      I go to Vegas now like twice a year.. staying at corca.. everything is usually comped (hotel and food. But even if it's calmed they are taken away from the credits. Food that used to be 10 or 20 is now going to be 30 or 40 or more.. no more buffets unless you're coughing up $50 or more

    Oh, I remember the good old days. Breakfast 99 cents, and $1.49 with steak. You could walk
    around the strip any hour during the night without any worries. Breakfast buffets like $3.-- to $4.--
    No, Las Vegas is not worth flying across country anymore.

    Was in Vegas last week and definitely noticed a big increase in prices over last trip not even 2 years ago and on top of that the slots were way more tighter.....Vegas used to offer good value when it came to food and hotels in exchange for you to put a little hard earned money into the slots ... but now they are squeezing out as much as they wherever they can from the visitors and this will only hurt them in the long run ... people will not come back if the value is no longer there especially with how the economy is going ...

      Yeah they can only charge what ppl will pay and it won’t be long before other states allow gambling more and that will hurt Vegas because they got too greedy. Florida is one edge -they finally allowed sports betting app but only by Hard Rock and there are many lawsuits in now from other places in state and ppl from Vegas saying it can’t be a monopoly for Hard Rock so i think others will get in with sports betting apps and then it’s only natural that casinos will end up here within 5-10 yrs and the big shots from Vegas our a lot of money into politics here and now that Disney doesn’t run our state and they even fought Hard Rock casinos from opening we are going to see a change. Florida is a big target for Casino owners and there is a lot of land inland that a Vegas could be built-not everything has to be on the water because Disney and Lego land and Universal and Sea world are all in,and and do fine so a Florida Vegas coukd do well -extremely well built in middle of state. I think it will happen because it’s such a huge tourist state anyway and then there’s stuff here to do for all ages and types of ppl. You can take kids to kids stuff and then adults have something to do and that’s how this state would beat Vegas. Disney has fought everything hard -like gambling and medical marijuana. But they don’t seem to understand derstand that a Vegas in Florida will help there bottom line. Parents can kill 2 birds with 1 stone by having a place to take kids and to have adult stuff all in one state or area. Plus you have the water to stay on. I hope we do get it all and it’s time the Indians don’t run our state and Disney doesn’t run our state-the state has grown so much in 20 years and is not the same place. We go to the Hard Rock Casinos here pretty often and it doesn’t matter the day or time and they are packed. What sucks is we don’t get some of the machines Vegas does -we get the game but not versions of it because Vegas gets first rights in a new game first a year and then we can have it. Not all but some. NY might turn into a Vegas of east coast too. Problem is the weather and not a lot for kids to do most of the year & stuff is expensive. I’m a born raised NYer and moved to FL 20 yrs ago so i know both states pretty well and being so many ppl are moving to Florida and it’s not just old ppl now younger ppl want more here and don’t understand why we don’t have all sports betting and all casinos. I just pray they don’t build casinos on water-it would ruin the beaches and the vibe-we have enough land to do it in,and at least a little like Disney you can drive 20 minutes to be on water. Drive and hour to be in Tampa to those beaches and Busch gardens and they are talking about high speed rail yo zip around state so if they did that and built a Vegas here it would be awesome.

    This is a great video and very informative. Thank you. But it just helps cement my decision to not return to Vegas. Nothing about this real estate investment / stock market price deal sounds sustainable in the long run. Eventually the constant need for the hotel / casino operators to increase their prices will result in a major collapse. It's inevitable, though it make take a few years. People simply won't be able to afford to go anymore. And that will likely result in a huge drop in prices. Greed, much like pride often happens before a fall. So just wait until the crash before returning to Vegas. And if that collapse doesn't happen soon, I'm also fine with that outcome. Plenty of other, much cheaper and wonderful places to visit in the world. I can go to a number of different locations in Spain, Portugal, Greece, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria etc for a fraction of the price of a standard week-long trip to Vegas and those places also offer something that Vegas can't, ancient history and rich culture. Sounds like it's time to move on from Vegas as a tourist and go where we're wanted. Save your hard earned money folks and spend wisely in these difficult times. Let the mega corporations destroy themselves. No skin off my nose.

      100% agreed. One or two trips to Vegas is more than enough. Basic supply and demand economics will also kick in. If people don't go to Vegas something has to give. Actually I'd rather save my money and buy gold coins. Great way to hedge against inflation and store financial value.

    I used to vacay in LV 2X a year for 10 yrs I quit as I was turning 60 and didn't want to do the all day air travel thing from back east here anymore. On top of the 5hr flight add in driving to the airport, getting to long term parking waiting for the shuttle to the terminal going thru TSA to get to your gate where they want you there 1hr before your flight. Then arriving it's another long trek to baggage claim and another shuttle to the car rental place, find your car and drive to your hotel and stand in another line to check in before collapsing in your room. Then you have to do the whole thing again in reverse going home plus losing 3hrs with the time zones. I can drive to Atlantic City door to door in 3hrs flat in my own comfort. I did that many times before finally gong to LV. AC ain't LV but it'll do.

