Definitely the peak of their musicianship. I saw them too in 93 during the Skins and Bones tour. But by that time it was clear they needed to take a break. I'm just glad it was more stripped down . The tour after Izzy left became bloated as hell. Tracy, Roberta, Teddy, and horn section / back up singers was a while lot for a " rock" band. Still great though. It's still early enough here in early 92 for Axl's voice to be not shot, ( plus they released this concert, so I'm sure they mixed it as well). Slash has never been better than he was during this period. His feel and emotion was second to none. I was lucky enough to see them in Aug of 88 opening up for Aerosmith in Albany. Two completely different bands. But both great in their own way
God, I was born in ‘93, and Guns is probably my favorite band of all time. I wish more than anything that I could go back in time and see them in their prime. Sounds like the two of you have got some great memories 🙌🏻

I heard " Fall to pieces in the joint for the first time , I was laying in my rack and all of the sudden I heard that familiar carnival style pic once indicative of Sweet child 'O mine , I thought Wtf , HELL YEAH ! So I wrote my wife about it immediately and she wrote me about it , Our letters crossed each other's in the mail , and so we did it again ,and once more , We were going through a lot but we were excited about Velvet Revolver and Contraband, and also to be on the same page about something for a change , A change it was coming things will never be the same. Ironically we were in our last of 14 years married , Fourteen years of silence, 14 years of pain . Could have gone much worse . Rest in peace Scott and so many others who had to leave us . I'm so thankful to have lived in the time frame of these artists The hardest rock n roll and soul ever.

Matt Sorum is an awesome drummer. I often wonder how different these songs would be if Steven played on them. Two different styles. It would be cool to hear both.
I like Matt on later stuffbut for earlier songs I prefer Stevens playing. Both were great.maybe it's just because I know the songs so well. I loved Matt's drumming with The Cult back in the day. So it's a weird thing in some ways.
Matt is clearly the better technical drummer. Steven tho, had....something. personality? a punchiness that really added to the songs. he wasnt just keeping a rhythm and adding fills, he was writing thoughtful parts.
Without doubt the best version of this, the amount of times I stick head cans on an lie back in appreciation of this masterclass. Band in there prime at time. An the back story of how the intro lyrics came to be 👏
Axl Rose é uma pessoa realmente diferente. Com todos os traumas e situações que muito complicadas em sua vida as quais nessa época ainda era muito latente nota-se em seus longos discursos que fazia nos shows falando a respeito da sua experiência vivida e quanto atrapalhou seu psicológico, mas nunca abalou algo que o salvou a vida. A auto confiança a certeza absoluta que daria certo na vida pois foi contemplado com um talento realmente diferenciado e era seu porto seguro, foi onde ele saberia que um talento desses tem que ser reconhecido pelo povo. É realmente saber que acredito que resolveu grande parte dos traumas, parou de usar drogas. Acho que ele conseguiu o que ele tanto precisava e nunca desistiu de arrumar uma forma de superar e viver com a consciência leve é muito importante vermos que o Axl sabia que era problemático, mas ele tinha realmente a vontade de melhorar, e não é fácil pra ninguém superar tamanhos traumas. O que o mantinha vivo e querer tornar-se numa pessoa melhor foi a música. E ele realmente faz a diferença.

Love this performance, my favourite Slash solo especially the clean part. The way he mixes the minor pentatonic/blues scale with the harmoic minor is chef's kiss (does a similar thing on The Godfather theme)
I saw them in monterrey MX for first time october 2022 and I know is not the same I have seen in videos but I almost cry when they apear inthe scenario 😅 i loved the show and i will go to see them again september 2023 to houston cause I love GNR

These guys were America to other nations. They represented a generation & the American way in the late 80’s early 90’s. They brought down the Berlin Wall with their cry’s of freedom.

Civil war is a powerful song still today in American context but I think Roger Waters Wall concert surpassed them in regard to the Berlin Wall.
