The Dream Team is reunited here... if you accept that the son is the perfect stand in for the father on drums (which I do)... this was a great show to witness... I wish I had been there.
Some people are ignorant. Thats what makes the entire song and what made it popular,.as an instrumental.hit. The driving rhythm guitar..is what all kids wanted to learn back then and did.....Descending muted runs with Reverb...... Surf Sound.....
WTF? Don Wilson is an amazing rhythm guitar playes, so innovative and so accurate...i bet you are all who say that he is a weak link, can't play on his level..
i noticed Don Wilson was truly enjoying himself playing there! Nokie Edwards and Bob Bogle were the calmer ones! overall they were great guitar players and not forgetting they had a fantastic drummer!
The Chantays, who wrote Pipeline, used a piano for the solo on a live performance on the Lawrence Welk Show. The Ventures have never used keyboards that I'm aware of but the Surfaris have.
Sadly like me these older artist have lost the edge. Not as good as they played 5 years 50 years back, but thats to be expected. I loved it anyway! I also am awe struck by the collection of vintage instruments. Wow!
I agree with Bill I have watched many Ventures videos and he is always irritating, he showboats and tries to out do the lead guitarist to make himself more important than he is. Look at the bass player doing his job playing good bass and hanging back a bit so as not detract from the lead tune. He even gets the lighting man to give him the spotlight.
Jet Harris RIP. Bruch Welch 3 chords and not much talent. Ungreatful git would never have got anywhere without Cliff Richards and all he can do is slag Cliff off behind his back. Christians make easy targets for the fool!
I'm not usually a fan of the Ventures but this is great stuff. A classic tune.
They play so calm and composed ....no exaggerated head banging......class musicians !!!
I loved both bands in the early eighties - and they sound even better today!
They have played it thousands on times and still love! Says so much, thank you!😊
Great version of Pipeline!
Really great.

Hank Marvin is sooo great loved this as a kid in 1962

Awesome Music. It drag me 30yr. back. I use listen 30yrs. ago. Like it.

Surf Sound.....
They are totally different tunes all played beautifully by both bands just shows why they have been around for 50 years
Обожаю их!!!!
Great music!

Brilliant, miles better than some of todays rubbish!
Bruce Welch is a fabulous rhythm guitarist.
great music...
RIP Bob Bogle.

great return!
This is wonderful ...

Bruce Welch is a great rhythm guitarist.
The Shadows!!! :)
驚きました。ベンチャーズのドン・ウィルソンさんが、シャドウズのライブに参加してるなんて。でも、違和感なく、溶け込んでましたね。
We always hear the difference from.."Proffessionals"
That's a matter of fact-- Ivan.
Hi. Don Wilson i miss you so much😂
Sadly like me these older artist have lost the edge. Not as good as they played 5 years 50 years back, but thats to be expected. I loved it anyway! I also am awe struck by the collection of vintage instruments. Wow!
Excuse me, but The Chantay's debuted "Pipeline". Still the best version!
perfekt
It sounds just like pipeline from the Chantays
wow, is that Nokie Edwards? i know that is Don Wilson, but i cannot tell if that is edwards or not.
É show.....
I do enjoy the Ventures... but the Shadows are way more polished and punchy. To me, they have a much more pleasing and unique sound.
Difficile de choisir, jaime les deux.
Down Wilson is anything but a weak link

I have always thought the weak link in the Ventures was/is the rhythm guitarist.
I hate these stupid adds

Shadows way more polished, tone, musicianship, etc... Ventures are cool in a corny high school band sort of way.
wrt The Ventures the rhythm guitarist is the weak link. Not good at all.
Looks like the rhythm guitarist wants to play lead. Either way is an embarrassment.
