Hey Sharon! How long do your seeds take to germinate? I am growing them for the first time this year, and started them 4 weeks ago. I have 5 sprouts out of 24, and I’m wondering if that’s all I’m going to get. The 5 sprouts came up a couple of weeks ago. 🤷♀️ Thanks!!
@@rjmc9737last year I put two seeds in every cell and I did 100 cells I would say Half germinated so I put extra seeds in the cells and they finally came up. I ended up with 137 plants!! If it’s been five weeks since you planted those, I would say that you need to replant those cells!!😊
Great Video...Alot of good Tips...Years ago I started tomatoes and Peppers mainly but no Flowers...I would soak the vegetables seeds in water over night than sow them in starter mix Thanks for your Video.
Thanks so much. That's a great tip about soaking the seeds overnight. I definitely recommend growing some flowers. Marigolds are easy and would be great planted in the vegetable garden. Happy gardening! 😊
Hi, Vita Loca! I discovered your series about a month ago and have watched many videos. I think you are really inspirational. I am currently growing impatiens and I know you said to fertilze after they develop their first set of true leaves. Could you please tell me which is the best kind of fertilzer for impatiens? Is it 10-10-10? Thank you, Jillian from zone 6B.
Hi Jillian! I'm so glad that you found my channel! 🥰 I like to use a half-strength of the Miracle-Gro fertilizer mixed into my water. I fertilize once per week. Happy gardening, friend! 🌺
Hi there You'll want to plant the seeds in wet soil, put a humidity dome on the container(s), and then you shouldn't have to water them again until they sprout / germinate. Once they sprout, remove the humidity dome, put your lights just barely over the seedlings, and start bottom watering them as soon as the container / cell packs seem light when you pick them up. 🌷
Hi there. Unfortunately I don't believe it's possible to collect Sunpatiens seeds. www.harrisseeds.com/blogs/from-the-ground-up/sunpatiens-why-are-they-so-darn-popular#:~:text=To%20put%20a%20popular%20rumor,plug%20%26%20liner%20grower%20specialists%20root.
I bought seeds, and they were so small my fat fingers couldn't feel them, I had to use a piece from a solo cup that was white and scoop them up one at a time to plant them in seed cups. I think I got some planted they haven't sprouted yet.
Hi Nancy. You can do that for sure but just keep turning your trays each day so that the plants don't keep reaching for the light in the window. The plants may get a little leggy but once you plant them outside, you can try and correct that by planting them deeper. ♥🌺
@@budgetgardeningvita Thanks! I just planted my seeds yesterday, so I guess I’m a month behind. 😫 I’ll just have to wait a little longer for flowers. Thanks for your videos. They are very helpful.
I’ve been planting impatient seeds for three years. This will be my fourth year and I love growing impatience.!!😁
Lol. That's awesome! 😂

So this is my first go at growing from seed with impatiens… I’m about to germinate the seeds… during this time do water them ? Or no?

I collected impatiens seed last summer, but my seeds are much smaller than yours. The plants were so tiny and frail; a few have survived.
Were the seeds brown or white? White seeds are not ripe. Did you cover your seeds at planting? They don't like to be covered. ☺️❤️🌸
do you know what sunpatient seeds look like? are they the same

Impatiens seeds are definitely tiny! I hope you have great germination with the seeds that you got planted! 🤞🏼🌺😊
Can l set them in a well light windowsill, no room or grow lights😢

I grow them every year
I'm so excited to be growing so many Impatiens from seed this year! 🌺😊
How many hours of light to you give these seeds?
Hi there! I give them 16 hours of light per day. 😊🌺

@@marychabot7281 You should be ok. When is your average last frost date? The seedlings will catch up in no time. ♥
@@budgetgardeningvita We’re usually safe to plant after May 17th.
Reason my seeds turned white while trying to germinate?
Do you have them in darkness or in light (like under grow lights)?

Nice. What color of Impatiens are you growing?
