Needs a raised platform on the southern side of the tracks as well. Also it would be great if the platforms were covered to protect passengers from the elements
The Ocean View is an Ex-Great Northern "Great Dome" built by the Budd Company. It's predecessor was the "Big Dome" build by Budd for the Santa Fe. The Milwaukee Road full length domes were called "Super Dome" and were built by Pullman-Standard. Just wanted to make sure you got your Domeology correct. :D
No wonder it runs late. Why all the faffing about and pulling the train forward. Just build a platform at the correct height and allow passengers to get on and off at will. Easy.

They recently finished an extension of the platform, so it can hold almost the whole train. Wish it were more like the station in Ottumwa, IA.
😂
What exactly is "on time", anyway?
I've been watching #3 daily for almost 6 months -- has YET to be "on time"
The Milwaukee Great Dome....

Beautiful catch. You ever ridden those ones before? The Superliner?
Joshua The Transit Prodigy Coley yep I've been on the train several times.
Can anyone speak to why the two step boxes were removed from the sleeper?
The station normally keeps extra steps on hand. They were out, and were just being replaced in case they are needed on a train.
I always thought #3 came through later at night.
Why stopped twice? Is Minnesota Fats in the red coat an employee?

andrea22213 and who will pay for that?
I would Like amtrak trains reduce speed softly. Not that way. The engineer applies the brakes so fast.
The crew appars unsure of what they are doing. A lot of doodling about.
Nice observation car at front
Amtrak ALWAYS running late a waste of gov't money
