Do you think indulging in too much motivational content can do more harm than good?
Ps thankyou so much for watching today's video! Super interested to hear your feedback on my first ever long form video :)
I've never been on manifesting tiktok, but the phrase "claim it" is familiar to me. It's a phrase I've heard in American churches growing up. You're supposed to "claim your blessings". Looks like that mindset has been copy-pasted into manifestation
Since I gave up the self help train, I’ve bought a house, got married, passed my driving test - my take is things change when you just go out and do things. Manifestation is just procrastination
👏 amazing!
The short form content on social media is designed to keep you on the app... watching, liking, sharing, etc. They benefit from you giving them your most precious and irreplaceable resource, time. If they gave you tangible steps for improving your life, you'd be less likely to scroll mindlessly. It's a toxic trap that I, myself, am currently working at escaping
I have often looked at the lives of people who preach manifestation and thought: "don't see the husband, the boat, the house, the happiness or the dream job - why are they still doing this 6 years on?" Meanwhile, Tony Robbins and Deepak will only accuse you of "not doing it right" when you have failed once again, and they keep making bank. It's quite the business model.
"Come to my next seminar/buy my next book. Then for sure it will stick"
Rinse and repeat. It's genius.
People are generally so depressed with their lives. Unsatisfied with their work and the emptiness of their lives. So much so they need to psych themselves up to have any sort of motivation to go on.
PS. Your dog is welcomed to come ‘haunt’ me.
Sad but true
Thanks for watching! X
My issue with this type of content is how materialistic most of these goals are. And ultimately they seem unfulfilling anyway. They just add fuel to the envy towards a certain lifestyle, but does it make anyone happier really?
Remember “Everyday is a fresh start”. If you have a day where you fail, pick yourself up the next day and keep going, don’t give up. Putting in the work and effort daily will reap rewards. “Also if you really wanted to you would”. If it is that important to you, you will work on it and if it’s not, maybe it’s time to rethink and reevaluate your goals. Nobody is going to ring your doorbell and hand it to you on a silver platter. You need to work each and every day on what it is you want. Also Caitlin you said it best when she said imagine what you could achieve not spending 23 days on ticktock and putting your time somewhere else. Imagine those hours spent on your goals. 😀
You’re absolutely right 💫
That whole « claim it » thing was popular in the 90s and early 2000s. It was a philosophy of « name it and claim it », often pushed by MLMs and some religious groups. It was part of the prosperity gospel, for example. Often, it tended towards gaslighting people in lower economic brackets and particularly related to pushing their participation (losing money) in MLMs, or donate, or pay to participate in nonsense conferences…
It’s also part of the whole capitalist economy setup to blame individuals for systemic issues. Wages haven’t kept up with inflation since the 1970s, but you can’t buy a house because you have avocado on your toast or didn’t say the right mantra today. 🙄
Oh Thankyou I didn’t know that!
I realized that "motivational" content with negative reinforcement is not fitting me, they're overwhelming me and making me feel like I'm not enough. It may help some people but not me so I quit watching them entirely. Thank you for making this video 🤗
One thing not many people discuss is the work it takes to get there. Oprah Winfrey said it best in this quote.
“The big secret in life is that there is no secret. Whatever is your goal, you can get there if you are willing to work.”
- Oprah Winfrey
Such a great point
Thanks for sharing! X
People say they don't do things because they're not ready. What's ironic is that they'll never be "ready" to do something they haven't done before. You're going to suck at something new before you'll be good at it. So if you want to do something, try it, suck at it and see if you like it enough to stick it out until you're good at it.
As a Gen Xer (the last generation to grow up without social media) growing up I only had my immediate peers to compare myself to and for the most part I was happy and felt good about myself. Now I find that I have to be very careful about the content I choose to watch. I find the “that girl” content to be especially toxic for young girls growing up right now. That might explain the videos I’ve seen recently mocking the tweens shopping at Sephora. I think it would have made me miserable in my teens. A lot of content on social media can make you feel inadequate and a lot of the time it is aimed at selling you things to cure that inadequacy. It doesn’t help that I already have a tendency to beat myself up when I don’t follow through with what I plan to do. The whole hustle culture is another thing. I feel like we’re being told it’s not okay relax, but I’ve been working for almost 36 years. I’m tired! Thankfully at my age I am getting to the point where I just don’t care what other people are doing. Comparison is the thief of joy. Just do you and be happy. You are enough.
I feel ya! I'm so glad we didn't have this, growing up!
