Again, still waiting for the Age Gaps Part 3 video. That aside though, I wasn’t expecting Deadpool & Wolverine to appear on the (digital presentation) board. 13:24 Ah, there it is. “There are 206 bones in the human body. 207 If I’m watching Gossip Girl.” 17:00 LMAO Also, 17:15 clever. 23:55 Funnily enough, I think that this movie would easily surpass its source material if it took inspiration from Spider-Man 3. 25:10 Why is Atlas not holding up the sky? Is he stupid? 30:30 So it’s more like Oppenheimer in terms of seriousness. 37:05 What about the other people who happened to marry on a place that had a plantation on it but the place itself is very much far from being a plantation? Just asking. 39:33 Ryan Reynolds IS funny, so… 51:28 Shawshank Redemption does have funny moments, but it’s not a comedy. Far from it. It’s still the greatest movie, ever, of course. 1:09:42 Makeup-less Nikki jumpscare. 1:16:14 I had a dream about a woman who looked like her and had more disturbing songs, despite the fact that I had never heard of Ethel at the time. 1:23:35 I don’t regret saying what I said at the start of this comment, but JESUS CHRIST. 1:27:15 Yeah, I chose Door D.
The ironic thing about Blake trying to have a Barbenheimer moment, is that it could have worked if she realized that her movie was the Oppenheimer in this equation.
Funnily enough, this is exactly what the movie directors of Lolita wanted you to do. The author of the book rolls in his grave every time someone says they want to watch the movies.
@@ettaetta439real, Nabokov said that his first reaction to the movie was “a mixture of aggravation, regret, and reluctant pleasure,” but “aggravation and regret soon were the only feelings left” bro hated the movie and wished it was never made bc of how they whitewashed all the aspects of it. i feel so bad for him and bc of that i will NEVER watch that movie.
What made me realize Blake is an airhead celebrity is advertising her alcohol brand AND NAMING A DRINK AFTER THE ABUSER IN THE MOVIE when alcohol can make abusers so much WORSE!!! How did no one around her go "Hey! Maybe not this, huh!?"
And it's nothing new, even when she was in gossip girl, she was always making very shallow comments during interviews, she doesn't take ANYthing seriously.
Anytime I see someone on Facebook bragging about their marriage being perfect, I know divorce is on the horizon. Blake and Ryan give me the same vibe, something is wrong if you have to prove to the world you love your life.
Not to mention that the first glimpse of physical violence we get within the book (or at least I think as I have never read it, only watched reviews) is while they're both tipsy and Ryle gets mad at Lily for being giggly after accidentally hurting himself. The first time he hits her. He's lightly drunk. To name a drink after him is genuinely kinda insane to me.
@@ablistair In one of the pivotal scenes (I happened to see the movie, just to be an informed hater) he's drunk when he tries SAing Lily!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S NUTS!
The thing is, Justin might not be an angel but everything against him is alleged…meanwhile everything wrong about Blake is VIDEOTAPED and well documented! She literally did all those things unprovoked: the alcohol campaign, the hair product, the “grab your friends and wear your florals”, the problematic past interviews, the “not wanting to talk about DA”… Also his “friends” might not take his side publicly because Blake is clearly more influential (she has more connection in the industry) so it’s not surprising
Not only that, but saying that the woman who idolizes toxic men and the woman who idolizes her, saying they think someone is toxic, makes me not really trust their judgement of what is a toxic man. Especially when most of Hoover's other books have men who literally r*pe women and that's seen as sexy. They've shown nothing but disrespect towards women while Justin did everything he could to be respectful. Not only that but he does a podcast against toxic masculinity and you know that's like Hoover's favorite thing ever.
@@AshChiCupcak right?! Like it’s not surprising that Blake and others (except Justin) didn’t talk about DV… the book itself doesn’t really do its best at condemning it in the first place ! This all thing was problematic even before the press tour bc Hoover herself is problematic af… glad ppl are finally realising it
the entire making of this movie is so INFURIATING to me because of how clearly Colleen Hoover does not actually advocate for dv victims with her constant use of abusive male leads. why are we giving this woman a bigger platform again???
same here, I actually unfollowed justin baldoni when i found out he was going to be working on it. I celebrated when they paused production for a while.
@@annabelledrake2027 I mean he did it with the intent of actually showcasing DV and how it affects woman and men. he had the right intentions you can see it with how he's advocated for mens mental health and how he promoted the movie. I think he just wanted a bigger platform/fanbase and COHO has a huge influence so if he spread a message using her title it'd read a wider audience.
