Backyard on a Budget | Entire Backyard Makeover | DIY vs. HIRING a Contractor
Our backyard was in need of a makeover but we didnt want to break the bank. Hiring a contractor is worth it as they are skilled, have the expertise, and do great work. If you dont have the time yourself or dont even have the knowledge, doing it yourself may not go to plan and a contractor is definitely the way to go.
We decided to take on the challenge ourselves and documented the process. Additionally, we only had a certain budget that we didnt want to surpass.

    Very cool. We’re going to build the same one in our nook this weekend. Did you screw into the flooring at all?

    • @nickdesgn
      @nickdesgn 6 днів тому

      Best of luck! I did not put a single screw/nail/or glue into the floor. I made sure i screwed into studs that were in the wall when attaching the supports against the wall. This makes it very rigid and sturdy and is a very important step in my opinion. As you progress, you can screw it to the floor if you feel it needs it after giving the frame a small nudge but again, I dont feel it will be necessary. Hope that helps!

    I beg, nick design, if your reading this, read it till the end, you wont regret it. with that monitor, your capable of a high refresh rate. it makes everything faster and kind of 90% of the price you spent on the monitor, the refresh rate. turn on your pc, locate your desktop (home screen with nothing open) right click and click display, in the settings go advanced display > refresh rate and set it to max, if you already know this or have don't it already, I couldn't resist. hope it helped

    Not sure If I would call a $600 desk budget, but at least it looks nice and will last a long while. I would have probably not gotten the sit/stand frame and gotten a better monitor, but that is just me and I hate standing at my desk

    What width did you make the standing desk frame (it appears to be adjustable but I didn't hear you mention it in the video)? I'm considering whether I could make it work without cutting the desk top and if so how wide to make the standing desk frame.

    Just be careful with the Karlby top, it can damage really easily. As I found out during a PC build. Silly mistake, side panel slipped out of my fingers and the corner made a nice clean L shaped dent. Luckily it lives underneath a mouse pad.

    I keep seeing people on UA-cam with desks under the window. The scenery, trees, and rain are so nice, but it's too bright. Also, a clear window gives you an outside-in feel and more space.