As antidotes to this stream of time and money wasting content, I recommend:
- A podcast called If Books Could Kill which humorously debunks airport books that peddle in the sort of mush that online influencers then paraphrase for this type of content
- A book titled Work Won’t Love You Back which is a great reality check on productivity culture and its limits for achievement
Thank you for putting this stuff out there. Self-help is a whole industry in and of itself and it's also full of targeted marketing and false advertising, like the fashion industry for instance. It's great that you found your own motivation to quit shopping!
Thankyou so much! ❤️
Not sure about motivational speakers but I have dealt with career coaches. I did what they told me and I recall one email saying, "We have nothing whatsoever that requires your skills". That's the world we live in.
‘Manifesting’ is a joke. Consistency and dedication is where it’s at.
You gotta do more than want it, you’ve gotta work for it. 💪🏻
and Discipline.
I think manifestation is fine, but the issue is that many people think that all you have to do is visualize yourself achieving your goals in order to accomplish them. It's important to have a clear idea of what you want, but you then have to put in consistent work to get it. I see success as preparedness meeting opportunity. So, for me, ~manifestation~ is that moment when an opportunity that will get you closer to your goal comes around and you're able to take it.
It’s not a joke , it’s the way u believe. write words and pictures nd say words don’t make come true , I love manifest cause it’s remind me what my main goal is this year , I don’t let sit somewhere nd take look I put the work into . the same u write down ur schedule, watch UA-cam, movies sometimes it’s good to have an inspiration nd motivation that you can look at it . We humans we can’t think about the same thing everyday u need a remind her.
@@Advise771i guess when it comes to "big" or "long term" manifestation, that includes hardwork. But ones like getting the only one vip ticket available for a concert by a popular artist by robotically affirming or visualize seeing your "person" in the exact way you imagined it are short term "manifestations" that happen without "action"
Love your new content. I don’t write down my goals. I have a brain and I keep everything up there.
Love that!
I definitely ended up in the self improvement content trap. Then I realised it was time to actually start doing the things I wanted to achieve. Now I’m overwhelmed with choices of things to do & I need a journal for my extremely messy, scribbled out to do list. I gave up on a vision board years ago & now just screenshot anything that peaks my interest for future reference, I’m always amused when I look back through my photo gallery of screenshots & see something I’ve actually done/ achieved/ purchased. But I don’t usually put much thought or effort into it. For me 2023 (& the last few months of 2022) was all about self discovery & 2024 is the year to live my life authentically, screw everyone else’s ideals, I’m going my own way & so far (2023 included) I’m having a great time just being myself.
I think the problem is that we’ve forgotten that progress isn’t always going to be comfortable or convenient.
And that it actually takes consistency & effort for these changes within our control to take place.
Active manifestation > passive manifestation.
So glad I found you I appreciate your takes 🙏🏻
Thankyou for sharing your two cents ☺️
Motivation will only get you so far.. but if you want to stick to what you want to reach.. repetition, consistency and persistence are the key! Don’t wait for motivation.. just go for it.. force yourself. Remember why you started.
Alyssa Lenore said it the best, “you don’t need to reinvent yourself when in reality it’s just a new month, a new week, a new day”
also, the best motivation quote IMO is from Nike “JUST DO IT”
Can I just say, your transformation has been the coolest thing to watch! I really love your honesty in confronting these topics and talking about what really helps us help ourselves. I personally do not have instagram or Tik tok (never have) because I hear so much about how addictive it is from all kinds of people. I know I just don’t need that.
I love your content! You’ve blossomed so much as a creator. I’m impressed and excited for what’s to come 😎🥂
Thank you so much!! ❤️
The manifestation trend is a control issue. They all want to control the outcome but you can't. You can only do something about the process which most "manifesting" obsessed people don't care about.
Also, as you said, we don't control how a year will turn out. Last year was "my year" or so I thought. I experienced a lot including abxse in the workplace. That changes you. I left that job since. If "manifesting" was the key to getting what you want 99% of people with the internet would be rich, glam, with a "dream partner".
Reality always slaps you in the face at the end of the day.
I manifest this year and I will do next year 🙌 nothing won’t stop that .
@@Advise771 so what have you manifested, so far?
I don't know if it's just me, but I really can't believe that an adult can ACTUALLY believe in that manifestation thing!!??
One thing I realized is that many things I naturally have together I didn’t learn by watching “self improvement” videos, I just did them because I was bored and curious instead of believing it would change my life.
