This is GNR in top form at their strongest before the bloated line-ups and the fall-out. Even Axl's monologue is crisp. It's performances like these from Slash and Izzy that immortalized Axl Rose in a larger than life-size billboard in the main shopping district of downtown Paris.

The brunt of the commercial responsibility fell on Axl, Slash and Duff since the first leg of the Use Your Illusion tour. All is not lost, however. The 2019 shows even pay homage to The Replacements in Salt Lake City.

This performance and the Tokyo-performance are my favorites because everything just fits in with Matt's drumwork, and seems so planned, when it really is imporvisation. Magnificent!

I think this is the best version of this song. The solo is crazier than it was in Tokyo. There are some licks and phrasé that are out of this world. The part Slash plays from 4:40 when they slow down and goes back up is crazy good. It's so crazy it nearly reminds of furious Hendrix. And at the beginning of Double Talking Jive here, Alex fires a shot at Warren Beaty, to whom he ''dedicated'' that song that day :-) These Paris dudes were very lucky fuckers that day bc they had Steven Tyler and Lenny Kravitz as guests too

I was so impressed though with Right Next Door to Hell, Live n Let Die stood out so much for the blinding Strobe Lights. Double Talking Jive and Perfect Crime was my favorites though...total ass kicking songs especially live. That was June of 91 and they released the records on September 17th of 91.. The longest 2 1/2 months of my life but we'll worth the wait.
Beautiful Youth comes once in a lifetime and in a blink of an eye it's gone make good use of your youth and you can go back and revisit those wonderful days......................

First, thank you so much for sharing this video. The band looks and sounds phenomenal. Gilby's rhythm playing which is really Izzy's part can be heard and sounds great. Duff's bass playing and overall presence sounds so cool here and most important, is audible. Just don't tell Lars.
I was there... It was in Paris, hippodrome de Vincennes, on saturday june 6th 1992. Guests were Soundgarden and Faith No More. Special guests on stage with G'N'R were Lenny Kravitz (performing "Fields of Joy" and "Mama Said") and later, Joe Perry and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, who played Yardbirds' cover "Train-Kept-A-Rollin'". Unbelievable !