@@АнастасияМакарович this is 100% my own interpretation, but to me RR and R&M both have the same “I’m so self aware and satirical that I can say whatever I want and people will think i’m being philosophical, when in reality i’m just kind of an asshole” kind of comedy that just feels more uncomfortable and less funny every time you watch it
the part about blake constantly bringing up taylor swift is giving that annoying try-hard kid you meet at summer camp who swears their parent(s) work for a famous company or someone famous is their friend/family so people can think they're cool and be their friend. like... the immaturity
I've said it before. I'll say it again. The only thing Blake Lively accomplished was exposing more people to how absolutely disgusting this book has always been. Lively treated the topic of abuse with the same amount of respect Hoover did: None
To be fair she did dozens of interviews and people only picked the ones that she deviated from the subject and they went viral the hate Blake is getting is crazy and worse than the hate diddy got, crazy
@zizojaezekeom3565 grab your friends! wear your florals!! While advertising for a DV movie is craaazy!! Though, I agree that Diddy did not receive enough hate, mostly because people turned him into a joke and sadly forgot about his actual crimes.
@@Pinkcrocs239 when it comes to men's crimes their sins get overshadowed by the jokes. People are more concerned about making pee jokes about r Kelly than the impact he had on aaliyah and other young girls
@@zizojaezekeom3565 Are you starting to notice that annoying women get more hate than bad men? Just take a glance at Rachel Zegler (live action Snow White) for evidence of that one
Blake Lively using her money to become executive producer and then taking over the costume department on a movie about abusive behavior and then bragging about it on the press tour to showcase her personal style is peak privilege.
I am fully convinced that Ryan and Blake just wanted to recreate the Barbenheimer phenomenon, hence her telling people to wear their florals, the same way people wore Pink to see Barbie. Blake in particular probably misses her Gossip Girl era. Back then, she was one of the "It Girls" of Hollywood, which is probably why she talks so much about herself, uses designer clothes and promotes her business. While I am sure she has many loyal fans, people didn't talk about her in terms of her acting career anymore (unless it was about that one old show) and more so about her Met Gala looks, which I don't know if she can take credit for if she chose the horrible outfits for this movie. I think she just wanted people to focus on her career again, and for a longer period of time--not just when there is a Met Gala, which happens once a year...
People fail to see that Barbenheimer was a mostly organic phenomenon regarding two movies that had nothing in common except their release date. Wearing pink to Barbie started as a meme that was an extension of people wearing suits to go watch the minions movie that Barbie marketing simply leaned into, the lead actress of the film telling you to wear florals is not the same as everyone going along to the pink theme even if the movie wasn't about dv
And Blake and Ryan’s antics with this film are probably going to make any serious directors/screenwriters think twice before casting her, because who wants to deal with Blake bringing in her A-list husband to throw his weight around and re-write scenes and make it all about them. I’m sure some clout-chasing or struggling directors will be ok with that mess, but I doubt any serious directors. Blake is not talented enough to have to deal with her mean girl power plays.
I don't care about this book/movie, but it did find the casting of Blake Lively weird because she's not a good or serious actor. She didn't take an ounce of this seriously and it shows
I'm thinking the casting came with the offer to produce/bankroll the film, which I'm actually confused about bec IEWU is v popular, I'm sure there would have been a lot of other investors. But I guess not.
And weird, given her own hair always looks frizzy with split ends that are at least 5 years old, like I wouldn't touch her hair care line with a 10 foot pole...
As soon as I heard the male lead is a neurosurgeon and I saw his appearance my mind couldn't stop thinking "what if this was a gray's anatomy fanfiction with the self insert protagonist format?" 😭
43:54 is SPOT ON. I've dealt with so many shaming, unsupportive people who act shocked that you develop PTSD from ab*se. It's a double whammy when you not only survive ab*se but all the stigma that comes later. I also think people expect survivors to be "Superwoman", an inspirational story of a survivor who goes on to success. But if you're messy, imperfect, heal slowly, or need help you will be shamed for not living up to that standard.
When I first came out with the realization I was SA’d by my partner during my freshman year of high school, not only was I shamed, by the person I trusted the most at the time(my bsf but no longer is) Got the lovely the response of “well you dated him and so that really didn’t count, anyways I’m hungry you ready to eat burgers?” Wiped my dumb tears away and agreed because in his view I wasn’t the perfect victim and was annoyed to deal with “an inconvenience” so this definitely needs more recognition and thank you for pointing it out!! P.s I’m way better now and in a loving and healthy 2 year + relationship and still in the process of healing but getting there!!:)
i always felt like the blake lively ryan reynolds plantation wedding was an “easier to ask for forgiveness than permission” type deal where they knew what was up, they just wanted to get married there and knew that it wasn’t a big enough scandal to ruin their careers if they apologized after
@@poopoo8475 believe when i tell you soooo many people had plantation weddings. Not only was there a time were it wasn't seen as something bad but they were actually a thing and veeery popular up until a few years ago because they were considered "pretty" and "aesthetic" and a "good place for pictures", not taking in consideration AT ALL the history of them. And yeah, all you have to do is think for like 10 seconds as to why having a wedding in a plantation is a horrible idea but it goes very in brand with how out of touch Ryan and Blake are and how they live in their own privileged little world.
