The title 'Inside My 675 euros a Month House/Renting in Dublin, Ireland is false. This guy is actually paying 675 euros a month just for a room in a house that he shares with three other people.
I'm a Bulgarian Engineering student and I was planing on moving to Ireland after graduation because it's the only officially English speaking nation(yes some people speak Irish too) in the EU right now but when I found out that it was so expensive I had second thoughts then I found out there was a housing crisis and even the smallest apt. or divided house cost about 1000-1500€ outside city centers(Dublin and Cork) so I changed my mind overall the salaries are low for the living costs and the main factor is rent. If you guys can fix the housing crisis you'll be the EU's next UK(in a positive way. I know a lot of Irish don't like the UK). I know Dubliners are way worse off than Corkonians but even here people are charging 600+ for rooms that aren't remotely close to the city.
Hawk S Fair enough but public transport is expensive as well and not reliable at all (at least in Cork it isn't) so if you live within walking distance of your workplace or college you're saving the price of a monthly bus ticket which is about €110 or so a month, or if you're driving you can save about €300 a month between all the insurance, nct and petrol you have to pay. As someone who doesn't drive, location is key. Nothing more reliable than walking.
