I love getting such a diverse and eclectic reading list from you each month! This month I loved the sound of The Summer Without Men and Valley of the Birdtail. Thank you!
OHMYGOD. I completely forgot about MidMonthBookBash!!! I need to try to get back into it next month. I am on the struggle bus still, lol. The Appeal sounds so good!! Valley of the Birdtail is going on the list too! Awesome you had such a great reading month! Hoping if I keep watching booktube some of this good reading vibes will rub off on me, LOL!!
Your reading lists are so interesting. I picked up a copy of The Spellshop on a whim weeks ago looking forward to reading this. I look forward to the 2025 Naturalist Book Club list. It usually becomes my Christmas wish list.
Hi Heidi! Vanity Fair was a dnf for me so congratulations to you three for this achievement! 😅😂 A summer without men has been on my list to read for years, it just got higher on the list. Thanks!
I really enjoyed The Spell Shop. It was fun and light. Valley of the Birdtail is a must read for me. My Grandmother actually went to Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon in the early 1900s
@@vickicoleman2474 oh wow! It must be hard to read about the history and impacts of residential schools when you have someone in your family who experienced it.
I'll have to pick up Valley of the Birdtail. Sounds fabulous. I'd recommend The North-West is our Mother, by Jean Teillet, to you. It's about the Metis, Louis Riel and the Canadian government. I thought it was really well done and I learned a lot.
@ I am still on Ron chernow’s George Washington but I am slowing getting President biographies. I live near a McKay’s and I am always browsing their biography section.
I love Siri Hustvedt books but The Summer Without Men is one I have not read. Thanks so much for your review as it has expressed up to the top of my TBR. My favorite of hers Is What I Love which is the story of two families, one the father is an art critic and the other an artist both in NYC. Finished the Cliffs, which was a little all over the place but it is excellent and would fit right in with Valley of the Birdtail. Thanks for an excellent video as always. I'm currently listening to The Color of Water by James McBride a memoir about his white Jewish mother and their family life--12 mixed race kids--great amazing listening
Catching up on your videos. Thrilled you enjoyed Fatty Legs! Stay tuned for another bookish chat with Christy Jordan-Fenton on my channel soon! And even happier that you got along so well with Valley of the Birdtail! It sure did pull everything together so well! 👏👏😜❤️❤️
So glad Vanity Fair is getting attention. I think it is very underrated- not pleasant read but wonderful social commentary. Thank you!❤

I’m going to try the Summer Without Men! I’m so glad you read Birdtail. It’s one of my favorite nonfiction books of all time. 🥰

Another solid month in the books, pun intended. 📚 🏆
