I think this represents how scale aircraft actually should be modeled. The panel line detail is appropriate and well executed, not over done like eyeliner on a 5-0 year old rocker. There is also not enough grime all over the aircraft to suggest that it leaks all fluids constantly and can’t even fly do you lack of repair. Well executed build!
Oh Grumman Mcdonnell Douglas F-14/A Tomcat is one of my favorite jets, even more so when it was used on the TOPGUN, I had mounted a 1:72 scale model, VF-84 squadron with a skull with two bones crossing the vertical empennage, served on the door -Theodore Rooselt planes 1989. My mother destroyed it by dusting the shelf, it was him and an AV8B Harrier, who went to the ground, shot down by an enemy duster HAHAHAHA. They were really beautiful pieces that I had. Nice job with this model you made in this video.
Awsome build! Question, Do you use clear coat before using tamiya panel line wash? And, Do you eet the cotton swab to remove exces panel line wash or is the cotton swab dry?
RIO's radar screen needs to be turned 90 degrees clockwise. The V always goes downward to where the point of origin is (the aircraft). Other than that this is awesome!
@@ArkansasBassMan Yeah but then you'd have to reprogram the computer to show everything sideways and retrain the RIO to be able to read it all from the right side and... It's a whole thing man.
That looks amazing So i am new to the finer details of building. I need to ask i primed my model with enamel rattle can paint. Then when i started gluing it seems a big mess
What color tamiya paint did you use for the front edge of the wings? Doesn’t say in the instructions what this is but I know it’s accurate based on real life f-14s! Love the model!
Thank goodness their are pilot figures included! WAY too many expensive jet kits are pilotless now. What is wrong with the manufactures?? They force you to build a sexy streamlined jet sitting on the ground like a dead spider. Every door, hatch, access panel is open with a pilotless cockpit so what....you can see the seat belts in 1/48 scale? It's a bit crazy I think. PLEASE put pilot figures back in the jet kits like the old Mongram/Revell kits did. Then you can build them as in flight where jets are meant to be modelled if you want to. Nice build. Closed cockpit looks GREAT and someone is flying it!
This blew me away. I've been a modeler my whole life but this is another level. I'm wondering what the final black wash was that you applied. I gasped but that made it pop for sure.
Gorgeous build! I wish I had this kind of talent. The one thing that is killing me though is that TID decal lol. I don't know why it bothered me so much.
@@MODELBOX1 It's just the orientation. I'm no RIO so maybe that is a proper orientation but I've always seen it in a (V) orientation or slightly skewed left or right. Unless I was looking at it wrong it looks like it is oriented like this (>). Maybe that is a proper orientation as well. Like I said I'm not a RIO (or even a cat pilot). Thanks for showing me how you built this beautiful machine. I love it!
I don't understand the thought behind highlighting all the panel lines, only to paint over them, then turn around and highlight them again, only to paint over them again.
Apparently to give it texture. I just follow the lines with black. Follow up with a weathering stencil for NAVY type aircraft. Then carefully paint the actual colors while preserving the prior details. Comes out very nicely. However, real aircraft have the panel lines clean because that is what maintainers touch. The inner part of the panel is dirty due to nobody touching. A lot of modelers forget that.
only thing left is a highly detailed near realistic model of the totally gorgeous nuclear powered 103,000 ton super (CATOBAR) carrier USS George Washington (CVN-75) in 1/14 scale from Tamiya . . .
Nice build. Did you use the supplied decals or the aftermarket raised set for the interior? I have never built a jet. Now I have a better understanding on how to paint my F14 when I build it. Just subbed your channel.

Why we love DCS, why we love scale model, why we love flying.
you nailed it :)
Say what you are doing and using, Daaaaa !!!!!
Nicely done. This is my favorite aircraft as my father was the chief safety inspector for it for 25+ years.

Good solid build, nice subtle weathering.

