  • Martin Hewitt spent eight years as an officer in the Parachute Regiment before his military career came to a shattering halt when he was shot in the chest during a firefight with insurgents in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
He survived - but the severity of the injures resulted in the paralysis of his right arm and he was medically discharged.
But Martin has refused to be defined by his disability.
In an incredible story of resilience and determination, he has since represented Britain in downhill ski racing, scaled Mount Everest and walked to the North and South poles unsupported.
“I want to change the perception of what disabled people can achieve,” says Martin.
