I have a question. How do males and females bond with each other? I don't see how men and women can bond (especially romantically) with each other. Men and women think very differently from each other. It seems like it's impossible for men and women to emotionally connect with each other.
Women do emotionally connect with other women, better than men do. Women can build incredible friendships and become very close to each other in a way men can't bond, and science shows that women can bond very well with each other. Generally, women are even more social than men are. After something bad happens, a woman quickly rushes to talk to all of her female friends to get support, whereas a man can isolate himself and grief alone.
Women tend to be more emotionally intelligent, more caring, more empathic, more compassionate, more affectionate, more loyal, more nurturing, more understanding, more sympathetic, more sensitive, more kind-hearted, more peaceful, more calmer, more gentle, more selfless, more expressive, more intuitive, and more outward than men are, and thus bond more with other women in a special way that they can’t with men. Men, on the other hand, are not that emotional, and thus can’t bond with other men in a special way. Women regulate emotion better.
Women are more comfortable being around with other women than they are with men. They have a type of bond that usually men with women won’t really have, or with men and men. Also, girls that are friends touch each other in ways that guys just don’t.

@@icysnow57cold64 you touched on a whole bunch of things that women are, but you didn't say much about the way that men are, you just mentioned what are perceived as deficits in them when we compare them to women. I think this highlights the problematic way we compare men and women. We are similar in a lot of ways, but we're not equal in every aspect. Men have unique ways that they bond with other men, and while they may not all have the skills and vocabulary to manage and express their emotions like women can, they still have the emotions. The things that are different about us are not bad, and we have more in common with each other than we have differences.

I feel you. I had an instant crush on someone I met 13 years ago in grad school. We are still in each other's lives as friends, even now living 5 hours apart. He hits every single one of these. I was wondering if this could be a sign that a woman is interested in me. She used to work at the bakery I go to a lot, and we chatted and connected so many times. On her last day, she said my coffee was on her. One day, I ran into her at the bar. We chatted, and I said something about her bravely coming out of her shell better than me (however I worded it) because of her singing karaoke during her first time here. Not long after, when she and her friends were singing again, she gestured me toward them and pointed to the lyrics on the screen. What's funny is I had told her I didn't like being in the spotlight during the said "out of shell" conversation. Not to criticize her action and encouragement! There is this guy I like at work, but its hard to tell if he's into me. For a while he and I were eyeballing each other then I had the confidence to talk to him several times, but he only did once.