Thanks for saying this. Very true. Glad someone is noticing this! I needed to hear this because I put way too much daily time in social media and it distracts me from living my life and doing what I need to do to reach my goals.
Glad it was helpful!
I was into self help for a bit, but i realised the motivational speakers all 1) have no special education or certification that make them more knowledgeable than my neighbour or myaelf and 2) all say the same old empty things.
I also realised what i call "no motivation" for what i'm feeling, is probably more executive dysfunction than actual laziness and lack of motivation. I really really want to work on my sewing project, but getting up from the couch is so so hard, it's like my body lives a life of its own. And growing up, i internalised the "if you really wanted to, you would" and to this day, i struggle with knowing if i want to do something for real, or if it's just a thing i kind of convinced myself i wanted, because i just can't get myself to do the thing. Like, sure of course you need to do a thing for it to happen, but going the "you don't want it enough" motivational route is just really not universally good for absolutely everyone, but it's touted as THE only way to be motivated... idk, i also feel like motivational speakers and self help books just promote constant hussle to better yourself, and for me it's demotivating and exhausting
Your „flow“ is already very good to me! I love your changes from „material girl“ unboxing handbags (which you did well!) to a person being critical of self help fads and time wasting. I find you very articulate and smart and I love listening to you new content. Long form all the way! ❤❤❤
Thankyou so much ❤️❤️❤️
I found the most fulfilling replacement for motivational speakers is looking for real knowledge. I now read culinary science, started learning about history, watching vids on how to improve how I make coffee, and downloaded art apps like Leo.
It makes me feel like I have so much more to talk about and I’ve become more interesting, which helped with my self worth, friendships, and work relationships.
This is so true ❤️
This was a good one. The motivation saturation depicted in this vid reached a level of humerous and ironic, I had to have a laugh. 😆❤
I’m so not into the tiktok content… Personally I find it all moves too fast for me - it’s far too easy to become just a quick hit of dopamine (with rarely any follow through...?) I’d way rather watch thoughtfully created long form. Motivational content still has its time and place. I appreciate the act of goal planning and taking time for gratitude/ journaling - but that’s more to give perspective and help break down the bigger picture, gauge next steps.
Social media is toxic. Positivity/negativity, keeping up with the Joneses… The best thing I ever did was walk away from my public accounts about 7 years ago and regain focus on real life. Turns out that was one of the best decisions I ever made for my own well-being, but I had no idea how far things would escalate in that time. 🤯
I still use YT and definitely follow some people who present “motivational” and growth content, but they present it in a very un-flashy way, where you know you’re agreeing to show up for the hard work and that it takes discipline in order to create a better life, etc. There will always be room for improvement and nothing is perfect, but often messy action is the real goal. I’m here for more of that.
Thankyou so much for sharing your two cents xx
I mean... Yeah, you can be positive but you also need to put effort into making things happen, having the resources and the knowledge to be able to put in the effort, to be born in a part of the world who allows or appreciates the said effort, etc. Just sitting home and wishing for things is not really a 'healthy' thing...
ive never done a vision board. however i do a roadmap, which is a written version of a vision board, but it has months/timelines. example, 3 months, 6, a year, etc. it has truly helped me reach all my goals. sadly once i reached all of them, ive been on a weird stand still since 2019/2020 as to what to do next. of course during pandemic, i didnt bother. 22 & 23 not so much as i was trying to get back to "normal life". this yr i keep telling myself to get on it, lets hope i do.
Ughhhh. lol. I’m obsessive and I love diving deep into content for whatever it is I want to learn or be better at. But it’s not manifest-y. I am very much the type of person who’s gonna work hard to get to what I want. But not in a boss babe way.
That said, I wanted to be the best partner I could be cuz I want to get married… I’ve grown so much in my relationship with my partner as a result. I am negative cognitive biases that I’ve been working on lately - trying to identify the root negative thought and rewire it so I can have a more positive foundation to my thoughts. That’s my “self-improvement”. Really just trying to understand motivations and why we think as we do. I’ve gotten really into Chris Williamson as a result. I love the content on evolutional psychology and other psych topics. I just find the human brain and human motivation to be fascinating.
Anyways. I’ve gone down a rabbit hole or two but I truly love knowledge and understanding things. Haven’t found any of that in a self help book or in manifesting though!