“It ends with us” would’ve/could’ve been a meaningful book over domestic violence if it hadn’t been written by someone who glorifies abuse and writes about anything but the domestic violence in the book for example random government platinum chairs to make the purpose of the story aka the abuse seem like a side quest
Nah fr. I've said this since the drama but I feel like Blake is being everyone's punching bag when to be honest, Colleen herself has always done a shit job of promoting her books as anything other than romance novels. Blake Lively isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it just seems weird everyone came for her right away when Colleen herself wrote the book and maybe even attempted to advertise it in that manner. We don't even know if Blake Lively was told to market it like that.
And what doesn’t help the book is the fact that Colleen Hoover *fell in love with Ryle* in the first half of the book and was considering writing a happy ending for the couple.
I was waiting for you to mention that , I’m pretty sure it was Justin himself , but he talked about how when it came to the abusive scenes he had times when he stopped/cried because of how uncomfortable he was doing that type of stuff. Also when it comes to the ‘lingering kiss’ thing that in some bts Blake is shown to be directing justin to hold her this way and just you know being a director . I just thought since you mentioned the other stuff , you would’ve included those too . Love you and your content 🧎♀️
This was a long video so I understand why some things were missed, but I agree that video really changed my opinion about the whole situation. In the interview she looks so guilty that she’s being asked about it.
Justin CHOSE to make a movie that glamourizes DV against women. The way women like you baby him and treat him like this sweet innocent guy that cares about DV victims and was forced into making a movie that makes light of it is actually insane
Same ick vibe as if they remade Lolita, used Lana Del Rey's unreleased "Little Girls" in the soundtrack, and the protagonist told everyone to "wear their knee socks and pleated skirts" all while promoting their own line of sweets with names like "Humbert Humbugs" 🤢
I need to make sure people understand the plantation wedding mess. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively got married in 2012 at the Boone Hall PLANTATION. They did not say anything about this for 8 YEARS until the black lives matter movement happened in 2020 which RYAN apologised for the mistake. If the BLM did not happen, he would not have apologised. When you choose a place to get married they will give you a tour so you know where to set everything up, how many guests, where the bride and groom get dressed etc. and to sell you on the place they will even give you a history lesson! “Pinterest” is the worst excuse.
EXACTLYYY its just not a mistake you can make. its not like someone tweeting something problematic when they were 12, they were fully grown adults and chose to get married on SLAVE STREET. they knew exactly where they were and what they were doing, they just didnt care. i honestly just cannot comprehend WHY they wanted it so bad in the first place, they were filthy rich and had their pick of any farmhouse in the country 😬
I had a Ryle in my class as a kid. All I remember is he was short, and i forced myself to have a crush on him to distract myself from the cute girl in the grade above me.
Calling ryan reynolds "the rick and morty of actors" is one of the most scathing but truthful reads ive heard in a WHILE and it had me in TEARS laughing
I think Blake's promotion of it is truly how CoHo wants it promoted, because CoHo SAYS she's protective of it, but openly admits she "fell in love with Ryle" and didn't want to make him a bad guy, and basically implies very heavily that if Ryle just finds a good woman to fix him, he'll stop being abusive. CoHo stands with Blake, not Justin, nor either of them, in how it's promoted. Blake's wrong, but I think she's on the same page as CoHo You know, maybe it's just like, me, but I think the allegations against Justin aren't bad if like, you consider A) CoHo and Blake clearly want to paint this movie as a beautiful romance between Lily and Ryle and also Lily and Atlas, which would be why he was in constant conflict with both of them and "wanted control of the project" because he seems to be the only one who understands that this movie is about domestic violence, B) that like you said he has back problems and needs to know how to properly lift her without hurting either of them, and C) Maybe he missed any sign she was uncomfortable? Like it literally could have been a miscommunication, a misunderstanding, an accident, he thought she was also acting because we don't know what kiss it was and it could be one where Ryle kisses Lily to manipulate her; who knows.
