May I say…I myself am a physician (MD) psychiatrist and my husband is a plastic surgeon. I 1000000000000% agree with this video. I cannot tell you how many patients come in with burns and deformities using these Instagram lip plumper and LED masks/ home lasers. You can end up paying a lot of money to a surgeon if things go wrong. Very extreme example, but something to consider.

I really like the turn your youtube channel took. It is more real and we need influencers like you, to influencing us with the right things and with the true!

I can’t wait to watch this. I feel like influencer recommended products feel like modern versions of teleshopping. Some stuff I can see how it fits with them but there certain mega influencers I’m suss off, like random Amazon products or like on travel side of things, it’s their 3rd “best suitcase” recommendation in 5 years

So many great talking points! Well done 😊 I was on the makeup hype train in my 20’s and it still hurts to look back at how much money was wasted because I thought I needed everything the beauty influencers has. The last time I wore makeup was 2-3 years ago for a wedding. You really only need a few items and that’s it. Even if u love makeup and that’s your thing there is no way you need drawers and drawers of products. We have one face and no matter how someone says “it’s their job” to try products. The amount of products that are coming out constantly there is no way your one face can actually try everything and give a fair review on them.

When you say that you’re “funny” about something, I hear that you’re picky. Nothing wrong with that! Thanks for the recommendation on the LED mask.

Caitlin, I am loving the new content you are putting out! I believe this type of editorial type content is more relevant now than the luxury haul sort. I think it also shows that more deliberate thought has been put into the message you are conveying to your viewers! Bravo, I look forward to more 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Cleanser, moisturizer/night cream, sunscreens. That's really all the basics anyone needs and if you want pigment help go to a laser place. Those places have dermatologists who know what they're doing.

Yes, yes, yes!!! This is what we all need to be reminded of. There are businesses that prey on our insecurities and we need to question ourselves whether we really need a lot of what influencers are selling. Brava!!!!!!!

Hi Caitlin! God bless you! I have used Kenzzii for a few years and it's cheaper than getting lasered with a professional. I barely get any hair on my legs and armpits anymore and I remember when I had it done on my face and arms for about 3 years, I paid $50 every treatment. So I gave Kenzzii a go and it has worked for me. This is non sponsored by the way 😂. I genuinely see it has worked for me.

Silica is great for hair and nails. I don't take many supplements for this hair and nails thing, but I will say liquid silica works. Also just good nutrition and drinking a lot of water really helps with hydration. Taking collagen supplements are also great but if you eat chicken soup it's just as effective.
A lot of time we feel bored and want to indulge ourselves or feel special, so buying something helps ease this inner emptiness.

Thank you very much for this. Totally agree with all your points especially hair gummies and IPL. Didn’t get to try gummies, got out, but IPL devices ads on instagram are evil. I built one 3-4 years ago. It promised 100 days no question ask money back guarantee. Needless to say , not only it didn’t work, gave me some burns but they dragged customer supper so long that I just abandoned any IPL to get my 99$ back.

About IPL - I considered it as well, when Nicole Guerrerro talked about it years ago. (I am a hairy girl, on my scalp and other places). Later I saw Cassandra Bankson using it on one leg, other leaving for shaving, to compare. After 6 monts I didn't see the results on Cassandra that I was expecting and I heard similar reaction to Philips device from an ex collegue. So, in the end I started a laser hair removal course at a salon and am very happy with the results (I am still going, I will have 5th appointment in 2 weeks) It is not as expensive anymore, the devices are good and there is no pain anymore while having it done (yes, I am having the intimate area and armpits done first. I will have legs done after these zones are finished). Have a nice day!

I'm not on social media (except YT...) so haven't heard anyone talking about the IPL device, but its something I was going to buy (the brand you're talking about) because I loved what laser did for me - but I since stopped and hair has grown back. I found them by googling but you made great points, I respect it - and will be looking into getting a Phillips one instead.

  • @melissa3232

    Great video. :)
I agree with most of them. And just like you, I have been considering getting an IPL device for the last 2-3 years (especially in summer). Still have not. 😂
I do however use hair gummies, just a regular drug store one from Germany. And it works! It does not help my existing hair grow, but it lead to more new hairs than before. (And I have used it consistently for months). But I don’t think you need a specific marketed, brand version.
Also I recommend fennel tea for bloating. :)

I bought one of those at home IPL devices and it didn’t work for me, used it once a week for a year and saw no results at all. I also agree with the hair gummies/vitamins, I personally saw no results but there are some vitamins I do take that I saw results with.

I use the hair gummies from a pharmasist house brand it is like 8 euro and it works really good for me, I also can grow my nails because of it. I have the special one for hair and nails. I also use the Mason Pearson hair brush which really really works, 100% recommend. I alsways get compliments for my long hair with a lot of volume

I totally agree, but about IPL: I am so happy with my device from Philips (I bought myself) After a few years my hair is almost completely gone I just do mainuenance once or t wice a year.
I also feel the same about the red light for your face. The one you have is so expensive. Do you have an alternative? x Linda

Well, actually the home ipl works wonder for me. It works with my underarms and legs! I do like once a week for a year.
But for the brazilian part sadly no and I end up going to the clinic to the the procedure. But even so, the doctor said that my hair loss progress in that area is super quick. And I guess it has something to do with the home ipl.

Just go to a dermatologist and get actual medical advice about hair growth - they will develop an individualized plan for you that is research based. Don’t waste your time or money on people who don’t know what they’re taking about.
