added.
The super racist.
Who the hell cares about WS's anymore? The last gathering I heard about, they only tallied nine attendees, and were overwhelmed by 300 protesters. Telling everyone how bad they are doesn't stoke me up, it just makes me feel like a dork. Most people these days can't even tell the difference between a WS and a regular-ass patriot.
3:50 Awesome shot.
Thanks for letting everyone know you aren't a minority affected by racism.
My favorite part is the thought process of calling a chinese guy asian is borderline racist or insensitive but calling a black guy african isnt.. Do you realize how big africa is??
