  • In this video, Dave is fitting an oil pressure sender unit from Don Pender in the Philippines.

    To centre the oil pressure gauge banjo, take a piece of solid copper wire from some house wiring and strip off the insulation. Wrap the wire around the bolt and try the banjo. If it's a good fit you're done. If it's too tight, hammer it a little flat and try again until you get a reasonable fit. The copper is soft so it will work around a little if it has to but it will centre your banjo bolt within reason so the copper gasket washers can seat.

    A better way to do this if you want to go this far is to drill through the rocker spindles (out of the head) allowing the oil to flow through the spindles instead of in an oil line looped over the head and just attach the sender to the head. The spindles are case-hardened so you'll have to do a little grinding before you drill or have it wire edmed.

    Why not super glue floating washer to hold it until tightening.

    Kick start lever has seen better days.

      I believe that’s the original kickstart lever. The bike had been down hard many years before I got it.
