Likely not usable units, but gutted ones so that manufactures can confirm their accessories actually fit, seems plausible. At the very least they would an accurate CAD of the shell, including buttons and ports.
@@GG-bw5qd the second one is definitely a render. the posing and lighting and reflections just wouldn't be worth doing physically. willing to bet the zengrip is too.
Chinese manufactures probably leaked cad files to other manufactures under the radar, to help them to start accessories productions. I doubt anyone outside switch factories and storages units got close to a real unity.
All jokes aside, we’ve been getting an increased number of Switch 2 leaks these past couple of days. That reveal is probably in January if all these accessories companies are just straight up showing Switch 2.
Arlo these companies publishing these designs have no relationship with Nintendo, they are not officially licensed. These accessories are beign created based on a 3D Scan that leaked on th einternet, which is something that is pretty easy to do these days, just takes a factory worker to bring a portable 3D scanner (looks like a bar code scanner thing) to work. These images are CG, they most likely don't have the actual Switch, but a leaker on reddit claimed they are roughly accurate.
I have already seen about dbrand a few days before and thought already that this video would be the same. What I heard about dbrand lets me think that the switch 2 could be different the. The images.
I think you are right, but like based on just the shell the 3ds is just a dsi with an extra slider. Based on these leaks from cases you couldnt tell its 3d. I doubt the extra button will he something mind blowing, so you are probably right, but its a bit too early to say
I agree with the commenter pointing out DSi -> 3DS is a good competitor if you're just looking at it rather than turning it on (which is the same position we're in now).
the C button has been speculated to be a symbol meaning "connect", basically it's speculated that it's a way for you connect to the TV wirelessly allowing the Switch 2 to act like a Wii U gamepad. In other words, the Switch 2 will have 2 screens in one, that's why it's called "2". This also means DS and 3DS games are possible to port over. which as much as the idea of a "big bad wiiU gimmick" sounds awful, this is actually the best most non intrusive way to bring back the gamepad concept without overpricing the system, it will be like the 3D on the 3DS that's completely optional and I honestly really like the idea
It's really hard to come up for a good use case for this given you'd have to be in the same room as your dock and TV but a casting thing would have it running at handheld mode specs (because it's still obviously out of the dock). This cast idea boils down to "Play in handheld mode on your TV" and I'm really skeptical Nintendo wants that given that confused people will be posting online about how terrible their games look, not realizing that casting is basically handheld mode and not docked mode.
It would have to have either an insanely strong connection to avoid input lag or have an assessory to attach to the tv to stream content to it. And tbh having a gamepad 2 and ds/3ds games doesn’t seem like it would be that important to do for a whole button on the controller.
@@Magic_Ice see that's thing, you underestimate that Nintendo wouldn't dedicate an entire part of the console for something like this when they absplutely would
Just so you know Arlo, the DBrand company is well known for shenanigans. They're a long-time sponsor of Linus Tech Tips (another Canadian company) and the two troll each other frequently. The vibe of DBrand is sort of "doing it for the lulz, lol nothing matters", relying mostly on their (really, pretty good) products.

