He's an interesting and intelligent man. It would be great to see more like him. I find it refreshing to listen to expat characters who are less typical.
Thank you for the opportunity to see and listen to the interview with Phillip. I have a lovely young Filipina wife who provides very well for us, and Filipinas are the most charming and friendly women I've met anywhere in the world. Congratulations Phillip and thank you for telling us your story!
From the utube interviews I've seen over the past few years covering the expats of Dumaguete, (mostly US), this guy is a rarity...interesting, insightful and humble. Great interview....all best wishes to him.......
An amazing man! A redo is interesting. I’m 56 and my Wife is 20 and having our Son in August. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship. I have a philosophy of limited support for her family consisting of giving my Wife some money monthly to do as she wishes. It keeps the energy positive all around. Though initially a I help you and you help me relationship, a tremendous amount of love has grown. My grown Son has commented on how much happier, healthier, fit I’ve become since living in the Philippines
Oh wow, my father was a Unitarian Minister! But this makes me preacher's kid (PK for short, and a rebel without a cuase). I'm looking forward to my next trip back to The Philippines in a few weeks!
He definitely has a healthy way of looking at life. Seems to have come to an agreement that helps him and her family to include the young daughter. BTW, I work/live in Saipan now, but I'm from Ann Arbor Michigan, a 45 minute drive from his stateside home of Lansing, Michigan. Nice guy, small world. 😊
Simon and Philip, Many many thanks for a great and rather uniquely themed video... Why should everyone follow the same path. Again glad that Philip is enjoying his twilight ( no offence intended) years. I've been to Davao on several occasions, I really enjoyed it... Cheers Stay safe n happy Glenn
Yep i with you guys single moms have a totally different vibe and if you love being a dad like me its great as long as you keep the family at a distance Awesome video as always Simon
To think this relationship is 'working' in any normal way? It's a business deal, she gets financial stability and he gets a working girl. I'm not knocking either party, but the love is only going one way, and I am experienced enough in living in Asia to know the young cute girls never move in with poor foreigners. They'll go when the money does. It's good to live in a fantasy world, and the 'love' is part of that.
What's a love got to do with it. Famous quote my famous singer people say about the get married the woman takes men's home car kids and they got married for love close in age. Yeah they still get divorced. Which to her with a business transaction so what is the difference now nothing
I'm afraid I don't agree with you entirely. Philips situation appears to be working very very well for all the involved parties. Why does one need to start classifying as you've done. Plus normality is not always best nor ideal etc etc. Not arguing in any way or form. But everyone seems very happy. Have a great Sunday. Cheers Glenn

As I reach my later years in life, I see that marriages are a problem, and the idea you can live with someone 'forever' and actually find it fulfilling very day, is rare. If this guy has kids, it's doubtful he will see them graduate, and hopefully they'll be cared for.

Always is and always will be - love , what a joke - so called love is a social construct designed for evil humans to steal your money - it’s as simple as that.
@christaylor7049 Of course it is and anyone who denies it, is a fool. If an old man can afford to support a hot 23 year old and enjoy the benefits (😉)that come with that, go for it!! Dude didn't force this chick to make the decision to be with him.
