I'm 55 yrs old, and Ron Garvin has been my FAVORITE wrestler since I was like 12 yrs old...I still watch His matches today...loved his rough, alpha-male, style...A REAL MAN in the ring...I loved when He would wrestle some submissive job guy, because He always seemed to really enjoy it
@@Lewis9700 ...He was a finely tuned "ring machine" when it came to His rough wrestling style....He was, and is still, my favorite to watch wrestle...especially jobbers...
ronnie was the best. Started watching him when he was with icw. I liked the match when he broke Ox Bakers False teeth in the early 80s. Watched him on tv through out the years. Seen him take the belt from Flair. Then 6 or 7 years ago I nvited him on our radio show and he came on our show for a few hours and told us so many stories. The best radio show ever. Digger Doug says happy birthday Ronnie
Saturday, 8/9/1988 ( JCP ) NWA The Great American Bash 1988 Tour Day 9 :From Chicago, Illinois: UIC Pavilion: NWA World Television Title Match:Ronnie Garvin battled Varsity Club 'Mike Rotunda ( Champion ) to a No-Contest. This was my first live JCP i show I attended, and remember Ronnie Garvin punching out Mike Rotunda, Rick Steiner & Kevin Sullivan.
I never knew Ronnie Garvin has been wrestling since 1969! I just knew about him when he was in the NWA-JCP back in the 1980’s! He kinda reminded me of Charles Bronson💪
Hands of Stone was serious competition for anybody cause he was one tough hombre. He has a bunch of interesting stories as his careers took place during the most interesting time of professional rassling
Lafayette Louisiana is my home town . I never hear much about it in wrestling terms but it was one of the best wrestling towns in Louisiana . The Culkins are who they are talking about
My favorite of Rons feuds was vs Jake The Snake Roberts . It was also the first time I saw him . He was a perfect foil for Tully Blanchard if you ask me . I had hoped to see Ronnie and Tully change ownership of the NWA World Championship . I imagined there being trouble in paradise when Tully Blanchard became lead dog in The Four Horsemen . But they did nothing with Ron’s title run . Which sums up where the NWA was at that time . Swirling the drain .
Not certain, but Yvon Robert might have been the connection to Boston, for Montreal wrestlers. He wrestled extensively there, for Paul Bowser and held his AWA World title, defeating Danno Mahony. He went back to Montreal and he and Whipper Billy Watson were the big attractions. That would certainly create a conduit from Montreal to Boston.
Why is Ronnie Garvin not in the WWE HOF yet? I was surprised to learn he already wasn’t. Pull some strings guys, have a word with HHH and get him in next year.
Tuesday, 8/17/1976 ( MACW ) Columbia , South Carolina : Township Auditorium: Semi-Event: Ronnie Garvin & Tiger Conway, Jr vs Lanny Poffo & Randy Poffo ( aka Randy Macho Man Savage ). The is the night The Poffo's jump Conway, jr, and hit Randy Savage with metal aisle divider in the back.. After 9/17/1976 Ronnie Garvin left MACW.
I'd STILL let Ron put me in a headscissor, and make me take it until finally having to say I SUBMIT...and have him refuse to release me from it until HE felt like it
Well what I got out of this interview Randy Savage was one paranoid s.o.b. in his early wrestling years & probably till the day he passed away but more than that, he like picking fights! R.I.P. Randy & Lenny Poffo

Agree 💯%. Garvin is the best technical wrestler I've ever seen. His matches were always 5 stars. Criminally underrated.

Tony Atlas says Ron Garvin is the greatest ribber ever, and then he said why that is. I couldn't stop laughing.
So these guys didn't have a plan A?
Tough no nonsense. Man made u work a match. Worked snug
Solie was the best...
Even Lex Luger refused to wrestle him because he didn't want to get hurt!
Why don't u guys setup before recording. Otherwise liked interview.

I don't think President Garfield flew cross country on a DC-3, especially since he died 20 years before there was even flight :)
Have they talked of OLES death , i bet not !
