Lol, yeah, i guess they learn their boundaries as puppies. The dog i grew up w/ as a child was a giant rottweiler, but his love bites were so so so gentle, because he had learned how delicate i was as a child, and he kept treating me that delicately even as i got older. My next rottie grew up with teenage me, and i would often wrestle and roughhouse w/ him, so he knew he could be a bit more rough w/ me w/o breaking me lol. As long as you set proper boundaries, they'll always follow them. But some ppl who didn't grow up w/ dogs don't know how to communicate boundaries, which leads to confusion for the doggos, and sometimes inappropriate roughness.
Like, my stepmom has no idea how to communicate boundaries w/ her dogs, so her huskies always jump up on anyone, even children, and knock them to the floor. They're just playing, but they've been spoiled their whole lives and never told "no" so they just do whatever they want and think it's fine.