On a serious note, I really thought 2020 was gonna be "my year" the year i was 29 years old for the most of. No pressure to get something great achieved before I'm 30!! Oh...OH.... Well, we know how that year turned out for most people😂
I completely agree with you! I felt the same way last year when I was determined to learn a new language. I spent so much time on watching 'How to study more efficiently' or 'How I learned X language ' videos that I finally realized that if I have spent that time on ACTUALLY studying....i would have improved quicker 😅
There are great creators on the internet but in the end you just have to do the work for yourself.
Caitlin I am loving your content. The intro to this video was 🤌 your videos are exactly as long as my daily dog walks, so I can exercise my brain and my legs at the same time!
Obsession is, by definition, unhealthy. Unhealthy is an unnecessary modifier.
I hate “self improvement” is lame, also vision boards like i could use that time to do something i like.
Great montage at the beginning. It was so obnoxious, I thought it was an ad and tried to click out. Accurate representation of the genre.
😝
As a millennial that also was SO on the self improvement train in my 20’s and still am susceptible to get lost in the self help isle at the bookstore…I agree long form content feels so much more substantial and actionable. However if I may be devils advocate for a sec: if something as alluring as TikTok short form motivational content, in all is aesthetic glory, was around in 2015? oh you better believe I would have been hooked. The closest thing would probably be tumblr (for me).
I love a vision board ✨ but as you mention I have realised I need to meet myself where I am at. Its good to have it on a day where everything feels cruddy. To just remind me where I am working towards
Set realistic goals, then when achieved move the horizon. It’s more motivating then unrealistic stuff
I don’t believe that ‘balance’ can exist on social media and that is because it was designed to keep you hooked on others! It was designed to make you watch other people under the ‘inspiration’ disguise. And the people that are putting the show are giving away a lot of their privacy (among other things) which has to pay off >> by selling you a product, a service, a promise that their life is worth watching. Best decision I’ve ever made was quitting social media. Can’t even remember if it was one or two years ago. My life only got better! Our lives can only be ours if we decide to embrace all its facets instead of running away to avoid dealing with the uglier parts of it and of ourselves. Go within :)
Manifestation is all about taking inspired action
🙌💯
Social media nowadays is about selling things to u , I rather watch manifest video create a little cute vision board put in my room nd be reminded every day what my main goal is . I love the inspiration
I’ve never done vision board or anything manifestation for my whole 30 years of life 😅 I just work, have my time to talk and taking care to my family and husband and seeing my friends. The rest is quite necessary for me or boring for others 😅
I’m doing a vision board as well as a bucket list of things I wanna do this year at 32 (I’m turning 32 in February). But I’m not going to pressure myself into getting everything off my vision board or bucket list. I never do. Because I think it’s more realistic to stretch out certain goals. They take time to accomplish.
I thought I was the only one who was gagging at all the motivational content thank u for this video 😅
😝
I love your video on this!🙌🏻 I’ve been feeling like I was the only one who was having thoughts about this! Thank you♥️
Amazing opening! Soo good ❤
Mel Robbins has fantastic content.
The hardest part is getting started for most people! We have these ideas that are exciting but at the same time it’s all overwhelming because you don’t know how to actually get there
What’s needed is more content on how to set goals and practical steps to move yourself forward like you said
I love all the information on atomic habits you can find within that book and on UA-cam. There’s another concept on the compound effect that’s helpful too.
Both reminding you that nothing big happens overnight and it’s your small daily habits that change you in the long run
Be prepared to course correct and pivot A LOT as you move forward because it’s all part of the process But of course most people don’t have the attention span for that 😅
Thank you! I pray that the younger generation listen to more of this type of content. ❤
Great video.I agree I want to focus more on my life. I fall into that "this is my year" kind of thinking.
Great video! I’ve been watching quite a few “vision board” and “2024 goals” videos this time of year and most of them make me roll my eyes. It’s refreshing to hear your take, and you’re so spot on!!
Thank you for watching ☺️
TYSM for this video 🖤
Thankyou so much for watching 🥰
You are SO good, love your videos ♥
I made a vision board for the first time beginning of 2023 and I’m still walking towards those goals. No pressure on doing these changes every year because my planner only had life goals I’m still walking towards
Manifestation is a real thing… you manifest every single day. Some people work at It more than others and It depends on how much you believe and if you limit yourself on what you believe. Your reality starts with your mind.
Yeah but you also actually have to put in the work
Great video I had this idea as well that people consume the motivational content (books, events, social media) but not put in de work so much. Thank you for sharing this same tought! Al though I think reading books and going to events can be more good and that going on social media can do more harm. Just do it in moderation for time to time.
oooo loved that editing and intro!!
