So if I'm getting this correctly, we can finally use land towers on land! Just use the middle path ice tower to freeze the water from the mermonkey and we can finally use the powerful 0-0-0 dart monkey on any map with land!

That is so cool. It was a very clear missing mechanic, so it’s nice they finally added it. It’s also cool they didn’t mention it to keep it as a nice surprise
Personally, I always crosspath the mermonkey with the bottom path because it gives camo and seeking projectiles. The only reason to crosspath with the middle path is either for aesthetic purposes or you want to be the pierce lord. X2X barely matters on later rounds. I don't think top path changes the attack speed for the XX3-5 support so that's pretty much the only time I would go for middle path.
EDIT: The lord of the abyss does not get a range boost as if he was in water, if he is placed on land. And while Mermonkeys nearby will get the abyss circle underneath them like other water towers when they are placed in the abyss range, wether placed there before or after the upgrade, they also do not get the range boost for being placed on water. This feels like an oversight. The top path buccaneer buff that applied to any water towers, only applies to mermonkeys in the water and not in the abyss, despite boats and subs in the abyss getting the buff.
6:20 the early ink is cause the tridents thrown are also able to ink, if you slow down the clip in the beginning you can see the insane trident snipe through the corn. You’ve probably already figured this out in editing but I wanted to clear this up for anyone else
I'm really glad they did this. I've always wanted a way to put aquatic towers on land without using powers, similar to how ice and boat allows for terrestrial towers to be on water
if you place a carrier flagship on an abyss dweller at a point where it’s monkey pads are still in range of the abyss dweller’s water then you can place subs on top of them
updates tend to do that ;3 the abyssal warrior mentions in the upgrade description that they get inky tridents, so the basic trident projectile inks too
Yeah, the slowdown between Absolute Zero, Relentless, and Abyss is insane. And combined with the bottom path mermonkey, you also delay bloons far more. Also, 2nd path would be the more DPS route and it can get some good ricochet shots on cornfield

btw the range increese is a global buff if you go 2 in bottom path :D so you dont need to bundle them together, but bottom path is good to use/have in range of high dps monkeys :D
You can use a 205 mermonkey, sauda, 502 boomerang, 520 village, and 205 tack to beat alot of maps (haven't tested them all yet, and have only tested beginner maps so far) to beat impoppable and chimps. Guide: If on impoppable, place down free dart monkey and 202 tack shooter. If on chimps, place down sauda. Then get a 203 tack shooter, 203 mermonkey, and 402 boomerang. For the moab, use saudas ability, or don't buy one of the previous upgrades and get a 204 mermonkey. Then get a village that can hit sauda, the tack, and the boomer (mermonkey is optional, not always possible) Get that village to a 420 village, and get every monkey to tier 4 Get tack zone, then either mermonkey t5 or boomer t5 (doesn't matter, boomer carries more though) and then get the t5 village Win (Place all the monkeys in an intersection of the track, like in monkey meadow or in the loop)
It also works with beast handler top path, but that seems to be a bug since you can't relocate it after. I hope it is an intended interaction because that would be really cool
This is hands down top 3 of my fav towers. I wish beast handler was better tho, it’s a support but both path is the one one comparable to that role and the rest are so much more expensive than they are worth imo. But this tower is so versatile, I love it.
@@LiliumOrientalis alike druids means "like opposite" or something like that. That upgrade on druids specifically says "gives buff to all druid in range" and mermonkey's one doesn't say anything about range except that it increases it(and it works on al mermonkeys on the map)
Oh yeah. Being able to place water towers on non water maps is indeed a complete game changer. Water towers are extremely powerful due to being limited to only a few maps. This probably completely changes the difficulty rating of some maps
@@hi28 yes, if the sight blocker can normally be ignored via sight. A suprising amount of LoS obstacles you wouldn't think off actiually seem to have infinite height, like the rocks in moon landing or the hedges in hedge
I’m very happy we got a water magic tower, seeing as magic was the only class that had zero interaction with water. I haven’t watched much if any vids on it seeing as I wanna fiddle with it myself first
*DISCOVERY* I just did some experiments and you can chinook the Mermonkey away from the beast handlers fish while keeping the beast. This would normally sell a boat or sub but since the beasts arent a sellable tower they stay and cant be repositioned regardless of where the mermonkey is moved to, its just stuck there forever.
The mermonkey belongs more in the support category than the beast handler lol Like make the mermonkey support beast handler primary and ice tower in magic (it early testing it was magic)

you somewhat get the sense that beast handler is only support becuase every category needs to have attackers in it, either to make certain achivements easier, to make certain bosses work or for some other esoteric reason. That said, these categories are never super clear-cut, alch and glue gunner are mainly offering buffs and utility to supplement attacking forces, plus bottom path beast handler (the only path worth pursuing) is very much about it's stalling / progress resetting potential rather than raw dmg output, and the middle path ability is, well at least something
But if we get the top path from the pirate monkey and place top path of meronkey on one side or next to it can we place more water monkeys on it or is the hitbox too big
i think its dissapointing that only the tier 5 meremonkey lets you place water towers because the ice monkey can do a simmilar thing from tier 3 onward

The fact that you can't relocate it is a bug, you can't move water towers into its range with a Chinook either.
