Hello again! I'm currently watching your entire DRG painting series. Your work on the base was great! I hope you don't mind if i copy this!?^^ It just looks too good. 👌🏼
There is some saying about "imitation is the ultimate form of flattery" I think :) I put these out to give people ideas and copy as you see fit. I'm not a master artist by any means so happy people are getting use from them. I'll start cranking out more episodes soon with all the resin prints I have for the expansion. I fixed my discord link I had and if you go there you can see some of my first finished "attempts" at the driller and engineer revisions as well that I didn't release video for until I get it right. discord.com/invite/HhCpcxRXZd I tossed a few photo's in the "Share-Your-Painting-Pictures" Section at the top.
Great video as always. I love the finished look. I think I might actually try and paint my Glyphid figures but in a different color pallete(something like pink/blue, red/sand yellow) to match the maps in the game. Also I'd say the right pic of the Glyphid looks better for the glow
Thanks! The one on the right was the Liquitex Fluorescent Green ink I just got for doing them that I prefer as well, and the Oppressor has the same glow it seems from the in-game footage. I think it would be cool to do some of the Ice area color schemes. The blues and whites on some of them.
That color is pretty intense red so I was probably wanting to dial it back a tad. Might have been the consistency as well so I wanted to thin it down a tad since that front of the engineer is a large flat area to get it to go on smooth as possible. The speedpaint medium definitely helps lighten up the colors, and makes the thicker ones flow a bit better for me throughout the series. The Purple Alchemy for instance, it shows a pinkish color on the bottle picture, but I swear it's almost a reddish purple if I don't cut it with Speedpaint medium, example in Episode 14 I just posted for the shield mound on the Warden. It's just something you have to experiment with a bit and find you way with the Speedpaints. I don't like thinning them with water though, as that always seems to break the proper consistency of the Speedpaints.

Great job, what's the purpose of mixing the speed paint medium to the blood red speed paint?