Yay! Thank you!
Go Caitlyn go!!! Love this new format you’re exploring. I didn’t follow you back in your luxury days (sorry 😬), so it’s been so refreshing and pleasant to see the changes you’ve made in your life (and the way your content reflects that). I enjoy luxury too, but good lord luxury content is a borefest. This is the what’s up - well researched thought pieces with a true point a view! I hope you enjoy making these videos, because we enjoy watching them. Hope you’re having a fantastic day!
Yay! Thank you!
Hope you’re having a great week xx
Caitlin I loved this and I cannot agree more with the person A or B analogy! I think there is a place for a degree of these motivational type content and there is definitely something appealing about it, after all there is nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself. Although personally, I have never been able to take it all seriously and even if I did, I have adhd so there is almost no way I am going to maintain this sort of lifestyle... let alone keeping those diaries and journals up to date.
Thankyou so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed that analogy
Thanks for engaging in my first ever long form style video it really means a lot 🥰
Great video and I completely agree as someone who believed in manifestation but did not put the work. But I also would like to add motivation is not enough as it is feeling that comes and go. And sometimes self motivation gets affected by life events… discipline is the key in my opinion
Very insightful and informative ❤😊
Thank you so much for this video! I've started the year getting rid of my self help books. I try to do more so I can finally get results;😄
You got this! 🥳
This was brilliant! It's funny this has come up actually, I used to be one of those colour-coded fancy planner people and I've recently changed to just using one pen and todo lists because I was driving myself crazy... I'd feel like a complete failure but also be unable to do -anything-, as well as falling into the self-help rabbit hole and the 'buy all the things to make myself feel better' rabbit hole constantly. I'm not sure I really have a point :') other than now I feel a bit better and can look back at this objectively, and I really think this needs to be spoken about more.
I do create a vision board, but I make sure it’s with things that are realistic. My goal is to be able to ‘replicate’ the pictures myself during that year to motivate myself to go do the things
You said you scaled back on self-improvement and feel better now because of it, what if that was supposed to be the plan all along? You are exactly where you are supposed to be ❤
The intro was sooo good ❤
Thankyou! My editor is amazing xx
Loving the long form content ❤
Thankyou! ❤️
Great listening and so agree and i think a dash of luck helps too
Incredible intro!
Fantastic video! Thank you very much! Now I need to digest it, but first, DO something that has been procrastinated for way too long. Thank you!
Love your new content. ❤️
Yay! Thank you! ❤️
Girl you are the voice of reason in a mad (virtual) world. I feel like tik tok is a cesspool of stupidity and laziness. If you need 100 motivational tik toks per day to get your ass off the couch, you need to check yourself for depression to say at least or check your laziness.
Thankyou ❤️
A point of view coming from a person with a lot of self development journey, personal experience like this is interesting!
Thankyou!
Omg I had the SAME feeling about the green light virtual self help event!! I loved the book he wrote and was so disappointed in the entire day and learning zero!!
Glad I wasn’t the only one! It was such a let down
There are defiantly people out there who think all their dreams and wishes will come true through pure manifestation and then get disappointed or even depressed when it doesn't happen. Vision boards seem to only be the end goal, not the 'what do I have to do to get there' part.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to level up, and visualization is a great tool to use to help you get into the right headspace to WORK at improving. For example, Olympic gold medalist Mary Lou Retton used visualization to perfect her moves, but she still practiced vigorously.
However, the flaw with manifestation is people believe that if they sit at home, say that they’re “claiming this”, and wish upon a star, they’ll get what they’re asking for. When they don’t get what they’re asking for, they’re disappointed because it “didn’t work”, and to add insult to injury, the “manifestation experts” tell them that it’s their fault because “they did it wrong.” The truth is that the people who got what they wanted put in a LOT of work (money, time, labor) to get it.
As the Britney Spears song says, if you want that hot body, that Bugatti, that Maserati, live in a big mansion and party in France, you gotta work, b1tch!
omg this vid is what I need ❤
☺️❤️
lol the ads I'm getting while watching this are for life coaching courses🙅♀
Brilliant, claiming!😂❤
Vision board _yes mainly to keep me on track
Diary _ trying as I’m a sticky note girl 😂
What are those gorgeous flowers behind you
Just live life. All of this overplanning, etc comes off as a bit control freak induced. And I worry about the emotional effects of it if nothing happens the way the person expects. I also have concerns about some of what these people are telling others that might be total hogwash and cause more problems than help because it's not based on any research or facts. I watch some of this stuff and scratch my head, wondering how much of it is reality and how much of it is a cash grab.
