- The Globeguys live on the very eastern edge of Greater Manchester. Just over a mile across the border, into the county of Derbyshire, is the town of Glossop, England. It lies in the foothills of the English Pennines and on the edge of the Peak District, the UK's first National park. In this video, we have been out and about creating some drone from the air footage to create this Glossop from the air video. We haven't been travelling much due to the pandemic so here's a Birdseye view of where we live!
Sights include Glossop, High Peak, Derbyshire, England, Padfield, Hadfield Derbyshire, Bleaklow, The Bleaklow Crash Site, Tintwistle, Gamesley, Dinting Viaduct, Old Glossop, Dinting Viaduct, Bottoms Reservoir.
We have lived in the area since the early 1980s. Never grow tired of it.
Born here in 1950, have lived elsewhere, but it’s always been home, and it’s a beautiful place to be, now enjoying my retirement, surrounded by the hills and moorland, never tire of being here, proud Glossopian, born and bred
Glossop, sometimes hate it here, sometimes love it, but watching this now makes me think i should be loving it all the time. Great video and footage, class👍🏻

I left Glossop 10 years ago. I loved it - so much to see and do. When I used to cross the boundary into Derbyshire from Manchester I knew I was home. I felt like I knew the roads over to Buxton and Matlock a lot better than anywhere into GM. Thanks for the video.
Ahh the age old debate about whether Glossop is merely an extension of Greater Manchester. It's a weird one. Glossop is inextricably linked to GM and in particular, Tameside & Stockport. The area relies so much on Manchester and does not border any other Derbyshire settlement. As you will know, many are fiercely loyal to Derbyshire while many others regard themselves as Mancunian. Used to love passing through Glossop when making the drive from Sheffield to Manchester growing up, I’ve been in the US for a decade now but there’s still nowhere that compares to the Peak District

My grandparents were from Hadfield (close by) and my grandad used to take me to Glossop. Haven’t been in this area in ages but it still looks beautiful, brings back a lot of memories. Very nice drone footage! I wish you all the very best! Cheers, Steven

What a beautiful area to call home! So many quaint places to walk and restore oneself from the stresses of city life/work life. Your compilation and accompanying music were spot on. 👍🏻. And the markers of what we were viewing just added to it. Well done boys! I hope more people will somehow “see the light” and get vaccinated so that Covid and it’s variants will not continue to be a stranglehold/affect life. Enjoy summer as best as you can 😉

Having lived here for almost 50 years, it seems that our dreams have vanished. Now almost every bit of green is being built upon and even before the developments are completed, those poor souls who need to journey to places beyond here need to spend ages trying to escape, heaven knows what awaits those innocent newbies who move here. I'm glad that I'm a pensioner and don't have to travel out of this little box valley, still love the blasted place though