Awesome build. Working on CAG plane now. I was Plane Captain for VF32 and 207 was my plane, name was on nose landing gear door..
Really? 👍👍👍
10/10 video right here. First vid ive seen of yours and im subbed!
Joli travail quel beau résultat
Great job, Tomcat maintenance motto was if it’s not leaking it’s broke..👍🏻
Awesome build mate thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
Fantastic paintwork!
That's REALLY impressive mate. Subscribed!
와~ 저도 이 킷에 ka 에칭 적용해서 만들고 있어요 ^^~ 많이 참고할께요~
Feliz año nuevo a todo el mundo.
Saludos desde Mallorca.🎄🎉🍻👍
Nice F-14A! Happy new year 🥳
Наиполнейшая!!!!
TY for a job perfectly done.
Stunning work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great job.... 🤩🤩🤩
Felicitaciones y feliz año nuevo 👍 👍 👍
Please tell me what brand brushes you are using. Great job as well.
Harder & Steenbeck airbrush INFINITY CR Plus 0.2mm👍
Quality build my friend 👍👍
Beautiful Job! Wish I had the time to get back into the hobby. Note: Horizontal Stabilizers need to be tilted the other way for takeoff.
There's always time. Even an hour a week is better than nothing.
I wish I could get back that time. That I thanks to one can of enamel🙂
Great result! :)
A marvelous art!!
Wow. Beautiful. Well done.
Beautiful model bro well done 👍
Great built. Well done. 👍
super nice... excellent job.
Amazing build! Well done😍✌️
Great work. Would much prefer to hear you talk about the process and techniques applied than the music ;-)
Awsome build! Question, Do you use clear coat before using tamiya panel line wash? And, Do you eet the cotton swab to remove exces panel line wash or is the cotton swab dry?
I use clear coat before panel line wash.(In this time I use black oil paint)
And remove excess panel by cotton swab with enamel thinner. 🙂
@@MODELBOX1 , thanks for the reply!
Nice video and amazing model! congrats!!
Very nice job 👍
beautiful 🥰🥰
Nice build, and what are wash are you slathering onto the model?
Superb model. Congratulations and thank you for sharing. Hope to see more models soon.
Awesome, 👍

Easiest way to fix this is by opening the nosecone and rotating the AWG9 .

Wow, this is really beautiful work.
Nice, thanks
i recognize dcs when i see dcs to recognize
That looks amazing

Love the intro man
Great work! Where could I buy a full-built set with background built in a display box?
Awesome 😎
What color tamiya paint did you use for the front edge of the wings?
Doesn’t say in the instructions what this is but I know it’s accurate based on real life f-14s! Love the model!
I think I used flat aluminum(XF-16)🧐
Sweet 🤗
Thats scale!💪👍
Very nice. What brand wash did you use?
Oil paint black and tamiya enamel thinner😀
Devil is in the details.... but this is some real next level $HIT !!! WOW!!
Superb build. Well done sir.
I see you use an H&S Infinity...what needle did you use?
Yhea, you know~. I use H&S cr plus point 2. It is too expensive, but it worth😁
Nice work but long way to go before a master. I noticed two different sets hand's working on the build. Perhaps a husband and wife project?
I will keep trying.
Hmm, all hands are mine🙂

Im a beginner in modelbuilding but this set
Is it possible to build it with the wings swept?
Wow! How long would this take somebody like yourself? Thanks
a very nice reproduction; other models i've seen on UA-cam were excessively weathered
don't wanna know about the songs wanna know what paints you were using.
as beautiful as it looks in DCS!
This blew me away. I've been a modeler my whole life but this is another level. I'm wondering what the final black wash was that you applied. I gasped but that made it pop for sure.
What is the black wash that you applied? I usually make my own but I've never used bottled. It looks perfect. If you could let me know please. Thanks
Yhea, it’s oil paint black thinned by enamel thinner 🙂. Dry a day and wash with enamel thinner softely.
@MODELBOX could you elaborate more. New to model building and working on this model now
Why Aim-9 in two pieces? Got the buy one to find out.
Gorgeous build! I wish I had this kind of talent. The one thing that is killing me though is that TID decal lol. I don't know why it bothered me so much.
Sorry about that, althouth please give me some advice next time.😄

Im an amateur builder. But man, i need this set ❤️
Wonderful work, working on mine right now, how did you get the piece with deployed flaps, my kit didn't come with that.
It’s carrier launch set’s new part.
Oooooook... where's the carrier launch set?
Great work! 2 quick questions---what kind of airbrush and does the Tamiya thin paint work well with painted surfaces?
My airbrush is H&S infinity.
Tamiya acrylic color has no problem with over paint.
Not to rain on your parade but you really need to look at some F-14s and see what they really look like after a few months at sea.
Hey what was that black stuff that you painted on the plane at the time 21:29 ?
It’s thinned oil paint black color.
@@MODELBOX1 aight bro thanks it will help alot with raised panel lines
I thought it included the flight deck as well
Is there any particular reason that apply glue between parts onto seam, despite the 2 surfaces come in contact???
I usually don't want the paint to break due to movement, so I glue even the attached part. Tell me exactly what part it is and I'll reply again.
@@MODELBOX1 Thank you for quick answer, you cover me.

I used aftermarket for interior part, however supplied decal is also good.
@@MODELBOX1 very good 🇨🇱👌
I watched the whole freaking thing and didn’t see jack on how the deck was finished.
Deck is a paper cutout. Nothing to build on except catapult shuttle
