Thank you Tonya, it is always good to get some ideas from how another does their binder. I like how you have done yours. If you haven't mentioned it before, because of how much I learned from watching the FREE Franklin Covey video yesterday which is available on the bottom of their website I highly recommend that everyone watches it. The video is excellent reminding us "why" we really want to accomplish things. It is associated with each of our "values" whether we realize it or not. Sometimes, it is good to Be Reminded of what they are. I found it super rejuvenating & motivating & helpful! Although I've been using the FC Binder for years, it is the first time I saw the video. Wish I saw it years ago! I also printed out Benjamin Franklin's list of virtues! What a man he must have been! How good of FC to share it with us. Says something about the great company, too!

Footprint and weight are factors I consider, so thank you for including this information. When you showed the zipper it reminded me of old school Coach bags when they were all made out of saddle leather with the quality zippers.

This is the same planner I have except mine is made of smooth aniline leather which they stopped making and the zipper is plastic. If the brass zipper on yours starts to stick, just get some Gulf Wax from the canning or BBQ section of your grocery store, and rub a bar of wax over the zipper. I wouldn't use a candle because it's scented and I don't know what all's in a candle but Gulf Wax is basically unscented plain paraffin wax. You can use the wax to lubricate other metal zippers also, it's not just for canning.
Thanks for the zipper tip. I had a purse where the zipper got stuck once and I ended up using a bar of soap on it. It worked well.

I just received this one as well. It is very nice, large enough to contain everything and it has relieved my anxiety to have all the important stuff in one place. I still have a small notebook for on the go (no planning) but anything of substance is in my Classic FC.

Another clear, informative video. Thank you Tonya. I have recently changed my planner setup. I am using both FC Compact and Classic planners, plus a third one limited to financial and accounts/password information. The Compact (Agenda zipper binder with 1.5" rings) has my Blooms daily pages, shopping lists, and monthly pages for facilitating making appts away from home. I've also turned the back section into my wallet. This planner/wallet goes everywhere with me. My Classic binder (using the Friday binder with 2" rings which I love) contains monthly and weekly pages, plus tabs with other information, and the Starter Pack tabs and info. Big, bulky, and a useful central repository of important information, I love it but it stays home. In addition, I picked up a useful idea from a planner video which is working so great for me. I am using an ordinary composition notebook for "in process" scribbled brainstorming, figuring things out, various notes, etc. It stays with my Classic binder. It is great for keeping my other planners neat and clean.
DVF 🙂 Hey DVF. Do you have a total of 3 planners? Cool, whatever works. I like the idea of financial info and passwords in another planner because I constantly have to remove those pages when I do videos and take pictures of my planner. Having that info separate would save me a step. Instead of having a separate notebook, I use my Daily Notes pages and blank pages in the tabbed sections of my binder. My planner does not look neat all the time and I show that on purpose because I want people to see how real planning looks...and sometimes it’s not neat. Hi, Tonya! I recently found your channel and I'm hooked. I have a Classic that I got about 10 yrs ago and love it due to the larger rings and the zipper closure. Now, I jsut need to decide which planner pages I want. I'm debating just printing my own since I'm retired and not doing much with this virus thing.

I love this binder and ended up getting the Rylan. I love it because it is not so structured. Is the Tyler a soft structure? I love black and the rings...oh my 1.5!
Hello Leinaala! The Rylan looks just like my Leather Unstructured binder (I will link the video here.) I love brown leather binders. Tonya, thank you for these great videos. I enjoy the content and the way you present the information. I have learned a lot from them. I have a question: What are your thoughts between your old zippered unstructured binder and this Taylor one? In particular, I was wondering what your thoughts are between some structure (Taylor), or no structure. Which one feels better when writing? What about weight? Thank you.
Hi Marta. The Tyler binder is semi structured. I do not feel a difference between the semi structured and unstructured binder. They both feel the same to me. The weight and footprint is almost the same. They both feel fine and the same when writing. I hope this helps.