I don't think there's going to be a hardware gimmick (I mean, they're bringing back a microphone, but there was one in the DS, 3DS, and Wii U so I wouldn't call it a gimmick). Maybe the tech inside the Joycons will have been improved so the Rumble is even more HD or whatever, but in general I think gimmicks will be relegated to peripherals and software. The Switch had wildly gimmicky things like LABO and Ring Fit Adventure and Ring Fit Adventure actually sold remarkably well and (I haven't played it but) people say it's quite good for what it is, but none of those are baked into the system. I'd expect Switch 2 gimmicks to not be part of the system but be software with peripherals like a new version of LABO.
@@pattersong6637 It's Nintendo. There will be one (or more). LABO and Ring Fit are accessories. I'm talking about the NS2 itself. Like the NS1 is hybrid, that's its main gimmick.
I heard that Nintendo's new console will run on pineapple juice. And you'll need to pour a hot cup of Earl Grey on it to boot up. Nintendo is always so innovative
I'm thinking they won't acknowledge this at all until at least Jan 1. Gotta get through the holiday selling season first. Hell, they may wait until February 1 to try to wait for some return deadlines to pass.
Going as far as to say Nintendo are closely looking into return deadlines is borderline conspiratorial at this point. People buying Switches this late in the game won’t care about the Switch 2.
Dude don't be ridiculous it's 2 weeks to the end of the year they won't make MILLIONS they won't sell MILLIONS of units it's done and dead already. Who wanted to buy that he bought it already so you people need to stop with this HOLIDAY SALES BS already.
The Dolphin was changed to the Game Cube and people hated it. The Nintendo Revolution became the Wii and people hated it. The NX became the Switch and people hated it. I swear, the Switch2 is going to have a really off the wall name and people will learn to love it.
7:05 those are definitely air intakes, not speakers; the horizontal slots to either side of those are the speakers 9:55 confirming something like that is SUCH a dbrand move lmao their marketing has always been borderline incendiary
Nintendo know that everyone is expecting a "Switch 2" so I don't think they are very worried about the leaks as they would be if they were to unveil a totally new concept.
The Switch had a pretty efficient design, so this is just an updated and cleaned up version that makes some improvements and gives a bigger screen. It might not be that exciting but it works and doesn't waste much space. Announcing some banger games will counteract any lack of excitement that comes with the design. Throw in a 3D Mario and Kart game with launch and they're set
Perhaps a main feature we don’t know about yet that may or may not be shown on the design. RGT85 mentioned that C button could be a way to stream it to the dock/TV and you can use the Switch console as a WiiU remote like with the WiiU. Then bring over the DS/3DS lineup on the NSO or full game remasters.
Might as well call it the Wii U 2 if that's the route they're going with it, because it's going to run into the same issues that the Wii U did: uninformed casuals thinking it's just an accessory or new version, and it flops as a result.
A huge part of why these leaks aren’t something I take seriously is a pattern I’ve noticed. People are forgetting Nintendo’s notoriously litigious reputation. If this was truly the next console to follow the Switch, the leaks would have been nuked within minutes and any company in their right mind wouldn’t start pumping out accessories for something Nintendo refuses to confirm. It would blacklist them in their own industry. It wouldn’t surprise me if these companies advertising accessories are just scrambling to make a quick buck due to the massive anticipated drop off in sales consoles are expected to have in the next year. Another hesitation I have for believing the “Switch 2” would be anything but some sort of slight tweak like the OLED Switch vs the OG or the Switch Lite or whatever the one you can’t take apart was is that Nintendo has been very recently releasing new adaptations of old flagship titles from old consoles - ones people have been begging for for years. Other companies like EA also would have contracts with Nintendo regarding their very recently released remastered old games. Putting those things out is risky because the old audience has grown up at this point - especially a company like EA doing this with franchises they’ve borderline abandoned would be insane. Nintendo is a beast of a company, but they have a stranglehold on the console market for a reason. Developers jump through their hoops and contracts are made. Every decision they make has a financial impact on their partners. Nintendo cannot stand anyone finding workarounds to get access to their things - their harsh condemnation of people making ports of their old games that aren’t even in production anymore should tell you as much. Also, when the Switch came out, Nintendo had spent at least a year hyping up a flagship title to push their consumers towards their new console. The failure of the Wii U was so egregious to them that they had to make this work. And they succeeded. Zelda Breath of The Wild was a HUGE driving force for people scrambling for the system. Their production of new big flagship games had begun to slow in the year leading up to it. The most major release was maybe Pokémon Sun & Moon, but a new Pokémon game tends to come out every year or every other year. Leaking the actual switch 2 would also be corporate death for these companies. Nintendo allowing them to keep wearing their clown shoes and honking their noses should show that they don’t feel nearly as destabilized as one would think if any of these leaks were real. Again, given Nintendo won’t hesitate to absolutely ruin someone to teach people as a lesson, the fact they haven’t dragged someone into a legal battle is a red flag. These accessory companies are clearly focusing short term profit over long term, hence why they have hopped on so eagerly even at the risk of being wrong. They’re scared of going under. Nintendo isn’t worried about that because they’re Nintendo. They’re a mega giant. They’re thinking long term success over short term gratification. If these truly ARE the leaks, which I really hope not, the company is most likely dealing with infighting between both employees and whole branches (US vs Japan for example). :/
Note on blurriness: this isn’t a perfect comparison but… i am a doll collector and upcoming doll launches are often leaked in advance and almost every leaked image is inexplicably blurry for seemingly no reason. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is what has been happening with these blurry switch 2 “leaks”. I haven’t come up with a good reason as to why they’re always blurry, maybe something to do with it making it harder to reverse image search to find? Idk
I dont think those are the speakers, i think the speakers are the 2 small little slits on the either side of them. I think those are the new intake openings 7:06
And then in March '25 Nintendo reveals their new console and it's a big ball that shoots out holographic projections into the room and you have to roll the ball around a bunch to get points that you exchange for play time. That's the Nintendo that I know and love
6:597:26 Those "nice big speakers" at the bottom are actually the intake vents, the vent at the top is the exhaust, and the speakers are the thinner holes further out on each side. This is also the case with the Switch 1, the main difference being the speakers there are just below the screen rather than closer the bottom
the top port is fun for portable play, when you set the console down on a train you can still have charging while you play while the bottom port is blocked by the table. Also could allow "power mode" for more bettha quality.
Here's the thing, I don't think Nintendo cares about this at all. I'll tell you why. The amount of people who are seeking Switch leaks is such a drop in the bucket. Those people that are seeing leaks...are the first bit of marketing the console is getting. If anything, these leaks only benefit Nintendo. The actual reveal will be the vast majority of people's first look at the console. And once that reveal comes out, all these leaks and discussions will be quickly forgotten about because none of them matter. Ya know? The look of the console isn't a big deal. The software? The games? That's different. I'm sure Nintendo cares a lot about that. But the look of the Switch 2? I doubt they care.
Why would the triggers on the back just be release buttons? They’re so big and shaped like a real trigger. There were also rumors that they’re supposed to be some sort of haptic scroll wheel.
He calling the giant holes at the bottom "nice big speakers", meanwhile im like, surely they are the cooling vents, and the speakers are the small things on the sides
The only thing that seems sketxhy for me is the X and Y buttons being swapped in all these images, but this could just be an error of the silicone case
I think that Nintendo might call it the Nintendo “Snap” if they really don’t want it to be called switch 2 given the fact the joy-cons snap onto the system now.
I have this strange feeling that all of these "leaks" are omitting some new gimmick that isn't immediately obvious based just on the form factor. I think Nintendo might still have a trick up their sleeve. A few options: 1. It can do something similar to the 3DS. 2. It can render both to the handheld and to the TV that is attached to the dock, like the Wii U. Or, maybe all of these leaks are a coordinate campaign of misdirection and the Switch 2 doesn't look like what we have seen at all. Unlikely, but man if it were true it would be one of the best marketing ploys ever.

