Destroying Toon World is part of XYZ-Dragon Cannon's special effect (presumably discarding one card in his hand as he is seen holding one card at 6:34) and he can still attack directly (Battle Phase). NOTE: At 5:38 He is seen holding Z Metal Tank and 2 mysterious cards.
All the little effects in this movie were so cool. The little beeps and clicks the cards make when being activated, god I love the little details like that.
"Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" was the first one. Its also the Card Pegasus was aware of. The 2nd Card was "Pyramid of Light". Pegasus had no Idea he had this Card because Anubis, the Antagonist of the Movie, sneaked it in Pegasus Cards so Kaiba will take and use it.

That at least defeats obelisk) and any card or effect that targets it is negated. Maybe that’s not a guaranteed win against the god cards, but it certainly would be useful.
I’m going to assume after he played toon world, Gemini elf, and set ultimate offering The last 3 cards were toon summoned skull, blue eyes, and DMG So when he drew card of sanctity he realistically could only use it to draw 3. Could he have tributed Gemini elf for DMG, use Sanctity, draw 4, Reborn, Offering, cost down, etc? Yes, but he’d have to know he’d draw cost down.
@ Good point tbh since I didn’t think about the rest of his hand, classic YGO is nothing but bricked hands and Pegasus was probably better off gambling on the possibility of drawing some combo piece while going +2 rather than wasting his normal summon and going +3.
He's fascinating but sad from grief his wife died at a young age. Illness was unknown, but Pegasus wasn't a bad person; all he wanted was to bring back his wife, but atlas.. corruption got to him.
Yeah and it only took Kaiba two turns to beat Pegasus as well. Even if Pegasus still had his cheat device Millennium Eye, Kaiba would still beat him with his superior deck.

Can we infer that, due to the god killing card being Blue Eyes Shining Dragon which can't be summoned without sacrificing the Ultimate Dragon, Pegasus owns some kind of Toon Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon in his deck that can be sacrificed to summon the Shining Dragon?
When I first saw "Xyz monsters" and "Xyz Summon," I hadn't seen the announcements for Zexal or even pictures of the cards. So I sincerely thought they somehow related to the XYZ series

It's interesting, cause Pegasus still had a turn left. Kaiba, destroying Toon World and attacking directly, would have left Pegasus with 100 LP Granted, Pegasus was in a previous situation. He only had a draw to turn things around, but it could've worked.
@SgvSth Pegasus paid 1000 LP to activate Toon World. He took a further 100 points for damage from Kaiba re-directing Toon Dark Magician Girl's attack to the Toon Gemini Elves. That left him with 2900 LP left. After that, Kaiba used his Dragon Cannon's ability to take out Toon World. Which also destroyed all of Pegasus' Toons. Dragon Cannon then attacks directly. It has an ATK of 2800, which would bring Pegasus down to 100 LP. With no other monsters out, Kaiba wouldn't have won that turn.

It was to put Y-Dragon Head into the GY, allowing Kaiba to then banish it with Soul Release. That way Return from the Different Dimension can bring back both monsters at once.

I think XYZ dragon canon had a special ability to destroy toon world, which automatically destroys all toon monsters. Kaiba then had it attack him directly. That’s my impression anyway.
@@iambuhlockay8007 You're right, he did destroy Toon World. He even says it. Only part that makes what happened a bit unclear is they merged his special ability destroying toon world with his direct attack.
Remember he had activated cost down which reduces monsters levels in your hand by two. So that made Toon Blue eyes a 6 star which only needed 1 sacrifice. It's also why he was able to summon Toon Summoned Skull and Magician Girl without sacrifices cause they became 3 star and 4 star monsters. :)

If your opponent outs your board, yes. Otherwise, they're LP well spent to secure victory. Basically, Pegasus had not just lethal, but overkill damage on his next turn. Hence Kaiba either popped Toon World on his next turn, OR the Toons on Pegasus's field would all get to attack directly for a combined 7500 damage should Pegasus get a third turn. This duel was incredibly fast-paced for its time.
I really like the interaction between Pegasus and toon blue eyes when they thought Kaiba was going to banish it. 😂

Those who have only seen the anime, Pegasus actually dies at the end of the Duelist Kingdom arc in the manga, killed by Bakura.
What Pegasus needs now is Toon versions of Joey's monsters, like Red Eyes Toon Dragon and Toon Flame Swordsman
