Please, do not be in a hurry to judge a person just because he cannot control his temper. This is bad or undesirable behavior, yes, but it does not mean that this person is bad in general, but perhaps the aspects of goodness in him are much greater
It's poor sportsmanship to do such racquet abuse, but that was really a calculated ploy to break the other players momentum. Look at how he takes his time to select his replacement. I mean how else in a tennis do you get such a pause mid game, while the other player is serving no less?
As long as Djokovic is within the rules, there is nothing wrong with that. I agree with you on the fact that Novak breaking a racket can be used in favor to shift his momentum from the opponent by taking his time to change rackets. That's actually a good strategy to help him win the match and it releases his frustration at the same time to collect his energy and play more aggressive and in better control during the rallies. Great strategy actually to break his racket when the game doesn't go his way. This helps him refocus. Him getting a racket abuse code violation simply means he won't do it again during that match but breaking the racket once during the match is fine as long as it helps him elevate his game. Some people believe racket abuse is poor sportsmanship - I don't really see an issue here if he does it once during the match.

Nole the King , volimo te SRBINE!
This is why I prefer Nadal, Nadal knows other people are less fortunate to not be able to afford racquets and knows that it’s not the racquets fault but simply yours
Novak was the one who took the lead in trying to start a fund to support lower-ranked players during the coronavirus pandemic. Please, do not be in a hurry to judge a person just because he cannot control his temper. This is bad or undesirable behavior, yes, but it does not mean that this person is bad in general, but perhaps the aspects of goodness in him are much greater
@@ahmedisa3723 pretty irrelevant, he has done it more times than I can count
@@ahmedisa3723 sure he is a good person, but im just talking about the aspect of breaking a tennis racquet
0:24 This explains why sometimes I see it as OUT but the chair umpire or the technology say it's IN.
reminds me of my little nephew, he's 8 now! how cute!
You’ve don’t play competitive tennis, go and sit down.
No idea, better yet how come Rafa has never gotten a serve time violation? 😅
When you disguise a tactical timeout as a technical one 🌝
CRYING LIKE A LITTLE GIRL or SMASHIN RACKET
THAT´s dokovic
Everyone criticizes Djokovic when he breaks a racket, and many say that Nadal is a gentleman because he never does that. However, Nadal may not break rackets, but the whole world knows that he used banned substances under WADA's permission due to injuries. Nadal was granted permission twice, in 2009 and 2012, to use therapeutic substances that are otherwise banned by WADA's rules, precisely during periods when he was recovering from knee injuries. This scandal cannot be overlooked, nor can the bias that often accompanies Novak Djokovic.
Fed fan here but i love the raw emotion!
It takes Federer one smash to obliterate the entire racket. Novak can even learn from him to mix up his smashes!

That was to funny from Novak not gonna lie. 😂 just out of nowhere 😂 love when athletes release some of angry from the match out 😂🔥
Novak had an injury during this match and that backhand return he hit was affected by his injury. He broke the racket because his injury was pissing him off. Just a little context

Not really. Djokovic still leads the H2H 6-2. If you count this match (ATP doesn't since it does not award ranking points or prize money) it is 6-3.
It was loss .. its natural but the important thing is to digest defeat gracefully which was missing..
Novak won this match
@@tanyag2499 not really. They have played 3 times in a semi and finals. Zevrev has won all 3.
@@denisdaly1708 False. They have played 3 times in a semi or final but Zverev has won only 2 of them. Djokovic won 1 of them: the 2018 Shanghai Masters semifinal. Furthermore, they have played twice in Grand Slams (the most important tennis tournaments) and Djokovic has won both of those meetings. They do have a competitive rivalry but Djokovic definitely has the edge and Zverev definitely isn't Djokovic's kryptonite.

Although I like him as a player and is one of the greatest players ever but his behavior is evident that he lacks the class of champions with character like Borg, Rod laver, Nadal and Federer.
He did get respect though but unfortunately and sadly a player of his caliber is unable to manage his cool which is quiet surprising to see after watching how he has responded to his rivals like Rafa and Roger under pressure situations.
I really wish and pray for him to keep a steady head even if he doesn't play well.
I agree! It must be even more difficult for him especially when most of the crowd is usually against him
I understand to Djoker.
They are his emotions, his rackets and his way of relaxation.
Notice, he remains calm. Each of us is different.
I am doing it the same way. (Throw with racket only :)). It helps me.

When I was a kid I could only dream of getting a racquet of this quality. And I don't even come from a poor family or anything, but top notch racquets like these are really expensive. Seeing such a high ranking players who got so rich so young show so little respect for money, for their young crowd of followers who are dreaming for racquets like this, it makes my stomach turn! What a champ. He lost the point, but won the match of racquet smashing.
At least Zverev beat him in the Olympics semi. And now he smashed his racquets again twice against Carreno Busta for bronze medal and ended up lost.
Today he should’ve have another match for mixed doubles for bronze as well. But just decided withdraw immediately after losing the bronze medal match. I feel bad for the partner, she got robbed from having a chance of getting a medal.