ABSOLUTELY AGREE 👍 X
In the military, we call this “50 meter targets” … it means to focus on the now and don’t overwhelm yourself with all tomorrow’s worries. Complete the task in front of you, then worry about what’s next. Have goals, but set them strategically and take it step by step so you don’t trip over your feet trying to sprint there.
Thankyou for sharing this! Xx
This philosophy of "manifestation" is a syncretistic fusion of Theosophy from the early 1900's, Buddhism, American New Age thought from the 1960s-1990s, watered-down Hinduism, the Urantia Book, and that wretched, toxic book "The Secret," much of this promoted by Oprah, too. Ultimately it means that you can somehow manipulate objective reality by the use of your mind. "It's your fault" is one of the results. Thls philosophy in its extreme ends asserts that EVERYTHING that happy to you is COMPLETELY your responsibility and is CAUSED SOLELY by your mind. I have even heard non-fascist, non-anti-Semitic people assert that the Jews ended up in camps during WWII because of their thought processes. This is clearly an offshoot of the strict sense of Karma and even reincarnation to some extent because by that idea, people are living their current lives because of whatever they did in a pervious life. Look at this long enough and see the absurdity of it all. People can even work their hardest, be focused, etc and still not achieve success. The point is that external factors and unforeseen adversity will thwart many goals and many things are beyond one's control. Have goals, strive for them, but also look at the obvious around you. All the meditation and chanting in the world won't manifest the items affixed to your dream board and life comes hard, with a thud, very frequently.
Great video
OMG to roadtrippin' with MM 😂😂😂😂
I signed up for that, didnt attend, proceeded to get SLAMMED WITH EMAILS promising this was the "last chance to change my life forever" 😂😂😂 omg it was so annoying
Omg yes the spamming of emails 😩 🙄
Just makes me think of that joke if fortune tellers can tell the future then why don't they win the lotto every time? 😁There is no quick fix, life is about work. 💪🏻
100 agree!
Thanks for watching 🥰
I am laughing so hard at Matthew McMcConaughey story! Lols
I do think digesting the content too much without actually acting on it is the downfall. Finding creators that can give you tangible ways to get to where you want to be is important. I for one, always have vision boards as my screen savers. I have been able to attract what's on it in my life as it reminds me why I am working on myself and my goals. I genuinely think there is great content out there and it does help people. But you can't help people who don't want to be helped and at the end of the day, it's up to the person to make it happen. Manifestation requires work and many of the original books out there tell you that. I agree that long-form content is much better for this topic than short-form as it's just a bit of a dopamine boost (which can be beneficial too to hype you up to keep going).
Is it weird that I have 1000 in some video games but it’s not this short form brain rot so I don’t feel that it’s bad? Like there’s a bunch of mental stimulation, planning, strategy and engagement that goes into my gaming. But even after an hour in TikTok I can literally feel the effects on my brain. It’s like hypnotizing. Literally. It’s giving Jim Carey’s Riddler from Batman.
Which brings up a point people used to say video games were destroying brains and they definitely can, moderation is key in life you can’t have too much of anything. But i barely use the app and occasionally get on to see a couple things and an hour or two can go by and it’s jarring. I can’t explain the feeling. Not something I ever experience gaming if that makes any sense. Just wondering if anyone else feels the same and if not I wanna hear from you too
I have seen lot of UK influencers I follow now with same goals. Use less phone, eat healthier, move more...bla bla bla tooooo boring.
No vision board!
But as a 53 year old I do the list and highlight it:)
I know that sounds weird generationally - but it was home baked in me.
We don’t have TikTok in Hong Kong - it’s banned.
But what I have seen of it - no good! It’s rubbish spat out by peeps who want attention.
Skip motivation- make it discipline
and all law of attacation if you belive and you have it all ready you have everything
To me manifesting is bullshit. I am an atheist and all these things seem like any other religion that will do nothing for me.
Instead of focusing on what i want, I am trying to focus on what i already have in 2024. I am focusing on preserving my heath, my friendships and my relationship. A new car, a bigger house and another handbag will not truly make my happy. Being consent with who i really am and being surrounded with good people will make happy tho.
Vision boards are out. Derision boards are in! Make a collage of the worst possible scenario that will motivate you negatively with fear and disdain! 😂
😂
I'm here right now, aren't I??? LOL
