After watching dozens of foodie videos of Bavarian food, I was shocked that no local restaurants offered this tempting dish. Not even the German ones. So I expanded my search to cities with a strong German population, out about 200 miles. Still no crispy pork knuckles. Only shanks with no crispy component. And few of those. I am going to have to make these myself. Thank you for your excellent instructions.
Looks amazing, pork knuckles are soooo good. I like how you used corn starch instead of flour, gluten free as well. My mother-in-law taught me the trick of melting some butter in a little pan and adding the corn-starch to that, and then into the sauce to thicken. I always do it this way now.
Thanks! I've never thought about using the the corn starch would make it gluten free, I do still use the melted butter and flour for my béchamel sauce etc.🙂
