Have been thinking about this but his website has really confusing options. I have the same Thule Aero extended bars on my Forester Wilderness and I'm trying to figure out if I should order the "OEM roof rack" option, which is obviously what it will be mounted to, like yours... or the "Thule" option, which it would NOT be mounted to, but that we'd potentially need clearance for (though I've seen other people have it fit over the Thule end caps just fine). His site says nothing about what the options mean and he hasn't responded to my email. Since you mentioned you picked the wrong option, which one is the correct one? lol
Stupid question, but I have the hardest time finding an answer. What the mounting feet you use for the Thule Aero Extended crossbars? I just want to make sure I get the right fitment for the OBW. Great video man!
Nice video. Very informative. I just ordered a 2024 Outback Wilderness and have the same Thule cross bars and clamps. I bought the 53 inch evo wing bars… not sure of the length you have. Curious to know if your awning is secured on the end of the crossbars or inside the clamp? Could you send me a link to your awning? Do you like it? Great set up you have!
This was a really helpful video. Well done. I have a question about your ditch lights. Is there any risk to the electrical system/alternator by using such auxiliary lights? Would you consider posting a how to walk-through on how you connected them to the electrical system and the brackets?
I don't remember exactly which one I ordered. Only had to modify mine because I ordered the wrong attachment (not the one for extended crossbars). Patrick that runs the company is a super cool guy. Contact him and I'm sure he can talk you through the process to make sure you get what you need.
I get about 19.3 mpg average with a heavy foot and a bunch of stuff mounted on the car. Every other car where I live is a 4Runner. It doesn't have any soul/personality. It's a great vehicle but it just doesn't speak to me. If I had 10k to put into a 4Runner it would be a different story.
@@OBWAdventures I’m sorry, I didn’t specify. There is a roof rack for the Crosstrek called a Thule roof rack, and I was wondering if it worked with that. I just saw this is an outback video so you may not know!
@@flyer26 yeah, I'm not sure. Mine is a Thule and it works for the outback. I'm sure Thule has a crossbar system that works for the Crosstrek, I just don't know which ones.
Lol, sort of (unintentionally). My last name is Quimby and I googled "multicam black hat with a Q" and found that on Etsy. I had no idea what Qanon even was at the time and you're only the 2nd person who's openly recognized it in all these years. I just like the Q and the colors, lol.
Getting mine this month! Thanks for the content man - you have definitely inspired me
mine got done being built on friday just waiting for it to be shipped from the factory!
Do you make a wing for non Wilderness Outbacks with OEM roof rack, ie 2020 Outbacks ?
Check our Orbis Overlanding. He makes the wings and is super responsive. He could point you in the right direction.
@@OBWAdventures I will thanks!

Good question. I'm not sure lol. I can tell you that modifying the incorrect one to fit took 5 mins max with an angle grinder from Harbor Freight.

I honestly don't know. It came together as a kit from the dealership

CVT Pioneer awning. It attaches with the brackets it came with the awning (within the channels on the Tule bars).
I just posted an updated video. Check it out!
Where did you yellow fog lights ???
I have been looking for them for months.
Dark Defense (DD4 model)
How’s it holding up ?
I’m getting the same setup
It's great. Check out my channel for a very recent update.

No real risk. I've them a while now with no issues. I used a wireless relay from superbightleds.com. It's all very straightforward.
Are the accessories lockable? I park outside and would hate to see someone steal the shit I worked hard for.
Pretty much. I guess you could take off the rack wing with tools but everything else is locked
What’s your thought on the outback for what you do? Thinking about getting on. Great setup! 👍🏻
It's my favorite vehicle I've ever owned
Such a great setup. Could you describe how you got the X-bulls mounted to your basket? Thanks!
I used the default pieces included with the boards but it took some very strategic positioning. Lmk if you have a better recommendation.
I didn't use the X-Bull mounting hardware. I just used 4 long carriage bolts with threaded knobs along with some flat pieces of aluminum stock.
Their website doesn't list outback as an option. What one did you order? You modified it?

What’s ur current real mpg and why did you chose wilderness over 4Runner if it’s the same price? Trying to figure out what i need too

great video!!
Thank you!!
Any issues with the gas can interfering with blind spot sensors?
Not at all
Thanks
Does this work with the Thule roof rack?
I'm not sure I follow your question
