I enjoy how well you explain everything in your videos. I just picked up my first kayak a Jackson Cuda 12 to fish with here in Montana. Mostly lakes and rivers. So am just in the starting to learn phase. Todays task is to find some tracks and get them mounted and maybe get a start on my DIY fishing crate. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos
Hi Maurice! Congrats on the new yak! Jackson kayaks are amazingly stable! I'm excited for you to get out on the water and build out your mods! My first few trips were definitely learning and observing to see what would work best for me. I'm happy I could be of some help. Let me know if you have any questions!
Nice setup and ride. I am waiting on my Hobie PA14 getting rigged. I purchased the Garmin 106sv with GT56 ducer so should be incredible. Cant wait to get after some tog here in NJ. Your setup lokks great
Man, Hobies are incredible! Your set up is going to be sick! I've been considering upgrading to the gt56 just off of some comparisons I've seen but, I think I should give it some more time on the water first. Good luck brother and tight lines! Thanks for watching 💪🏽
I had purchased the YakAttack Round Base fish finder mount thinking I was going to purchase the Striker 4 series. I changed my mind and got a 7sv and found that the mount wouldn’t fit the round base. I found your video and found my error. Thank you.
I had a yak attack for my Helix 8 in the same place but it was WAY to wobbly I had to go with a ram ball mount. Lithium all the way! I run amped outdoors 14.8 volt 35 ah battery for my Helix gives me 3 days and is size of a coke can, and run 2 Dakota Lithium 12v 54ah 12 in series for 24 volts for my custom motor/pod. Both companies shipped with chargers too.
That's awesome man! I definitely considered Dakota and Amped and have only heard positives from both. I'll probably try a bow mounted motor at some point in the future. Eyeing that spotlock feature from minn kota! My unit does give a bit of wobble but hasn't caused any concern yet. It's definitely top heavy with that screen. Thanks for sharing your set up brother! 🙏🏼
Do you get good images when you are using the side scan feature with the transducer being mounting up under the hull? I’m wondering if the sides of kayak interfere with the images.. Thanks in advance.
@@kevinmedeiros9281 yes sir. I moved it to the rail to accommodate the Livescope pole recently and it holds well. It can be a little wobbly at times but if you have the option to either get the HD YakAttack mount or Ram mount, I’d recommend that.
I'm looking to put my trolling motor battery in the bow where you have your zoom; have you had any issues with weight distribution? My battery is 24V 40ah (~20lbs). Thanks.
Great video!! Quick question…is that Lake Nockamixon?? I recognize that boat ramp. I kayak fish there all the time. Im still waiting to take my new Old Town PDL 106 on its maiden voyage….just waiting for the warmer weather.
Thanks sir! And yes that is Nockamixon. I try to get out there once a month or so. The fishing is tough but can be very rewarding. Congrats on the 106 PDL. I love my 120 PDL. Old Town makes some amazing yaks!

Another great video. I think I will be spending a lot of time looking at the various lithium battery solutions. Solid work Jay

Just got the scupper mount for my old town top water 120. Probably put it in tomorrow. Lol. 👍👍
Sweet!!
What a great, informative video Sir. Glad to see you out on the water!
Thanks Mike! It was a bit windy and the bass weren't showing the love but it beats a day NOT fishing.
Hello new friend 🙏 i like your video sharing kayak fishing,,spot very good👍👍
Thank you bud! Appreciate you watching!

@@BeardedDadFishing Well best plans always change. Snowing like crazy here. So hopefully monday I can get a start on it.. Thank you for the reply!!
Gummy bear 🤣. Great set up! Well done brother…..good helpful information 👍
Thank you brother! I had another dad joke on deck but the live audience (Juan aka Cap'n Hooks) wasn't feeling it 🤣
Let's link up soon and land a few!

I watched several of your videos last, did you have 1 that shows rod storage in the hatch if so which model was it. Btw great videos
Thanks for watching John! Yes that was the Oldtown PDL 120 review. Crazy storage up front!
Great review! Did yo have any issues installing Navarre handle? Did holes match? Did mounting surfaces on the handle and kayak match? thanks!
Email Nick. He’ll take care of you 👌🏽

Hey Michael! The side imaging works perfectly. I was also worried about this, however watching a few videos, I realized this wouldn't be an issue.
Always wondered why there is so much wobble with this mount.
Same here. Seems the ram mounts are much less wobbly.
Is the stock orange rail strong enough to hold your fish finder with that mount installed?

Awesome ty just ordered it

No issues. The battery is light enough even at 50Ah.

@@BeardedDadFishing It is a tough place to fish. Some days I wonder…if there are any fish in this lake 🤣. Old Town Kayaks are the best! 👍🤡👍
It's Na-VARR the e is silent. I lived there for 14yrs. :)
😂 those dang silent letters
Great videos. Very informative. I would like to support your channel. Can I purchase Bearded Dad Fishing swag?
Thank you Len! I'll be posting some merch for sale in the future for sure.
