Gibson, still a business, doesn't need people who "shred," what they need is to move guitars.

My buddy’s friend from highschool with Tom. My buddy lives here in Cleveland but they still talk. My buddy doesn’t act like he’s famous they literally were childhood friends. We ll Tom called him 5 weeks ago and told him to pick two colors and just sent them to him. He showed them to me today. He got the pink one and the white one. They are so nice and you can play anything you want on them. Metal punk or classic or country. Just anything. These are amazing. I can’t wait to get one

They've had Fender guitars made in China, and I'm pretty sure the Jim Adkins signature is a Fender made in China, I think they do it overseas only for signature artists who wanna make their guitars as affordable as possible, especially since squier no longer make signature guitars aside from the j mascis jm
@thelongestdongrod190 the Jim Adkins is made in Indonesia too. They don't have the tooling to make Starcasters in the States or Mexico. Tom's personal guitars use the Indonesian bodies
The CNC machines needed to make the Starcaster are no longer located in the US, so it makes sense to build the bodies in Indonesia at the Squier factory rather than build new machines just for one signature model.

@@tonedowne i think it's not the same. If Gibson makes import guitars, those are not "Gibson" branded, those are Epiphone branded. This is an indonesian Fender that costs the same as some mexican and USA Fender guitars, even some Charvel signature series made in Mexico.
Nothing interesting as a signature model compared to others stuffs (Petrucci signature, Michael Romeo, John Mayer signature ect ..).. but I have to admit, their design are pretty cool (feminine design and soft visually). Why not as a gift or for collectionner.
Looking at the specs your not really getting much for you money. Basic materials, basic fretboard, 1 pickup, a volume knob, and no steel frets? You could get a guitar with more for less money, simply paying for a name.
charging $1200+ for a Signature Squier is pretty lame, at the least the strats weren’t a massive cash grab, Fender really could have done something special with this..
These are so ugly IMO. They're just so plain, as if they were made to be "sticker-castered". The neck and headstock are wayy too dark and glossy, and the colors are like easter-pastels. I'm going with the iconic surf green Strat alllll dayyy.
They didn't tell us if it's a Set Neck, although I'll bet it is, and how about the neck length??? 24-3/4 or 25-1/2??? rather important, AND, How Much $$$ does it cost and how about a hard-shell made to fit case?????
