- For this project, we take a rare Pajero EVO from factory silver to an ultra glossy, sanded and flow-coated black peelable paint color change using AutoFlex liquid wrap.
I prefer it how it was originally.
Congrats 👍🏼
What a insane looking legend...
I have a black one in the UK I thought mine had a paint job but I was told it was factory, I’m not convinced as I have searched and there are defo no sights of black ones. Must admit black looks so beasty as does yours. ✌️
Thanks! Agreed, it looks amazing in black 👌🏼 Didn’t see any factory ones being available black either, but maybe it was a special pre-order in that desired color? Either way, suits the car great! 🙌🏼
Awesome job! Just got my Pajero Evo and am thinking about painting it red
Do you use double sided tape to re-install the emblems and letters? And how may coats did you spray before the clear?
@@DawgcityClev Yes, we use the 3M emblem-specific adhesive for emblems if we can’t find new, quality replacement emblems online. And number of full *wet coats ranges based on specific colors, spraying preferences, need to thin-out, etc… It typically falls between 6-10 full coats, but for full vehicles will always go by the necessary volume of base in gallons needed for vehicle sizes. So around 4+ gallons for standard coupe/sedan, 5+ for large sedan/crossover, 6-7+ for SUVs/trucks, etc…
@@rosecitydip I've been spraying a different product for about 4 years and was thinking about trying AutoFlex since they finally released it to those of us who spray from the garage.
@@DawgcityClev That is nice that it’s more easily accessible now! What’s your setup like? Ventilation, air compressor size, HVLP spray gun and tip size selection, etc… Also, do you have experience with and equipment for cut & buff? AutoFlex is very different from the DIY options out there, and really should be treated like auto paint, not dip.
Amazing
Does it never not rain there? Great job by the way.
Haha! We get some sun for a few months in the summer 😂
Trust me bro... White was looking more elegant. Anyways... Good job done on that. Cheers.
Well it was silver lol, but thanks!
Never see you peel when wet, what’s the key to the masking tight seals? Or is auto flex able to cut cleanly when peeling tape?
Correct, AutoFlex cures into a much more rigid coating that peels with much cleaner lines when unmasking. A little bit of scoring with a razor is needed here and there, but it definitely has cleaner peel on its own.
Thanks re the response, haven’t sprayed auto flex just yet. Definitely lots of pros to the product.

Just curious as to why you wouldn't rub down the original paint to the metal, thus removing any imperfections, as by simply painting back over, those imperfections will still show..??
Because it’s liquid wrap, not traditional paint. The idea is to have it be removable and leave the original paint underneath in the same condition as before.
@@rosecitydip Is that like plasti dip?
@@ron4413 sort of the same idea, but much better quality with far closer of a result to paint than vinyl or dip. Our intro video has more information on our AutoFlex system!
Wooow
What’s the price for that paint job?
$6,500 for this specific install
Black loses the character of the . Now I see why sliver and white are everywhere
I also thought I was going to like it more but no - Silver will do
Not the best colour for it.
@@NikolayKirilov-qp3dh Good news is you’re free to make yours whatever color you want! 🤙🏼
@@rosecitydip military green better
Sorry...but there are certain colors that does not works for certain cars...This car is iconic for its flare and wide body. and fenders curves....the black takes it all away...on light colors the shadows shows much more body details and curves on the body ...with black all gets lost....the only thing you see is a black box...all the body lines disappears. From a distance looks like a regular car on black...with light colors on a distance you can see and know that it is a Evo Pajero
Black is an exception it looks sexy on all cars
@@abhishekroyce3646 well...not on this one lol
I actually got one myself, it has to be a complete restoration, engine rebuild and body, because of the condition it was in. I’ve painted it black because all of my vehicles are black, but I totally agree with you that the black just doesn’t work. The original color was Silver and I’ll change it to that color eventually. Also, it’s an iconic and I don’t believe you change an icon. It’s an icon for a reason.