    Steven, remember there is a ceiling for everything. I recently read an article about Disney World raising ticket prices so high that many middle class people are being priced out of the market. These tourist destinations cannot survive on just the income from rich people alone. I could not imagine an airplane flying cross country with only first class passengers on board with an empty coach compartment. An airline for example needs the income from the back of the AirBUS in order to make a profit. If prices become to expensive for people to afford, they won't visit and prices for sure will come down. The State of Hawaii is finding this out now as we speak! Excessive prices and bad mouthing the tourists will not help you as a destination. Becareful what you wish for, you just may get it!

Food prices really surprised us; we made it a goal to find decent reasonably priced food for mealtimes. We ended up in the Miracle Mile (Planet Hollywood) at a couple of spots (Blondie's, Oceans). Tried In 'n Out near the Link. For breakfasts we bought yogurt, granola at CVS.and found small deals as we walked around. But it was hard to find really good deals within a couple miles.

    I am retired and can afford it but really have no desire to visit Las Vegas anymore despite being driving distance away. I can go to California casinos and gamble. Too crowded and too expensive. International travel and visiting US national parks are more of my thing.

      I’m the same. I can pay for a trip to Vegas and it’s no big deal if I really wanted to go. I just got sick of the ever escalating prices, worse gambling odds, and feeling like they look at me as a sucker and not the customer. So now I don’t go. We are going to New Orleans instead. Better food, prices, and they have a Harrah’s casino right there.

    I went a few months back. The amount of cost I spent on food was less than ever. Mostly because I didn’t do a buffet. But the rooms rate been going up for the last 20 years I’ve been visiting. But it’s still not terrible because where I live at rooms start off around 80 and it’s not even close to the same experience.

    The key word is corporation. Corpirations focus on profit, run the business into the ground, then sell off just before it tanks. No free parking+No buffet+increased meal costs=less visitors. There is a doctor shortage in Nevada, teachers are treated horribly, and the A's will eventually stay in Sacramento. Thanks for this video!

    Last time I went to Vegas was around 2009. Just after the housing crash. Vegas was hurting hard and I remember being told come now cause it never will be this cheap again. I think we paid $75/ night, right on the strip . Food and beverage costs were manageable. Got our moneys worth I remember thinking .
    Way to expensive now to go back, doesn’t seem like Vegas wants to lure my demo back anyways.

  • @ed5308
    @ed5308 3 місяці тому

    I do not disagree with your premise that Vegas will get more expensive. Some people think prices will have to come back down. They would be wrong. I went for years but I was a low roller and would budget $ 500.00 for room and food and gas. Then I would budget ( hard to believe ) $ 1500 for a weekend on gambling. This is what I could afford. It just does not work anymore so I do not go anymore. Vegas was fun when no parking fees, no daily access fees, and you got comped drinks for $ 5 bets. I know those days are long, long, long, gone. I had my fun now its up to the next generation to enjoy spending and losing money in Vegas.

    The strip has gone downhill a fuckton. Was there last week. A full pin up pizza pie is like 85 dollars now, coulda sworn it was like 55 last year. That for some reason was the biggest wtf i noticed. I will say i saw some $10 blackjack on the strip for the first time in years, but this was the first time i was there during the week in years.
    Went to south point and loved it. Fremont was still pretty good, but i think prices might be going up there soon too. Circa still seems legit though, and the wings i had at the victory burger place were actually a pretty reasonable amount for the price.

    NOT going to be getting more expensive if people no longer come - which is a good possibility as more and more people live paycheck-to-paycheck, or in other words if most Americans are broke on their ass, 😳.

    I am fortunate enough to be 7 stars tier at Caesars Palace. Free suites, limo, flights, meals, gifts etc. I just left there a few weeks ago and was really surprised how expensive everything was. Its 6 freakin dollars for a litre of water at the airport. We did the buffet for 3 of us when we arrivesd, $280. We did a pizza in food court one night for 4 of us it woulda been $110 had we had to pay for it lol.

    They will keep raising prices until even rich people quit going. When that happens they will try to backtrack but it will probably be to late for most people. I don't care who owns them they will eventually price themselves out of the market for the average and even above average person.

  • @bpark222
    @bpark222 3 місяці тому

    I never thought the prices were coming down. There may be a slight adjustment or a freeze but prices are never coming down anywhere, in part because of what he discussed, but there are other reasons too, and not just Las Vegas but everywhere. If they do start coming down it will be due to a collapse or partial collapse of thd economic system (2008) and it, uh, it won’t be good for consumers, they won’t be able to afford Vegas no matter how much cheaper it gets if that happens.

    You shouldn't kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. Those geese in this case are the tourists and Vegas is going to price itself right into the poor house or at least in that direction. Within two years if not sooner the Strip will begin to feel that loss and the thing is once people find other ways to spend their disposable income, they won't be coming back. Just my opinion. I lived there in the 80's before all this massive expansion.
