    13:20 It took this long to remember that Nintendo has had C buttons before! It's just another button that will do different things in different settings, just like almost every other button. C doesn't stand for anything, the same way that A,B, X and Y don't stand for anything. It's just another button! I can't believe people are freaking out about the letter C when it isn't even a new concept!

      @Clever_Potato Місяць тому +2

      @edamchese3008 I mean, yeah it kinda does. Just like every game has different functions for different buttons, it'll change per game. Maybe sometimes it's a map button. Maybe it's an item button like the C buttons were for Zelda games on the N64. This is the same as looking at the Y button and saying "I wonder what it'll do". The answer is "it depends on what you're playing"

    • @edamchese3008
      @edamchese3008 Місяць тому +7

    I don’t understand why everyone thinks C stands for a word. On Nintendo controllers, letters are for game control buttons, while symbols are for non-game control buttons, like the home button or the screenshot button. So the fact that this button has a C on it tells me that it is a new option for games to use as a control in game.

      My theory is that you hold the C button with your right thumb and that turns the left joystick into the old GameCube C joystick while held. It opens up the possibility to control two completely different functions with the left joystick.

      I don't think that checks out, considering the positioning of the button it's very out of the way. more out of the way than the home button, which is not a button you have to press very often. It's basic ergonomics, the more frequently you have to press a button, the closer you put it to where your hand naturally rests. it has to be some sort of system button. or, if it isn't, it's at least a button you don't have to press very often.

    Something that come up to my mind. What if the C button is for Change. A button to toggle the other buttons functionality. So we will have even more buttons when needed, so rather than just A, B, X, Y buttons we will also have CA, CB, CX, CY buttons.
    Of course the games have to handle it properly as you don't want to have to toggle too much, it needs to be something that you switch between modes.

    its all coming together. the codename for switch 2? OZ. the shortening for ounces. there are 16 ounces in a pound, and 8 fluid ounces in a cup. the nintendo switch 2 is going to be pushing more social interaction as its gimmick. 8 person local multiplayer, 16 person online multiplayer, and the C buttons stands for community or connect to some service which makes this whole ordeal easier, so that switches can connect to each other like how the DS did with download play (although id be surprised if download play came back)

    I think the biggest problem with the Wii U was that the console was on the TV and it wasn't on the gamepad. It was way too limiting. While you could play some games just on the gamepad, the limited range made it not really worth while. Some double screen games work insanely well.
    If Nintendo does a reverse Wii U and lets you cast to the TV with optional 2 screen modes in some games, I think it would alleviate the biggest complaints of the Wii U. No big, bulky gamepad, you still get the 2 screen setup, and you get unlimited range.

    Some ideas:
    - It's a Capture button. Screenshots and videos now each have their own buttons, so you don't have to hold the existing button to record video. Maybe that opens up the door for additional features to be bound to these buttons?
    - It's a Capture button, as in a dedicated button for opening a game's photo mode. This means that games don't need to waste a button just for activating photo mode.
    - It's a Create button that lets you quickly access a studio for editing screenshots and clips.
    - It _is_ a symbol. It's a magnet! It, uh... Deactivates the magnets on the console? Or activates additional magnets?
    - It's just an additional hotkey for games to use if they need another button. Maybe it stands for Command.
    - It's a Crayon button. It dispenses a crayon. The color is completely random.
    - It's a ChatGPT button. You can ask it for help in your games.
    - It's a Capcom button. It launches a random Mega Man game. 0.001% chance to get Resident Evil instead.
    - It's a Currency button. It launches the game's microtransaction store.
    - It displays the letter C in the center of the screen for 3 seconds.
    - It's a Cheeseburger button. It opens an app for ordering Wendy's.
    - It does nothing. It was added by complete accident and they didn't have time to remove it. It's not even hooked up to anything so no dev can use it, not even for homebrew, but if you try to remove or cover it the console won't turn on. You just have to ignore it.