In much better words, this is exactly what I've been saying. I had a hard time siding with someone that Colleen Hoover agrees with. I'm not here to pick any side but I do have a hard time believing that Justin is inherently wrong just because no one has taken his side. I DO however get white knight vibes from him
i’m also like iffy on the claims that he was being a dick by not allowing blake and coho to make script rewrites and changes because like that’s really not their role as writer and producer. like there are cases where the writer or producer will have more sway because the writer has a lot of clout and could tank the movie like el james on the 50 shades set or the producer will threaten to pull funding if they don’t get their way or maybe the director is just like really open to collaboration and taking in suggestions but ultimately the director is supposed to be the one in control. like i’ve produced a few short films and i can make suggestions and the writer can make suggestions but it’s ultimately it’s supposed to be the directors vision
Considering Colleen based Ryle off of her dad who she definitely does not see as a abuser, it explains alot about how she views Ryle and her other male love interests.
I think Blake's been spending too much time around Ryan. She tries to be as sarcastic, ironic and funny as he is but she clearly isn't naturally funny enough to pull it off. Just comes off super awkward and mean.
And he is? They act the exact same, I don't think it's any funnier just because it's him saying shit. But that might just be me, the Ryan Reynolds "charm" has worm off on me some time ago....
bro is not funny tho.. I've watched my very first interview of him cuz I liked the interviewer and was appalled at how forced and cringy his jokes were but at least you could tell he's joking ig no matter how unfunny it was
Blake was like this even before Ryan. If you've seen the video of her subtly calling Leighton (Meester) a monkey and playing it off as a joke, she was already awful then.
@@meiilu7799It’s just being used as an expression here. We know that she’s literally going to be around him a lot since they’re married, but it’s being used here more so to say “she’s trying too hard to be like the man she found endearing enough to marry, but she is not naturally witty, sarcastic, or funny & her mean girl energy definitely makes it worse.” I took some creative liberties there but hopefully you get what I mean, lol.
Here’s a thing… Everything that’s come out regarding Justin is hearsay. Now when it comes to Miss Flowers over there, there’s an overwhelming amount of VIDEO EVIDENCE of her being an absolute nightmare of a person for no reason. And even in one of those videos she’s literally ganging up on the interviewer with the other actress, then mean girl style ignore her! So, just based on those facts alone, I’m not surprised one bit by the idea that she took over the project and got everyone on her side. It sounds crazy to say out loud about adults; but like I said… Just looking at the evidence and the fact that she won’t shut up about all of the things she ended up doing for the movie, makes me think that Justin has been setup for failure.
Exactly and everyone on the set is on Justin’s side. He’s done multiple movies they would’ve said something about him already. Blake is more influential ofc everyone’s gonna be on her side it’s called the bystander effect
I mean, ofc we should never completely rule out the allegations against Justin. But honestly I have to agree with you. I can also completely see how blake could spin things to make them seem much worse. For example, when that interviewer says "congrats on your little bump" or when the interviewer asked abt her outfits. I can see Blake spinning it and calling the former fatphobic and the latter misogynistic. Something similar could be happening with Justin as well.
its so foul millions of men and women have never been able to tell their story of abuse because they are dead and blake chooses to represent the main character as THAT??
As a fellow survivor, I honestly really love how you're able to be so open about what you went through, and in the same video, be making silly jokes about balls lmao. I feel like we're often expected to be really serious or emotional about this topic but that's exhausting to go through all the time and I appreciate the silly goofy survivor representation 💜
I always saw her as a side character in gossip girl honestly. She didn't really add much to the show outside of looking confused half the time. Dan felt more like a main character.
It’s really funny that everyone loves her because shes supposedly so effortlessly charming when she’s just kind of flat and boring the whole time. She doesn’t ever have any emotion in her voice. Every other character was more interesting and had better actors
Lol I remember Gossip Girl starting to air on cable in my country in the early 2010s and being SO CONFUSED that Blair - with her witty one-liners, impeccable fashion sense, and Leighton Meester's megawatt charisma - was NOT, in fact, the main character 😂
I always thought it was funny, how every two minutes in the show she said "I've gotta go" and throw a cell phone away. Pretty sure, that wasn't even acting
This whole movie just seems like a big advert for Blake Lively. Costume is a huge part of how we see characters, and it’s fine if Blake wanted some of her own pieces in the movie, but at least make it make sense! For a movie who’s promotion was so focused on aesthetic, all of the visuals just look so ugly 😭
Please don't take the Daily Mail seriously:( it's a trash tabloid with zero ethics. the other stories are conveniently subjective and vague things like 'making people uncomfortable'. If he wanted to "deliberately fat shame her" I think he would have said something to her or in her presence. It's really clear that she's the source for all the vague unprovable stories.
im so sick of Hollywood hiring actors 15 years older than the characters, its so annoying seeing a character thats 23 in the book played by a 37yr old grown woman. This is an important story to tell and represent honestly and why do they continue to choose these big name celebs that do not match the role bc they want the movie to be seen instead of actually making quality film and choices in casting, thus making a good movie that people will pay money to see. Or at least actually giving out some of their precious budget to pay for effective advertising....
like ngl some of the fashion choices and the behavior of the main character would be less jarring if we didn't see a 37 year old woman and saw a 23 year old. Like it makes more sense a 23 yr old will act like that then BLAKE LIVELY
@@lovelife5944 I'd love to agree but her voice adds to the unhingedness (?) of the videos. It feels like she's always on the verge of just losing it and walking away from life. 😅
Taylor Swift is notoriously icked out by people name dropping her for clout. If any of this got back to her, it wouldn’t surprise me that she didn’t promote the film. Also, her PR team is like the Avengers of PR & if they told her not to promote it, she’d definitely follow their advice.
My dad was going on a date with this women, and he suggested seeing the new Alien (my idea your welcome, dad), but she wanted to see this movie first, and then see Alien with him (second date opportunity). He agreed. He told me about this and I said “oh well let’s watch the trailer to see what you’re getting into” We watched the trailer together and both looked at each other and silently communicated; “You got invited to watch a chick flick.” Yeah, needless to say the advertising is misleading. Ps: he came home very confused.
Colleen Hoover legitimately reminds me of one of those creepy Nice Girls that romanticize stalking("I wish I had a guy who was THAT dedicated to ME.. boys never look twice at me and only like cheerleaders boohoo [TSwift U belong w Me intensifies]" and turning domestic abusers into sweet little puppy dogs just by "loving them enough/the right way". Meaning, she very likely has never been in an actual DV relationship, but rather has likely chased unattainable and emotionally unavailable men who just weren't that into her, creating romanticized versions of them in her own twisted little imagination. It's sad and pathetic and herself insert characters are not only hackneyed and tired, but they are fucking dangerous because of the messages these books spread, leaving young women everywhere thinking that these are relationships to aspire to, that they can and should sacrifice their safety, dignity and happiness in order to be a rehab for busted, broken men who desperately need a therapist and maybe a nice long think in a prison cell, and that these pulpy excuses for fiction paint a realistic picture of the cataclysmic damage abuse can wreak on victims in real life, psychologically and in terms of life path. It's sickening.
Her mom was in a DV relationship that CoHo witnessed. Seeing your parent be abused is also in turn traumatic to a child. I think this idea of saying that someone who romanticizes DV and SA has never faced these things is disingenuous. It's totally possible to have been abused, and still romanticize it/justify it/take it lightly. We shouldn't assume what she's been through. I agree with everything else though.
Nikki, I really appreciate your perspective on DV topics/media as a survivor yourself. It adds so much to my understanding. I was never physically (only emotionally) abused, but your righteous anger at this BS media makes me feel so empowered. Keep being angry, as long as it isn’t hurting you. ❤️
"now that they have a bad movie about domestic abuse, they won't ask for any more movies about domestic abuse, they'll be too annoyed by Blake's rich ass to remember survivors."
Absolutely foaming at the mouth, jumping for joy, giggling and kicking my feet. I have been rewatching your videos sobbing because we had no new Nikki content YES YES NEW NIKKI AHHHH
Ahahaha. Good resemblence. After all, stalking is, even before DV, the most romantic thing right?😅. "Wear your camouflage clothes (to spy on your victim) and send your E-mails and then go watch Baby reindeer "
@@REDD-EEngl I don’t like him because his wedding to Blake lively was at a plantation. It obviously a plantation too 😭 it was referred to as “slave street”
I hate to be that person but I never liked him everytime he somehow came up on my feed. he's absolutely obnoxious when he opens his mouth and the whole wedding thing only solidified the bad vibes he gave off. felt the same way with the weeknd
the more gothic theme for Lily’s clothes would’ve tied in so well with the idea she had for the flower shop in the book, leaning into the macabre and dark colors (even though it’s kinda cringe how they brought it up in the book, haven’t seen the movie yet)
19:47 I love how she's talking so much about character in her clothes. But whenever she was interviewed about a period movie with period clothes.... She acted like that was the most offensive thing someone could say??? Girl. *Girl.*
1:21:54 honestly, it would have been a good idea if Ryan and Hugh promoted DV charities along with Blake while promoting their movie and also hold like convos with victims of DV instead of promoting her haircare and alcohol brand. Maybe then it wouldn't be in such poor taste and more ppl donate to these causes. Honestly Taylor's advice wasn't wrong cuz they could've used deadpool fame to draw attention to DV. But the promotions was so horribly handled that this turned into a nightmare
I swear the marine grade polymer has to be some kind of millennial humor tumblr joke or something, that’s the only explanation that makes sense to me💀💀
I am so sorry for what you've been through. I am still struggling to cope/exist after surviving DV. I'm truly inspired by you speaking about it so openly and moving forward this way. Thank you and I'm with you.
I'm newly postpartum with a one month old and your videos have been getting me through these night feedings! Lol. Thanks for being so entertaining with energy that keeps me awake 😂
It's notable that the only NEGATIVE stories on Baldoni comes from people who are financially motivated to validate Lively stealing the project. His friend may have fallen for the propaganda. It's extremely common for people who idolize abusers (Lively) to act abusively themselves and it is textbook abusive behaviour to cast the victim of the abuse (Baldoni) as the abuser themselves.
As someone with cystic fibrosis I absolutely hate five feet apart 🙄 Like WE CANT GO NEAR EACH OTHER! I'm sorry but no man or woman will ever be worth me risking my health and making me ache in pain more to just to get physically close to. This film has spread awareness but also aided in spreading misinformation just like it ends with us ironically.
The "little bump" interviewer was so offended because she was infertile I believe. A different deep dive about this went more into that, I think I remember a clip of the interviewer directly talking about why personally it happened to be like a dagger to her and so triggering, but I don't remember if it was infertility (I think) or possibly recent miscarriage or something
i think it’s idiotic to say justin “didn’t think about what blake’s character is feeling” while playing ryle. i’m a survivor of parental abuse and let me tell you, my father did NOT think about how his actions towards me would affect me. he did not care. abusers do not care. so, truly, by justin not caring about what blake’s character is feeling or going through, THAT is an accurate depiction of abuse. i feel like the movie could have been so much better had they had talked to survivors of abuse. this movie sounds like it was made by people who think they know what abuse is like but have never experienced it themselves or had a loved one who experienced it.
blake lively: i was my own intimacy coordinator 🥰 also blake lively: a kiss scene went for too long and it was uncomfortable and totally proof of baldoni's toxicity like b so fucking fr rn, i feel like she's grasping at straws bc she couldn't find anything public abt him thats even near ''plantation wedding'' levels of warranted criticism
big ups to you, nikki, for being among the only people I’ve seen talk about this AND use part of the video to talk about the various DV resources you’re providing links to, that’s so thoughtful and helpful
I know it can’t be easy to talk about your story and deep dive into other stories about abuse. So, thank you for providing resources and entertainment for us.
Honestly, I feel like people sided with Blake because Ryan and her have a LOT more power in Hollywood compared to Baldoni. I know this is all speculation, but based on the public behaviors of Baldoni and Lively, it seems to me that Blake is a mean girl and scapegoated Baldoni and she had the power in the situation to do that. Bullying and abuse is like that. Bullies and abusers isolate their victim, and people saying 'Why would the whole cast side against Baldoni?' are missing the power dynamics at play and how it easy it is for someone with Blake's influence to single out and isolate someone. Ironically, in a movie about domestic violence, we are seeing some of how it works at play. Bullying isn't exactly domestic violence, but as a survivor of both, I can tell you that they borrow from each other a lot. When examining who the perpetrator and who the victim is, look at who holds the power. Blake is the household name, Blake is married to an A-list actor, Blake has a documented history of mean behavior, and Blake has a lot more connections in the industry than Baldoni. Unless other evidence comes out, I'm leaning towards Blake being the aggressor here.
I mean, ill be mad if after an actress takes over my movie and has the nerve to demand me rewrite the script when she already did, and doing chances behind my back... Like, can we blame Baldoni? All that intrusion
1:04:00 Im honestly going to give Baldoni the benefit of the doubt here. With the way Collen wrote "It Ends With Us" unless you go in knowing it's supposed to be a novel about DV it can easily be read as one of her normal novels. Another book review UA-camr CrimsonRogue (I think, I could be wrong) didn't even realize one of the scenes was DV until someone else pointed it out to him because of the way it was written. Because from what I know it can read like any other of COHO's novels. And it looks like Baldoni realized it at some point and became a lot more tactful in how he handled the subject after.
27:04 Hearing this after witnessing the disaster that was Film Cooper’s video on this-where he primarily seemed to villainize Justin and defend Blake and got a ton of backlash in the comments section-is kinda jarring.
I did not watch this god awful movie yet, but from what I have seen on line it is so unbelievably cringe. From the names like Lilly Blossom Bloom and Atlas, to the the scene where she is confronting her abuser with a smile on her face and telling him she is leaving while he is holding their new born. That would NEVER happen in real life DV situation. Absolutely oblivious. And Blake Lively’s acting is just awful.

The thing is, Justin might not be an angel but everything against him is alleged…meanwhile everything wrong about Blake is VIDEOTAPED and well documented! She literally did all those things unprovoked: the alcohol campaign, the hair product, the “grab your friends and wear your florals”, the problematic past interviews, the “not wanting to talk about DA”…
Also his “friends” might not take his side publicly because Blake is clearly more influential (she has more connection in the industry) so it’s not surprising

Her reeking of privilege just brings more attention to RRs shady behaviors so I'm all for it
That's just capitalism
And objectively to use a dv movie to do this is disturbing. Make a movie about literally anything else if you’re not gonna take it seriously
Same with Ryan all he's even known for is playing deadpool and that's it
I do like her Harrison Ford movie though not saying that makes up for anything but I think that ones cute
I don't care about this book/movie, but it did find the casting of Blake Lively weird because she's not a good or serious actor. She didn't take an ounce of this seriously and it shows
I thought the same thing!
I'm thinking the casting came with the offer to produce/bankroll the film, which I'm actually confused about bec IEWU is v popular, I'm sure there would have been a lot of other investors. But I guess not.

But if you're messy, imperfect, heal slowly, or need help you will be shamed for not living up to that standard.

i always felt like the blake lively ryan reynolds plantation wedding was an “easier to ask for forgiveness than permission” type deal where they knew what was up, they just wanted to get married there and knew that it wasn’t a big enough scandal to ruin their careers if they apologized after

@@zesty6781 you just dropped some awesome lore rn 😭
Calling ryan reynolds "the rick and morty of actors" is one of the most scathing but truthful reads ive heard in a WHILE and it had me in TEARS laughing
I think Blake's promotion of it is truly how CoHo wants it promoted, because CoHo SAYS she's protective of it, but openly admits she "fell in love with Ryle" and didn't want to make him a bad guy, and basically implies very heavily that if Ryle just finds a good woman to fix him, he'll stop being abusive. CoHo stands with Blake, not Justin, nor either of them, in how it's promoted. Blake's wrong, but I think she's on the same page as CoHo
You know, maybe it's just like, me, but I think the allegations against Justin aren't bad if like, you consider A) CoHo and Blake clearly want to paint this movie as a beautiful romance between Lily and Ryle and also Lily and Atlas, which would be why he was in constant conflict with both of them and "wanted control of the project" because he seems to be the only one who understands that this movie is about domestic violence, B) that like you said he has back problems and needs to know how to properly lift her without hurting either of them, and C) Maybe he missed any sign she was uncomfortable? Like it literally could have been a miscommunication, a misunderstanding, an accident, he thought she was also acting because we don't know what kiss it was and it could be one where Ryle kisses Lily to manipulate her; who knows.
I agreee especially with the way she writes her other leads
CoHo kinda gives off E.L James energy, holy moly.
And he is? They act the exact same, I don't think it's any funnier just because it's him saying shit.

i agree but wdym “blake’s been spending too much time around ryan”?? like that’s her husband?? 😭😭
Blake was like this even before Ryan. If you've seen the video of her subtly calling Leighton (Meester) a monkey and playing it off as a joke, she was already awful then.
@@meiilu7799It’s just being used as an expression here. We know that she’s literally going to be around him a lot since they’re married, but it’s being used here more so to say “she’s trying too hard to be like the man she found endearing enough to marry, but she is not naturally witty, sarcastic, or funny & her mean girl energy definitely makes it worse.”
I took some creative liberties there but hopefully you get what I mean, lol.
It’s not crazy to say about adults because adults DO behave like this all the time. Being catty and cruel doesn’t end when we graduate.

@@annabelledee6554 she bailed on him for the alien watch :( (don’t worry i went and saw it with him when i found out)
Blake’s styling made it look like the character went on a Kohl’s Cash shopping spree…
Omg I know she won’t but I’d love for her to read this because all she added were designer pieces 😂
Calling BookTok users "normal" is like me calling Homestuck a "short webcomic" lmao
HOMESTUCK MENTIONED IN COMMENT SECTION, DAY IMPROVED.
Blake named her alcohol brand after her daughter? That's weird.
Better than naming her daughter after her alcohol brand though.
The doctors say its not curable...you guys I have fashionphobia.
I have CoHobia.
"now that they have a bad movie about domestic abuse, they won't ask for any more movies about domestic abuse, they'll be too annoyed by Blake's rich ass to remember survivors."
you post the INSTANT I have to go to bed 😭
Fr I just saw this and I have to go to bed, but I won’t!
Omg Atlas actor dissociating every time Blake talks is my favorite part. 😅 (edit: lol just got to the part where you said the same thing)
Absolutely foaming at the mouth, jumping for joy, giggling and kicking my feet. I have been rewatching your videos sobbing because we had no new Nikki content YES YES NEW NIKKI AHHHH

She has the crazy eyes
NOT BABY REINDEER 😭
Ahahaha. Good resemblence. After all, stalking is, even before DV, the most romantic thing right?😅. "Wear your camouflage clothes (to spy on your victim) and send your E-mails and then go watch Baby reindeer "
god i hate ryan reynolds so much and not just because we share a surname and people always ask if we are related. even if i was, i would lie!!!!
Why do you hate him?
@@REDD-EEngl I don’t like him because his wedding to Blake lively was at a plantation. It obviously a plantation too 😭 it was referred to as “slave street”
I hate to be that person but I never liked him everytime he somehow came up on my feed. he's absolutely obnoxious when he opens his mouth and the whole wedding thing only solidified the bad vibes he gave off. felt the same way with the weeknd
@@KIMIsheep ugh fr I honestly really like the Deadpool movies and comics, makes me so sad that the guy who played him the best was a total d-bag

the more gothic theme for Lily’s clothes would’ve tied in so well with the idea she had for the flower shop in the book, leaning into the macabre and dark colors (even though it’s kinda cringe how they brought it up in the book, haven’t seen the movie yet)
19:47 I love how she's talking so much about character in her clothes. But whenever she was interviewed about a period movie with period clothes.... She acted like that was the most offensive thing someone could say??? Girl. *Girl.*
whats crazy is that movie had designer archive pieces!!! like they were significant for sure
"We love you, Queen Nikki" we all say in unison

It's notable that the only NEGATIVE stories on Baldoni comes from people who are financially motivated to validate Lively stealing the project. His friend may have fallen for the propaganda. It's extremely common for people who idolize abusers (Lively) to act abusively themselves and it is textbook abusive behaviour to cast the victim of the abuse (Baldoni) as the abuser themselves.

The "little bump" interviewer was so offended because she was infertile I believe. A different deep dive about this went more into that, I think I remember a clip of the interviewer directly talking about why personally it happened to be like a dagger to her and so triggering, but I don't remember if it was infertility (I think) or possibly recent miscarriage or something
yeah the interviewer is infertile plus she felt ignored during the interview
@@genocider9782they literally ignored her
@@lavi8090 oh yeah
35:04 You are the only person i've seeing taking about how weird Ryan was in that interview , feels like more people should have picked that up.
i think it’s idiotic to say justin “didn’t think about what blake’s character is feeling” while playing ryle. i’m a survivor of parental abuse and let me tell you, my father did NOT think about how his actions towards me would affect me. he did not care. abusers do not care. so, truly, by justin not caring about what blake’s character is feeling or going through, THAT is an accurate depiction of abuse. i feel like the movie could have been so much better had they had talked to survivors of abuse. this movie sounds like it was made by people who think they know what abuse is like but have never experienced it themselves or had a loved one who experienced it.
blake lively: i was my own intimacy coordinator 🥰
also blake lively: a kiss scene went for too long and it was uncomfortable and totally proof of baldoni's toxicity
like b so fucking fr rn, i feel like she's grasping at straws bc she couldn't find anything public abt him thats even near ''plantation wedding'' levels of warranted criticism
big ups to you, nikki, for being among the only people I’ve seen talk about this AND use part of the video to talk about the various DV resources you’re providing links to, that’s so thoughtful and helpful
I was trying to figure out who a struggling florist was affording such an expensive wardrobe
The book and movie was genuinely such a wild thing to live through. This is certainly a time ever.
right. cant wait to watch a deepdive about 2024 hoovergate in 10 years
I mean, ill be mad if after an actress takes over my movie and has the nerve to demand me rewrite the script when she already did, and doing chances behind my back...
Like, can we blame Baldoni? All that intrusion
I’m sick and just took some cough syrup. I’m SO ready to fall asleep to this and then wake up & finish it later 🤣

Im honestly going to give Baldoni the benefit of the doubt here.
SHE HAS COME BACK ONCE AGAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN, OUR SAVIOURRRRRRRRR

Justin is guilty as everyone else for chosing to make a movie that glamourizes DV against women. Stop making excuses for him.
The marine grade polymer chair fiasco is so absurd I am speechless 💀💀💀
43:55-44:12 I need to carry this clip with me at all times. Like you said, everyone just expects me to “get over it”
I did not watch this god awful movie yet, but from what I have seen on line it is so unbelievably cringe.
