Shalimar was one of my mom's 2 favorite eau de colognes. She died in 1999. I recently was feeling nostalgic and bought some for myself. I'd never worn Shalimar EDC before. I'm absolutely loving it! I'm loving both the scent on myself and the feeling it gives me of my mom still being near me.

The Eau de Cologne is my favorite Shalimar! Especially in hot weather it is awesome because it has that comforting shalimar scent without the cloing sweetness.
I just bought this exact Shalimar at Walgreens for $26.99 on the blind today. So far I'm loving it and so happy I found it. I'm 68 so I'm losing some of my smelling senses, so I appreciate your expertise nose sense on Shalimar.

Thanks for a great review. Shalimar Eau de Cologne is one of my favorites. I live in northen Europe and this is a comforting winter scent to me.
This scent is amazing. A very noticeable civet note which was surprising to me, love it. The dry down is phenomenal and my favorite part. It is an amazing comfort scent that can be used anytime, anyplace and is nearly impossible to overspray. I’m a man and love this scent. If this was bottled in a niche bottle and priced at 300+ I believe it would be getting a ton of attention. I want to try the EDP and Parfum versions now along with L’Hour Blu and Mitsuko.

I love the way you describe perfume. It makes sense to me. Very otherworldly descriptions which is what perfume is
I love Shalimar: all of it’s versions and it’s flankers. The EDC (produced for sale in the US) is such a beauty. It is Shalimar made approachable by softening the base notes and with adding a playful chocolate-cocoa note that is irresistible.
My first ”real” scent i purchased when i was about 15. At that time only the EdT was sold in Sweden. I have repurchased it many many times and almost every time there has been a totally new bottle-design . Even the edt has been sold in the bottlemodel in the video. Ohh, wish i had kept them all🙃

The opening smells like a white 1992 Lincoln continental that a grandmother only drove to the casino, church & grocery store for the past 30yrs.
The dry down smells a lil bit better but it still smells like a red stale leather couch 🛋 that a Chicago bears fan loves to watch the game on Sunday nights... with a mega barrel of peanuts next to their favorite keg-hat of coors light.. and... a freshly bathed fluffy white family kitty cat. 😺 meow

These are vibes I get.
This scent is not a panty dropper whatsoever. It will not get you compliments if you're under the age of 70. It's not youthful at all... however, I can see why ppl would still cherish this.

I bought vintage bottle of this and I was amazed. It has a lovely dry down at this concentration.

Shalimar eau de parfum is my go-to, it’s warm and cosy, familiar and classic. Shalimar never goes out of style. Parfum Initial is my favorite. I use it sparingly for fear I might run out. The few bottles that I have are the gems of my collection.
Shalimar is growing on me the more time passes! The EDC is really a great surprise! xoxo
I always loved this variant of the bottle - very art deco. I've never had the privilege of smelling the EDC, but of the versions I have smelled the original pure extract is by far my favorite; the depth of that Guerlain vanilla is just incomparable and hypnotizing. I get the same effect with the EDP, but it makes me wait hours to get to the best part (which I find to be around the 5 or 6 hour mark, especially on fabrics). I'd love to have the EDC to use as a sheer bedtime perfume!
It is a great bedtime perfume but it is also a great daytime perfume to use freely and re-apply freely throughout the day! Really great subtle scent! xoxo
Awesome I've been curious about this one as I know where one is sitting in the back of a cabinet at a local pharmacy also 👍 its been there for years, I have the edt and like it so now I know where im stopping in the morning 😀😂🙋♂️
It doesn't have huge longevity but its so much fun to smell and it really peps up the mood! I am loving it and am happy to have a Shalimar I can freely re-apply throughout the day! xoxo

Hi, Dacob. I finally decided to purchase this..the EDP, moving out of my "Chanel only" comfort zone. Am I crazy that the EDP first impression, that first spray, immediately reminded me of my Coco Noir EDP? Not identical, but almost cousins. Innwear the Coco Noir in the winter but now find this fragrance even better.
I have the EDP which I do love, very much. I would like to try this one as well, if I can encounter it. Thank you for the video!

Hi Dacob! I hope you got the package I sent-- more goodies for my friend. Here's something you might be interested in that I've been looking into-- which is the Guerlain range of home fragrances. I have four so far-- Eau de Cashmere, Meteorites, Orchidee Imperial, and Voile de Poudre. There is one that I'm only finding right now, Foret de Sumatra, that I will get now. Not only do they smell fantastic as home frags, they work on the skin like any other frag by guerlain. The great thing also, is that they only cost about one third or less as much as "regular" frags. I only paid an average of $35 each for large 4oz bottles. I've been telling other reviewers about Eau de Cashmere for months now, but hardly anyone is talking about these wonderful scents. If you are interested, I could send you decants of what I have-- these need to be better known!

ahh damnit dacob!! the only perfume i wanted to love, and simply couldnt. my chemistry just HATES it. but my co-worker, it smells like--god on her!! lol it sits on my dresser collecting dust as of today :( why shalimar..whyyy :( or should i blame my chemistry !! lol
