Still a nice capable machine! All that dust, cough. A usb 3 card would be a handy upgrade too, for not much money. I'd want to turn one of them into an epic XP gamer, 2x2 gb of ram a GTX 750 Ti, Soundblaster X-FI soundcard. It'd be awesome!
@@ted-b "I did have great fun with a lowly GT-710 recently though." Man after my own heart. I just bought a low profile 710 from inno3d, for like 25 euros used. That card is legendary :D It was basically only card on stock after the start of covid pandemic. Although it ran ARMA3 on low well enough for me, and it is crazily overclockable. Still weak, but the overclock is noticable.
Did you install video drivers? It seems that there is some screen tearing at 18:44. The iGPU is too old and windows doesn't install the drivers automatically, you need to install them manually from the Intel website.
Afaik I know you can even upgrade to a 2600K. I got a 390 tower and an SFF for free from work and am in the process of upgrading them. The tower will get the i7, a 1650 and 16 GB Ram, the SFF machine had an i3 and 4 GB, so itll get the i5 and 8GB RAM from the tower. If I find a cheap low profile 1050 ti, Im gonna add that one too.

Very nice mate! I would love to collaborate with you maybe in a future video! That would be such an honour. I also have a small channel on UA-cam and have good computer repair and upgrade knowledge.
If you're asking for the CPU, the fastest supported CPU is the i5 2400 which is running at 3.1 Ghz and 3.40 GHz Turbo For the memory it is 1333Mhz DDR3
M900 is 6th generation Intel Core. The Optiplex 390 is only 2nd generation. Although newer gen doesn't necessarily mean better or faster. The difference is big and the range of CPUs used in the M900 is a lot faster.
Honestly, no apparent reason... kind of because I can :) In this case the IO panel blocking the USB ports would've been a good reason. In general it shows how to disassemble the machine properly and gives a bit more insight on the internals. It also makes sure that everything is really clean and in good shape.
Not sure if that will work. In the current state definitely not as there is no dedicated GPU/3D acceleration. But even with a decent card, I think this would be too much for the CPU and RAM. I tested FS 2020 on the Elitedesk G3 (ua-cam.com/video/n1ETa3mJ85I/v-deo.html) It was just playable there and the specs are not comparable.

Too bad videocards are so expensive now, even the older ones. Would have been fun playing around with some on these machines.
@@jensdbe Aye, it's terrible. I did have great fun with a lowly GT-710 recently though. A rubbish card today but it was great in XP.

I have updated my Dell 390 bios to A14 and I was able to install I5 2500k with 8gb memory. Will be enough for daily task and very light gaming 👍

Nope, intel hd 2000 doesn't support windows 10, or 11.

sir, can i use this case in combination with m-atx size b560m motherboard, and 1 graphics card 2 slot
Not 100% sure but I think it should fit. The case, motherboard and power supply look pretty standard ATX.
can i upgrade this computer to an i7??? if so which one specifically? *Any other suggestions to max this computer out would be great*
i7 2600 should be fully supported. Not sure if it is worth it, depends a bit what you have. I'd start with upgrading to at least 8GB and an SSD.
@@jensdbe thanks 💯
where did you connect the sata ports for each component
??
Doesn't really matter as all 4 ports are SATA 2.0
Se puede colocar puerros SATA 3.0 a través de un adaptador por los puerros PCI
can you tell me which video caed should i buy and work in this PC for gaming?
I’d recommend 750ti or 1050 2gb

How much did you pay for them❓

Get one and install a true Linux like Slackware and you will be surprised by its speed.

In a few years also in belgium there will be reverse compressors that will just suck it all up, without destroying the environment.
