Jeff was the only Aussie artist to release records on the prestigious Asylum label, where he shared with the likes of the Eagles, Jackson Browne, Tom Waits, Linda Ronstadt and Joni Mitchell. And this Aussie classic came out on that very same label!
So much I miss about these times, Jeff St John is one of them. I'll never forget seeing him live for the first time, the power in his voice blew me away, not to mention his wheelchair skills. Every wheelchair bound Aussie kid wanted to be like him. 🥰😘👌
In Jeff’s book he says he never performed overseas because of his health concerns. Doubtless would have been big internationally. At a concert I attended, BoDiddley said Jeff “has more soul than I have on ma boots!”
I loved Jeff Snt John, he was so kool, and gave every performance EVERYTHING...didnt matter he was in a wheelchair, if anything, his doing this made a way for others to get out and make their mark....love him forever ❤🦋
I remember this clip I was about 10 at the time and even then thinking "wow what a voice ". Refined musical taste even at a young age. Kids are now glued to their phone with their brain turning to jelly.
i grew up knowing jeff personally we lived in the same beachside town of sydneys northern beaches at Newport like jeff i too was born with spina bifida but my spina bifida didnt effect me the same way i walk with a pronoced limp and i use canidian crutches to walk with but i was a massive fan of jeff's music saw him at a few of his gig's back in the day i'm 51 now ..i dont know what jeff is doing he was a great singer he could really belt out a song 2 of which come to mind are teach me how to fly and my personal fav is i'm a fool in love....where ever you are these days jeff god bless you mate....

@@scottharvey3848 sorry Scott. Not sure why l wrote that question like that. I certainly do not question your story of your privileged connection to the courageous, highly intelligent, articulate, innovative, creative and awesome entertainer. Have been a massive fan since Big Time Operator. I just feel really disappointed not to have been aware of those 2 international collaborations that you mentioned.
I reckon if he was an able bodied person Jeff would of been a huge international success . Then on the other hand he may of never been a singer as i dont know his succumstances
I'm 15 again, what a exceptional voice. ❤❤❤❤
Loved Jeff. I really miss these kinda people and class acts ❤
One of the greatest voices this country has produced. I was about 15 when he recorded this and couldnt play it enough. Amazing vocalist.

Don't worry about one of the best in Australia. He was absolutely world class. No risk.
I saw him with Copper Wire ?? at the Parkerville Amphitheater a 100 o ago. Sensational. I see the RAAF sticker in the Sax.

Remembering the late great JEFF ST JOHN, born 22nd of April, 1946, would have turned 74 today.
The sax player should get a medal. Man o man and Jeff couldn't sing it blacker. It's the good shit and early seventies in Australia too!

One of the greatest singers of Oz of all time! Love this track. If, and it will, be re-done, it could never match such an amazing voice!

He was truly cool.
Teach me how to fly
He sang teach me how to fly 🪰 as appossed to help me mosquitoes 🦟 ha ha ha 😂 😆 😄
Amazing performer in a wheelchair with female bass player in this clip and not a woke advocate in sight. Just talent and self belief and drive.
Does anyone know who the back-up musicians were? I love the rhythm section (although the bucket hat fashion staement is a bit of a worry)!
I reckon if he was an able bodied person Jeff would of been a huge international success . Then on the other hand he may of never been a singer as i dont know his succumstances
Nothing to see here ... a true prof making it happen ... so gives a anything about his wheelchair ?? no one gives a shit ! welcome to Australia dude !