I agree with the commenter pointing out DSi -> 3DS is a good competitor if you're just looking at it rather than turning it on (which is the same position we're in now).
"We've now officially cut the time before your joycon starts drifting in half"
the C button has been speculated to be a symbol meaning "connect", basically it's speculated that it's a way for you connect to the TV wirelessly allowing the Switch 2 to act like a Wii U gamepad.
I would love that
It would have to have either an insanely strong connection to avoid input lag or have an assessory to attach to the tv to stream content to it.

The vibe of DBrand is sort of "doing it for the lulz, lol nothing matters", relying mostly on their (really, pretty good) products.
that was the original thought, but they confirmed to Inside Gaming this is real with the actual dimensions from a 3d scan of the real device.

DS / 3DS
Same energy. Lets see what the gimmick is.
Imagine if there isn't one lmao
The gimmick could be anything that attaches to the new USB C port

Butternut Squash? Yes Please!

"The Nintendo Button"

9:33 Why does Arlo sound so confused by DBrand like they aren't one of the biggest system customization brands out there?
I’ve never heard of it personally
Idk

Dbrand is kinda known for getting their hands on CAD models or actual units of consoles and phones way before release and being very troll-y with it.
6:59 7:26 Those "nice big speakers" at the bottom are actually the intake vents, the vent at the top is the exhaust, and the speakers are the thinner holes further out on each side. This is also the case with the Switch 1, the main difference being the speakers there are just below the screen rather than closer the bottom
7:39 Exhaust. 😂😂😂
the top port is fun for portable play, when you set the console down on a train you can still have charging while you play while the bottom port is blocked by the table.

I have this strange feeling that all of these "leaks" are omitting some new gimmick that isn't immediately obvious based just on the form factor. I think Nintendo might still have a trick up their sleeve. A few options:
