Thank you for the informative video. I changed mine today, plenty of time during the pandemic stay at home order in Seattle. I have an '04 MDX and I needed to remove the starter to get the old mount out from the top. Easy to remove, two bolts and two electrical connections, as mentioned. Here is information on the torque specs on the mount and bracket bolts: 17 mm top mount bolt 40 lbf-ft, 4 mount base bolts 33 lbf-ft, 3 mount bracket bolts 28 lbf-ft. These were taken from my Acura Service Manual.
Just a caution for everyone is that the engine is aluminum so make sure to have something in between the jack and engine to cushion the pressure. Otherwise, you might crack the engine when raising it up during the bolts tightening stage.
Hey, appreciate the video, it is helpful even with my 06 Ridgeline. The procedure is a little different because of starter location etc. but the mount is identical. Before I dive into the replacing my front mount I was hoping you could answer a question for me please. The vacuum line you mentioned in your video is nowhere to be found in my truck. It seems a vacuum has never been connected. Visually, the mount itself looks ok and appears it may have been replaced at some point. I was wondering if the missing vacuum would allow enough movement in the mount to create a vibration? Also, where does the vacuum scavage from? There's no indication where a line was located in my truck. Thanks in advance.
I was able to remove it from the top and install it from the top. The original was actually falling apart and wasn't difficult to remove. I didnt remove the starter or the battery and was able to remove and replace the front mount! Drastic difference, no more hard shifting!

Perfect. Thanks for contributing!

Thank you for all the Mdx Videos!
There is no need to tamper with the starter. I have a 2002.
very helpful!Looks like a DEA mount? How is it holding up after these many years?
No issues whatsoever. By the way, I sold my MDX about 4 months ago, so no more videos on the MDX.
@@rickc3229 Well, it seems to have worked for longer than I expected. Thanks for responding, Rick!
great video, very helpful! i will be doing this soon and your video will come in handy.
thank you so much for sharing this video I was able to do mine today!!!
This is an excellent video way easier than doing from the bottom and dropping the frame . Ya it's more tedious but way more easier in my opinion
Just discovered your page
Thanks
Is this a common issue or typically assigned to higher mileage?
Still own this 03 ?
Other tips?

Thanks for the video. I plan on doing this job this weekend. As soon as I put the truck in reverse I hear a clunk. Would that front mount be my issue?
Could be, but it’s usually the passenger side engine mount. If you watch my timing belt replacement video you will see how to replace it.
Did you replace the other mounts as well? If not, how has the front mount held up since the install?
That's probably the transmission.
thank you very much, the video was very helpful
Drain coolant, remove fan assembly, remove mount.
Did you take the mount out through the top or out the bottom?
I was able to remove it from the top and install it from the top.

I really don't think k he had to remove the starter, also the battery.
